Hi /vr/, I have a question about buying a composite to HDMI converter for my Nintendo 64. Before you even write a comment about saying how it will look like shit, input lag, etc: it's my only option right now. Anyway, I'm deciding between these two upscalers and I'm trying to decide which one to buy.
This one (the one I'm thinking of getting): http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00I482KZI/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1452324874&sr=8-2&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=enKo+Products&dpPl=1&dpID=41oPmvNCilL&ref=plSrch
Or this one: http://m.miniinthebox.com/en/mini-av-female-to-hdmi-female-converter-rca-to-hdmi-1080p-converter-for-tv-vhs-vcr-dvd-records_p1892143.html?currency=USD&litb_from=&adword_mt=&adword_ct=53357214134&adword_kw=&adword_pos=1o1&adword_pl=&adword_net=g&adword_tar=&adw_src_id=2014606789_261612014_15158854934_pla-102087482414&gclid=CI2Jw6ebnMoCFQsjHwodv_MDHQ
Like I said, it's really my only option right now and I just don't want to deal with RGB and all of that stuff. Thanks.
Just use the TV input.

I want it to look somewhat better though. It's either composite or the upscaler.
>>2904558
Then don;t buy cheap shit.
>>2904542
>it's my only option
No it's not. All those cheap upscalers are shit and starting >9000 threads a week asking the same question won't change the answer.

I know this, but I'm just wondering which one would give me a better result. I already know they're terrible, but I just want it to look slightly better. Just please answer my question.

also, use s-video instead, there is zero reason to use composite. http://www.micro-64.com/features/svideo.shtml

>taste every turd in the bowl and tell me which one tastes the least bad.
no u
At the end of the day I'm just skeptical this would produce better results than the TV's own upscaler. By all means let us know how it goes anon.

Try this instead
Just use a CRT until you can afford a good upscaler for fuck's sake
>It's my only option
How? What? How is it your only option. It is objectively inferior to almost any other choice you could make and probably more expensive. Are you just lazy? Too weak to carry a CRT by yourself? What?
It'll still look like shit with that, but you will have a little less input lag. Cheap scalers still do the same problems as TVs though, since they interpret 240p as 480i and deinterlace and then upscale.
I'd honestly suggest just using any old CRT, preferably with s-video. You *could* mod your N64 for RGB and go down that rabbit hole, but there are some unique characteristics about the N64 that make getting super crisp RGB not even worth it.
Hi /vr/, I have a question about buying a trepanning tool for my migraine headaches. Before you even write a comment about saying how it will kill me, doesn't actually work, etc: it's my only option right now. Anyway, I'm deciding between these two trepanners and I'm trying to decide which one to buy.

Like I said, it's really my only option right now and I just don't want to deal with medicine and all of that stuff. Thanks.

RGB is just a cable m8, What are you talking about?
>>2905357
ur rly dumb
>>2905357
>just a cable
Sweet! So I just buy a cable and I can play in RGB without a display that supports it or anything! Where do I plug that cable in? I hope it's not a place that's too uncomfortable sitting down.

best option: RGB mod your N64 and get a framemeister for upspacling
second best: RGB mod your N64 and lookf for a a way to connect it directly to your TV (scart, VGA..)
third best: RGB mod your N64 and get a RGB to component converter http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SCART-RGB-to-YUV-Component-Video-Converter-Scaler-/221156873851?hash=item337dfa167b:m:mL77q83PIBdVHyF2RvMlcww
fourth best: simply get a s-video-cable http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-best-S-video-cable-for-Nintendo-SNES-N64-Game-Cube-Svideo-SVHS-1-8m-6ft-/131368604399?hash=item1e962dd2ef:g:vn0AAOSwEppUPd4d
NO option: try to get a better picture quality by upscaling composite and even pay money for it. IT WON'T WORK. First you have to work on the signal source. After that you still can complain about your shitty scaler in your shitty TV. After that get a framemeister.
>>2904542
get a mememeister and use it with composite or s-video, it will be alright.
