My dream is to won a candy cab. I've looked for months and the few I've found are local pickup only on the other side of the country. Heck, price isn't a concern, there just aren't any to buy
Have I missed the train on this one? I'm never going to find one of these in bumfuck south east US
They pop up but if money's no object and you're patient you can import one from Japan they're relatively cheap there and most of your cost comes from the freight. You'll probably wait just as long just for an opportunity to pay probably just as much if someone in your area decides to list one.

If price ain't a concern contact the guy and offer to pay for shipping and throw in some extra.
>>4184768
Just import one from Japan, it will cost about the same as buying one from someone here

why did magazines ruin beautiful posters by plastering their dumb logos on them?
Some look less shitty than others.
Gamepro posters had that big ass logo, but club nintendo in latin america had good discrete logo that doesn't take a huge chunk of the pic.
So when you went to your friend's house and saw all the cool posters on his wall you would know he got them from Gamepro so you could go home and subscribe to it to get cool posters of your own.

Does Club Nintendo still have posters?

Hello /vr/. It's been a while since I've been looking for a computer game that I used to play when I was a kid. I will tell all the details that I can remember hoping that one of you can help me.
The game has a prison thematic and the main character is either trying to escape from it or enter it for some reason (it's more likely that the second is more accurate).
The main character is a small fat guy with big eyes and a prominent lower jaw (much bigger than the upper one). He wears a propeller beanie and wears normal shorts, shirt and shoes.
The first stage is the outside of the prison. It's a 2D game and there's a big ladder on the left bottom platform which allows the character to go all the way to the top. There are other platforms and the goal is to reach the watchtower on the top right side of the wall jumping from platforms to others (but there aren't many platforms, it's very simple).
There are ghosts of dead prisoners walking in some platforms and there's no ground but the sea with sharks.
The wall is tall and there's electric fence on the top of it. I think it's raining and it's at night.
The main character has a slingshot which can be used to shoot the ghosts to reach the watchtower.
The second stage is inside the prison I believe, the main color is orange. There are ladders and platforms again.
In the middle of the screen there's a big padlock, and on the bottom right platform there's a paper clip (or a diaper pin, I believe it can be used to open the padlock maybe). There's also a lizard-like yellowish guy on the background and he's walking from one side to the other.
I don't know anything else about the game, I was very young when I used to play it. It came in a CD with other games that my aunt received when she bought her first computer with a Windows 95.
The game that I had was a demo version and I remember that the name of the icon was "Arc demo". I couldn't find any game with this title, so maybe it's not correct. Can anybody help me?
Thats Arcade America. Loved it as a kid.

Bumping so OP sees your answer.

Ness' hat?
What are the original DOS games like and how do they compare to the remakes?
I don't know about the remakes but the originals are kind of complicated.
You have dozens of skills and spells that are completely useless or next to useless and the game system is hard to understand if you aren't familiar with the tabletalk rules and even then there are a lot of things that are handled differently.
The plot gets progressively worse and by 3 it stops making sense.
Encounters and events are presented as text so the 3D view feels lifeless, especially in 3 with its full 3D graphics.
Anyone else going?
Do you guys have retro cons where you live?
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooop, fffffffffffffuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkk.
Video Games Live went to a city I was living in, AFTER I left.....

i'm originally from LI, but haven't heard of this.
is it on LI because video games were invented there?
I'm from LI and I never even heard of this before

Am I retarded or just missing something? I'm using FCEUX to emulate Contra and I can't for the life of me get the '30 lives' code to work. Is it that it has to be put in at some very precise time or not too fast or is it somehow the emulation's fault?
>>4180949
What platform are you using?
If you're on linux and got it off main repos, a lot of major distros don't give a fuck about retro gaming and put manpower into shit like steam first.
One thing that'd be easy to try is using a different emu like nestopia or higan.
Some emus even need the actual game genie rom for gg codes and so on.
>>418094you have to input the code while the logo is scrolling towards the center of the screen and press start (the last input) when the logo is centered and the icon is set on "1 Player"
>>4180949
>Am I retarded?
Wrong thing to ask here anon.
I've never heard of this issue before, you sure you're remembering the code correctly?
I am posting installed Heavy Gear 1 and it's play disc since it is rare to get by. Any one who can do some magic (patch, fix etc) can try their hands on it. I know Heavy Gear 2 was brought up few years ago, it's time for the first game.

On my retro system the official 1.2 patch glitched up the glide renderer and turned performence into shit. I had to use the 1.1 patch instead.
