Has anyone figured out what actress played her? It's the live action Jill Valentine in the original 1996 Resident Evil. In the credits she's listed as "Inezh".

Here's a video:

Wasn't she in some softcore porn films, that's it?

Bump. I've always been curious about this too. Surely there must be some behind the scenes photos from the cutscene shoots for RE1.

Do you have a link? For...research purposes of course.

IDGAF really but when people speculate about the identities of these people they need to understand that the actors and voice actors aren't the same people.

Also whoever they were they all worked or lived in Japan in the 90s. That's where they recorded the voice overs and that's where they shot the FMV.

It's not gonna be some porn star that had an active career in the US ffs.
>>
>>2896315
Why not? If they don't find satisfactory actors in Japan, they're going to bring them over from the US. It's not like a plane ticket is a problem in a video game budget for Capcom, even in the mid 90's.

Do YOU know of many white actors who have active carreers in Japan ?

We are honestly not even sure they recorded everything in Japan desu. Although apparently McCulloch (VA of Chris) lived in Japan according to IMDB... Speaking of that, his work for voicing the main character of The Note is not shown on IMDB, does anynoe here who's a contributor to the site could add it? If not I'll see if I can do it myself...

She's pretty hot but

>softcore

If it even IS her mind you. Also the crimson head elder did some podcasts with the original VA's it's a good listen.
>>
>>2896451
I'm too lazy to search for it now, but I remember reading an interview with Shinji Mikami where he said that he didn't speak english when they were developing RE and he trought that japanese guys doing english VA sounded great.

here

>GC: The tone of Resident Evil is very… unique. It’s genuinely scary but the dialogue is so cheesy it actually acts to regulate the tension at certain points. Was that intentional or just an accident of translation?
[This whole question has Mikami and the translator giggling together, as they discuss it]

>SM: [laughs] That was just a coincidence. Because we’re Japanese we don’t really understand English, so the original script was in, of course, Japanese and someone translated it into English; and I didn’t know the quality of the translation really. Then the actual voice recording was done in Japan, and the voice actors live in Japan, and when they spoke the dialogue in English it was very fast so I couldn’t really follow. So I asked those actors to speak slower, so that’s what happened. [in English] It’s my mistake! [laughs]

That's not how that works. According to Barry Gjerde, there's a fair number of white english speaking people who live in Japan and do voice work that gets contracted and subcontracted out, usually for stuff like radio ads and corporate presentations, but back in the 90's, video games as well. No one 2-3 steps removed from Capcom is going to bother flying someone to Japan to read lines for 2 hours in a booth, especially not when there are recording studios everywhere in the US that would be cheaper to book someone at to read their lines.

Also, the McCulloch that lived in Japan is dead. Has been since 2000. Did they just rip something he recorded?

This. Especially in the mid 90s, when adding a video game to your portfolio wouldn't amount to much.
>>

Why do people still think this is witty?
>>
>>2897272
>Also, the McCulloch that lived in Japan is dead. Has been since 2000. Did they just rip something he recorded?

What do you mean? All the games he's voiced in date from before.

>>2897205
Yeah I've heard this explanation for other games. Basically they wanted English to sound like what Jap think it sound like, probably like the way they learn it in schools too. They didn't think "worldwide" audience much.
>>
>>2897305

Because you touch yourself at night
>>
>>2897456
>What do you mean? All the games he's voiced in date from before.

I mean "The Note" is so obscure the only thing I can find about it is either a movie from Hallmark 2007 or an Indy game from 2015.

Also, there's another Scott McCulloch floating around doing short films or whatever, and the two get confused a lot, so saying something like :
>his work for voicing the main character of The Note is not shown on IMDB, does anynoe here who's a contributor to the site could add it?
isn't particularly specific if you meant something besides the two "The Note"s that I mentioned.
>>
>>2897567
I mean this game

http://www.mobygames.com/game/playstation/note

He is in the credits of the game, from 1997; and it's listed on mobygames too, just not on IMDB.
I'll probably make an account and add him myself.

You should play that game just to hear him again.

She looks like an eastern European model who probably sucked a ton of little gook penis trying to make it but never quite did
>>
>>2897598
Just like your mom.
>>
>>2897598
It's probably not too far from the truth. Lots of foreigners being churned through the various talent agencies in Tokyo.

She's probably sitting somewhere with 3 kids now. Sometimes she'll let it slip that she did some modelling when she was younger. Maybe she'll remember working on that "Biohazard" thing, because the mosquitos were really annoying by the Tama river.

Most likely completely oblivious to the Resident Evil movies and their connection to her work 20 years ago.

Welcome newfriend, nice to see you fun post on your first day.
>>
>>2896451
> If they don't find satisfactory actors in Japan, they're going to bring them over from the US
Nah. There are agencies for gaijin acotrs and there are standard proceedures for hiring talent, going international is so far outside those standard proceedures it would never feasibly happen.
>Do YOU know of many white actors who have active carreers in Japan ?
Yeah. Foriegn talents are a thing. Look it up.

Were the live-action actors the same people who voiced the characters in-game? Their voices seemed kinda dubbed over when they spoke.
>>
>>2905209
As I recall, all of the live action people were dubbed over by the in-game VAs, except for Wesker, who was the same guy for both.

How well does the PC version of Resident Evil 1 run on a modern machine? Does it work on Windows 7/8/10?

Give it a try, it's pure luck.

On my old dualcore using XP it would run at 150% the speed. On this quadcore in win7 it runs totally fine.
It seems totally random really. Try compatibility modes if you're not successfull.

The PC version is underrated imo, it's smooth, you can skip doors, given the right setup it looks pretty good, you have two new bonus guns when beating the game which are a welcome change of pace from the Rocket Launcher...

However I believe it has the original Jap difficulty, meaning it would be easier than the original NTSC-U and PAL versions; although we'd have to double check that to be sure because difficulty in various versions of RE1 is a mess and has never been documented. It varies not only from release, but also from region.

Also it has Barry's mod, give that a try as well it's pretty fun. I wonder if Rebecca's mode will ever get finished.
>>
>>2914357
I always been curious about it, since it's the only version of the game to featured the colorized opening instead of the monochrome version that all the console releases had.
