What's the best Super NES game?

http://www.strawpoll.me/12140775

Multiple choice votes allowed in poll. In other words, you can vote for more than one game.

They weren't original Super NES titles, and because Straw Poll only allows 30 slots, I didn't want to exclude a 16-bit exclusive to include a collection of NES games.

>Super C was released on the Wii, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console and even the goddamn NES Mini
>Contra III was also released on the Wii and Wii U
>Even the shitty MSX2 version of Contra was available in Japan on Wii and Wii U
>The iconic NES version of the first game that people are actually nostalgic for wasn't.
Was there any reason why Konami never released the original NES Contra on Nintendo's downloadable services? I heard it might have something to do with the Famicom version using a special mapper, but that wasn't an issue with Salamander and Gradius II apparently, which used similar mappers. Another speculation is the fact that Bill and Lance looked way too much like Arnie and Sly on the title screen, but that's not something that couldn't be fixed with a simple redrawing.
>inb4 paying for ROMs
I already have the ROMs for every regional version, I'm just genuinely curious why Konami hasn't re-released one of their most iconic games on modern platforms.

I don't think so. Xbox 360 only had the arcade version of Contra (which was also on a Nintendo DS compilation) and that's now on PS4 too.
http://www.hamster.co.jp/american_hamster/arcadearchives/contra.htm
>>
>>3746357
Nintendo could have the power to block the NES version from getting released elsewhere. Microsoft could have exclusivity rights to contra 1 for the Xbox arcade, banning it from any competitors.

Well, probably not exactly, because that would have allowed a loophole for contra to be on the NES mini, assuming nintendo didn't get lazy, which wouldn't make sense cause it's just a rom.

Anyone here got it?

Hi /vr/ fellows.

I´m trying to run an old DOS Game called Mechanized Assault and Exploration, but without sucess.

I already tried to run MAX on virtualized Win XP, Win 7, Win 98 and even DosBox, but all attempts failed. During the game, it simply stop to respond on a random turn, without any error messages.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Before Charon was discovered (1986) people didn't realize how small Pluto really was.
Uranus and Neptune were also shrouded in mystery before Voyager 2 reached them in 86 and 89 respectively.
Kuiper Belt Objects and the like were discovered even later.

What's a good starter retro console that does not for fun? Prefereably with an affordable flashcart that supports all games. I am thinking Gameboy or GBC (I really want both to play GB on a dot matrix)
Do they have a good flashcart? Are they generally affordable?

Pic unrelated, but CHOOSE YOUR CHARACTER

Shit I dunno. I lrobably wanted to shove in an extra idea or thought and lost it in the middle. Sorry, man, this semester is taking its toll.

I remember now. Does not cost an arm and a leg.
>>
>>3745551
Cheapest is Genesis or HSNES because they have the cheapest decent generic flashcarts. Generic Genesis flashcart has better compatibility plus the Genesis itself has backward compatibility with Master System and the flashcart loads all those games too.

Devices with integrated novel displays like GB/C are a special experience though and portability is nice. Its flashcart isn't outrageously expensive though so it's a fine choice too with a huge library. GBA flash cart is a bit cheaper and can run a GB/C emulator and NES emulator for a much bigger library at a lower cost but the emulation isn't perfect.

Nah, Nintendo babies just make the most noise. They think they're being funny when they post the "fart" meme over and over again while the actual collectors know about the differences between Genesis variants and the pros and cons of distortion or lack thereof on the fm chips. I pity children like you that wandered in from the /vg/ emulation thread.

Funny enough, our old friend the Wumpus is still relevant in discrete math, with the Wumpus World a good toy universe for formalization in first order predicate logic. As an older student, I bet I was the only person who knew the Wumpus in his past life of games written in BASIC and such.
