Isn't there a really rare snake monster in Castlevania games?
>>

>>

I only know of the chode-like Tsuchinoko in Aria of Sorrow on GBA. It's not really that rare, but easy to miss because it only appears in one room about 25% or so of the time. It grants you a soul that makes the shop cheaper. Not ret tho. Was it seen in other games.
>>
>>2900441
Man I spent so much time looking for Feebas. Like days and days of fishing in every spot. Never could find him
>>
>>2900502
Apparently they're pretty common in one of the newer games, but they require an item hold trade to evolve.
>>
>>2900497
Pretty sure it only showed up in Aria.
>>
>>2900340
I hate when single player RPGs do this shit. If I wanted to grind like that, I'd play an MMO.

Stupidest fucking thing ever, the sword of kings wad at least arguably worth as there was still quite a bit of the game left that point.

Any other games that give you the best weapons so late into the game you basically can't use them?

I know in Mother 3, it took me so many battles just to get the rare enemies to appear, that I was extremely overleveled and didn't need the weapon drops anyway.

I ran into a shiny not too long ago.
I caught Lapras in Union Cave and I was going to go back to Violet to grab a low-level Zubat from Dark Cave because I wanted a Crobat.
On my way out of the cave, I ran into a shiny level 22 Zubat. Obviously I'd have preferred grabbing on under 22, but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. He was on my team for the rest of the game.

These guys are way more annoying, at least with the criminal caterpillar or the master criminal worm and the beanlings if you found them they gave you the experience. Not as bad as metal slimes but still annoying.
>>

I remember running into them. They are darn well near indestructible.
>>
>>2904249
Not rare enough, to be honest.
>>
>>2904276
Yeah i was thinking that but still, you only encounter them in 1 or 2 levels throughout the game.

i emulated pokemon's red and blue unpretentiously cheatfree on a course of several weekends on a side by side with a cousin, trading monsters and what not, at most we might have read a few faqs, and we still fought a few times most of these, so i guess they arent rare, they jusdt arent sparrow/carterpilar abundant

i vaguely remember this guy in ni no kuni. what is he originally from?
>>
>>2901746
>>2900686

honestly I think that was the point in mother 2 and 3, Itoi laughing at how pointless it is to grind rare drops because you end up overpowered anyway and the game ceases to be challenging.
>>
>>2900441
Aside from the red Gyarados the only shiny I've ever encountered legitimately is a Drowsy. That save has long since been wiped because the battery died
>>
>>2900310
Why post Metal Babble when Metal King Slime exists? You only play 1-3 or something?
>>
>>2907012
Man I never thought of it that way, definitely feels like something itoi would do. Even then in mother 3 most of the best equipment that requires grinding is found in chapter 7 so you at least use it for awhile, but the gutsy bat is probably just a fuck you to those who always need the best equipment in their games.
>>
>>2900481
Shit I've really beaten this guy earlier today. All my party was dead, safe for Jeff at 19 HP who bashed him for the last blow. I honestly didn't expect to win that, and moreso with Jeff.

In the first game that they appear, they show up on six random tiles out of 400 or so in a single route in the game. The good news is once you find a spot where they appear, they will keep appearing there as long as you don't leave the route (the spots are randomized every time you enter the route). So the best strat is to bring tons of balls, find the spot, and catch a ton of them. Make sure you get a female so you can breed them and thus never have to do the bs again. Also, you need a female with really high beauty stat in order to get a chance at a milotic, since they only evolve when their beauty is maxed. This is only coming from rse though, I know kothing of them past that because I got them then and made it a point to never bother catching them again.

Yes, but you need equipment to increase your speed, like Feather or Attack Scarf.

But the best thing to do is use an Yoshi Cookie against him - you will get a Kerokero Cola.

Itoi is a super troll, I love that guy. Toby learned well from him. What really stops me from trying Mother again is Mount Itoi. I read somewhere the devs (including Itoi) were so fucking tired of making this game that they were designing Mt Itoi and said "FUCK IT" and that's why it's so hard

You can find them in the cave of the past, in the second and third section. Their not difficult enemies but are infamous for their rarity and having a 1/128 chance of dropping ness's best weapon, the gutsy bat. Of coarse being available in only the final dungeon makes grinding for it not worth it in any way unless you wsnt the bragging rights, the rights to being able tp say you wasted your time.

I actually caught both legendary birds lugia and ho-oh in silver as shinies by 'legal means'. not sure what mechanism in the game allows for the player to encounter shinies, but it seemed to me that some games were more favoured by it than others. In the same run - the third at that time - through the game, I had encountered many wild shinies, minor pokemon, such as sentret and gligar, but also another rare pokmon: togepi! years later when i had another run through silver, I didn't encounter any shiny at all. I heard from some other people as well they haven't even seen any shiny but gyardos in any game. I think it's a hidden parameter that sets out the luck of the player when you begin the game and will affect your playthrough for the rest of the game to some extent.
