I'm making a port of TheNight of the Sickle Weasel with the same tool that guy used to develop his game. It's so user friendly I don't understand why the Megadrive isn't filled with crappy homebrew visual novels, I only know Sacred Line and that Silent Hill one.

I did some Gameboy homebrew dev for a while. Never really finished a game, just a lot of demos. It's pretty simple stuff, honestly.

GINCS Visual Studio. Bear in mind it's kinda limited so no fancy stuff, but you can recreate sound novels, really simple visual novels and old text adventures just fine.
