Americans sure loved that "don't let the cuteness/girliness fool you" thing.
It feels like this game is supposed to be poking fun at anime but it just falls so flat it ends up just being just another example of cliche bullshit instead of a parody. The english dialogue and acting might just be making it look that way though.
The japanese opening is way better:
Some useless trivia: Paul Eiding (Colonel from Metal Gear Solid) voiced Gally and the Narrator, and John St. John (Duke Nukem!) voiced Danzaiver.
I've gotta say the gameplay is nothing special, but the game itself has a certain charisma - everyone who plays it never forgets about it.
Aside from Keiya and Ihadurca, I can't say any of those guys were bad choices for voicework (I mean english version). Ihadurca sounds way too old and Keiya sounds like he's choking on something half of the time.
Danzaiver story mode:
I heard this song:
was actually considered to be the opening of Gundam Wing, but discarded in favor of Rhythm Emotion. They sound kinda similar.
OUR NEW RULER!
Seriously though, how did they fuck up this badly? Every single line of the game is hilarious.
If I understand correctly HotD2 has no Japanese dub, and it was all done in English from the start. Did they just find a random bunch of foreigners in Japan and have them record using a badly written script?
>mfw I found out Danzaiver was voiced by the same guy who voiced Duke Nukem
the jap version is also better because they didnt censor pink boobs aka erel.
