Golden Claws were pretty badass in that. SNES remake only had it so the encounter happened in the pyramid. So since you leave the encounter rate is back to normal.

While not high Rhome (Dragon Quest 2) is a fucking chore to get thought. But it doesn't help you have enemies that can cast death spells and even one enemy that can cast sacrifice which completely kills your whole party 100%. And you have to get through that to get to the save point after a long annoying cave.
