I like capcom's fighting games more, but that's honestly just because they're easier to play. I can do a Hadouken 99.9% of the time, but in KoF doing a simple QCF+P never feels like a sure thing to me.
I like SNK's non-fighting games more than Capcom's, though.

Why do people always compare SF to KOF? I get they're their biggers franchises, but SNK actual answer to SF was Fatal Fury, a series I also happen to like a lot and I think it doesn't get the attention it deserves.
I'm a SF guy, but never really got into Darkstalkers, Rival Schools or the crossover games and I like all the SNK franchises to some extend so I guess in the end I enjoy the later more.

I don't think it was a bad game exactly, but after having played it half a dozen times I also saw no reason to ever boot it up over a KoF or even SFIII if I was feeling Capcomy. A shame too, because I'd really been looking forward to it. When it first got announced sounded too good to be true.
Strangely I found Card Fighters Clash on the Neo Geo Pocket kind of fun.

Also both companies are awesome and have their different styles. Bugs the shit out of me, certain expectations on what moves beat other moves go out the window completely, and movement feels weird. yeah, I know it was Capcom developed, but the superficial feeling of an SNK game throws me off when I sit down to play it
And then there's SVC Chaos, which tries to be like a Capcom game and fails miserably (which is a shame, it looks great and other than how it plays, has a lot of charm to it -- and I love the SNK-style Capcom character sprites).

I really like CvS2 despite being ass at it but I kind of know how you feel. 6 buttons/the way cancels work sort of among other things feels more Capcom than SNK. That and, well, while the roster has pretty good SNK picks, the stronger ones tend to be mostly the Capcom fighters (unless we have motherfucking R4 Raiden)

I kind of want to hate SVC too but Shiki's fun as fuck to play as and the guests were pretty cool. And Hugo.
Breakers Revenge is also cool as fuck. Condor Pimpslap for life. Kizuna Encounter too. Used to mostly play Kim and Lion but I've recently tried out some Eagle and he's fun too. Shame his suplex is a hit I think?
>>2899870 If you love the NGPC stick, then I highly suggest getting a Neo Geo Pad 2 and a PS2 to USB adapter. It's based on the Neo Geo CD controller, so it has the marvelous clicky stick but has more buttons to account for the Playstation's extra buttons. With the USB adapter, it lets you use it with the PS3 and PC. It was only released in Japan, but the price range from what I saw on eBay was around 50 bucks, and they were usually selling with their original boxes.
There is also a Neo Geo Pad 3, which is USB only, but it has a PS3 home button. I prefer the Pad 2/USB adapter set up though, because it gives you more options. You can even get a PS2 to Dreamcast adapter, for clicky Dreamcast goodness.

I mean SNK made Garou my favourite fighting game of all time. However Capcom is still making fighting games. there are more capcom games that i like but i like a few SNK games more than capcom games. if that makes sense. hard to answer OP
King Leo and Gordon was my team. I never actually got anyone to fight me in this game, so I'm not sure if the playable version of Leo is super broken the same way Akuma would be, for example. Man, it was definitely a fun game though.

VF already crossed over with DOA, and they're both bringing up the rear in the 3D fighting scene.
Tekken is so immensely popular no other fighting game series comes close but for Street Fighter, hence their two crossovers and future third. Also their three RPG crossovers, but they threw VF a bone for two of them.
My problem with Capcom fighting games is the speed. Ok, in 1994 theres was no problem with a slow game because the genre was just starting. Fatal Fury and AoF were slow too. But after that they never ever increased the speed of the games. Even SFV looks like turtles hitting eachother, like "hey im gonna use a fliying kick, take your time to make your combo". Compare it with KOF 98 or any earlier 3D fighter from any system.

Same here. From the player feedback, it seems that the XIV team in SNK have a good idea of what they're doing despite the negative feedback on graphics but yeah. Not gonna hold my breath for it until I see something solid, or hell if I get to play it if ever.
Takashi Nishiyama then went on to found Dimps, which was then assigned to make SNK vs Capcom Match of the Millenium for the NGPC - couldn't have put it in better hands, the game came out perfect... if only it had gotten an arcade-grade version...
It still amazes me that they put together a whole comic of backstory for a game with a story as relatively simple as AoF.
The series is pretty much over, but i like how they kept Ryo and the Sakazakis eventful in other games, like having him take on the Mr Karate mantle in FF Wild Ambition, and the sitcom/romantic comedy that is the Sakazaki family and their relationship with King.
SNKP have also been releasing on Steam and plan to do even more of that, and are also developing KoF XIV with 50 characters - and according to recent interviews, they have plans to work on more of their other series.
