I know Nintendo fanboys are gonna rush in to say "all of them kek," But I’m looking for THE WORST Genesis/Mega Drive games. Not Sonic 3D blast circlejerk I’m talking absolutely horrible like Dark Castle and X-Perts.
Fucking X-Perts, not only was Eternal Champions wasted as a franchise but this game was so clunky and unresponsive. NO MUSIC, permadeath, shittiest combat system, and a game in 1996, you'd think they know how to make a game on genesis by then.
>speaking of Eternal Champions franchise..
Gadget Twins. Just try and play it.
Bonus points if you play it with volume up as loud as possible.
Let the screen-shot speak for itself.
I actually enjoy shitty games for some reason. I never finished this game but it was somewhat enjoyable in a medocre shitty sort of way. The tactical rpg gameplay is sort of fun. Anyone else like shitty games? It was mostly the music which can be slightly ear grating after a while.
Also please admire that beautiful cover art.
Treco also published the BEST fighting game ever made in human history.
I always felt this game was pretty terrible.
On the Genesis? Well there was that Mortal Kombat wannabe on the CD that had slow and clunky gameplay and had no actual appeal beyond "lol gore"
As for the era, there's Kasumi Ninja for the Jaguar, which was a pretty sorry excuse for a game.
>shaq fu was supposed to be good
It is terrible and also really hard. At one point in the game you had to press reset on the genesis console to go to the next level. I thought that was pretty cool, but I bet many people didn't know to do that.
Nearly twenty years later and I'm still conflicted on whether or I love or hate this game. From a gameplay standpoint it's incredibly boring but god damn does it have some awesome characters.
the Bubsy of fighting games. The fox girl is pretty hot and I would fug.
Brutal: Paws of Fury
There was also a snes port. So it was not exclusively a shitty genesis game.
I remember saving my pocket money up for this thinking it looked really good. Holy shit was I wrong!
God I wish Sonic 3D Blast were a good game. I really want to like it but even when I can wrap my brain around the awkward slippery controls it's just not a very fun game. I got it again recently when I bought myself a new Genesis and I can see why my dad never let me rent it.
I don't find that game bad to be honest, a little slippery and weird camera but i guess I'm just nostalgic for the "HOLY SHIT 3D" feeling I had back then.
For what it was, the level design was cool and varied, music top notch, and disregarding the lack of speed it works a whole despite its flaws. Perfect? No, but bad? I disagree.
It is okay. The controls are a bit too slippery and due to the isometric view it can be hard to line yourself up with hitting the enemy.
Funny I played all the other Sonic games before 3D Blast but 3D Blast was the first Sonic game I got all the emeralds in.
I know it predates Mario Paint and everything but the game could have used more activities, Sega lore, and music. Art Alive had like no music. Is it wrong to compare the two seeing that Mario Paint broke new ground for creativity software?
probably because it came out and cost 70 bucks and had a big celebrity endorsement behind it. With the hype behind it the game would definitely let you down after all that money.
I'd argue Rise of the Robots is still a worse game than Shaq Fu though.
