I need help remembering a game bros. It was a platformer on NES and I could have sworn you played as mickey mouse and one of the bosses was an alligator/crocoldile. I remember he would run back and forth on the platform and you had to dodge him. Now I want to say mickey mousecapade but I am pretty sure that doesnt have the boss I am talking about in it. This has been driving me nuts for years I played this NES game when I was like 5 years old and would really like to remember what it was please help
You posted it. The gator is the boss of level 2.
damn son where'd you find this?
>>3756812
really? fuck sakes, I played the first level of mouscapade and stopped cause it didnt seem familiar at all lol I guess it was that game then, thanks for confirmation
I'm looking for a top-down shooter that I played when I was five in a day-care somewhere near the Dallas Fort Worth area of Texas. I only have vague memories, but a screenshot would probably be more than sufficient to jar my memory. There was a candyland sort of level and either the loading or gameover screen had some sort of scene with the level depicted. Very cartoon-y in style. It at least had EGA or VGA graphics, definitely more color than just Cyan and Purple. I can't remember the PC itself all that well, so it may have been an early Mac for all I know.
tl;dr: basically the only childhood PC game that I can't find.
Not flying tigers, I suppose.

>so it may have been an early Mac for all I know
Or maybe an Amiga or Atari ST?
>>3756775
It would be helpful to start with an actual year, OP. What year were you five? :P
I'm doing an analysis on jrpg storytelling. I've always noticed that in a lot of jrpgs, they have a very unique control on story pacing, drama, and characterization. Is there a place where I can study this more? Basically, when I play games with stronger narratives from this genre, they tend to nearly play out like a dramatic tv show or an anime.
to study them you must
PLAY
them

This.

And play them in Japanese. Translations will tell you nothing about the original.

WTF is wrong with people

Different people are autistic about different things. Any particular setup is valid as long as it calms one's autism.
I think this aspect of the human mind is pretty fun.
>>3756605
The game play on them is suicide inducing desu, the controllers that come with them are complete garbage
The cartridges are the most expensive part, so people on /vr/ like to think they're all that matter.
They don't want to bother with the hassles of hardware accuracy, as long as they're able to show people that they have EarthBound.
Ironically, flat out emulation is more accurate than those things.
Anyone here ever beat this?
Got pretty far then stopped playing for no particular reason, great game

This dude beat in in a minute and 20 seconds

Not surprising at all. The fun in it for me was creating maps of the different areas and codifying how to get through certain puzzles like when you had to match sounds to get through a door, had to actually your imagination to give the sounds nicknames so you could remember them.
So what exactly was Necron and why did Square nearly ruin Final Fantasy IX by including it as the final boss in this game with absolutely no buildup???
>>3756456
Necron was supposed to be the embodiment of death. It's more poetic than you think and I'm not going to go into full detail because you could just look it up. But when Necrom dies he says he will always remain which says he will never truly vanish. Anyways, you come off as an idiot so deuces.
don't sweat it, OP, necron was totally gay as fuck
>>3756456
Necron was the manifistation of death, created by humans.
The whole idea around FFIX and the crystal, was that reality was being formed by what we thought to be real, and what we remembered.
Death is something everyone thinks about, and this is why Necron was created through the memory crystal.
As long as there is life, there has to be death, and Necron was just the harbinger of death, created by our thoughs about life and death.
This can clearly be seen with Ozma. Its an old summon, which is almost forgotten, and thus we cannot even see his final form.
All we see is a bubble of crappy colours, not appearing to have any meaning at all.
What's your favourite Game & Watch game?

Jesus Christ. This fucking game.
It's like Contra meets Prince of Persia. Holy fucking shit. This breaks every possible law of movie licenced games.
Hard as balls. Post strats because I am fucked.

I am posting a vid because otherwise no one will believe it. This is no-where near as easy as it looks.

Could it be? A movie-based game that's actually good? Ok, there's also Aladdin, Toy Story, Jurassic Park, and True Lies, so it's not that rare.
Looks totally nuts! Makes me want to try it.
I`ve never payed Baldur's Gate before, but I want to now. I was considering buying the "Enhanced Edition" on Steam but i`m not sure if it's the best emulation or not.
Can /vr/ point me in the right direction? Any specific mods or emulations that are better than the steam version?
Also, BG thread I guess
it's not fucking emulation. i'd like to point you in the right direction of researching before you type something out on an imageboard
>>3756225
wow that's a nice looking town, it reminds me of Kalm from FFVII
Is this what most of the game looks like?
Enhanced edition is dogshit. Play the original once, then again if you wish with BGT.
Use an archer main character on your first playthrough. By judicious kiting (pause helps with this) you can kite and kill anything by taking turns shooting arrows and running around with several characters.
The Sleep spell and the Wand of Sleep will also help immensely throughout the game.
Tell me about the Transfer Pak /vr/, why does the EU version have two different colored stickers?
Is it the difference of Transfer Paks included with Pokemon Stadium vs. seperately sold ones or does it depent on the country or what is the reason for it?
And yes they are all originals.
>>3756203
Sure the middle didn't just fade in the sun?
because products aren't made in ideal circumstances but rather in a factory where production resources have to be delivered and sometimes compromises have to be made to account for the availability of something as simple as the dye used in printing or plastic molding.
>>3756203
no difference i
Do you not recognize me, brother? Am I so changed?
pure keks
>>3755952
this game spooked me hard when I was a kid
i hated the silenced cathedral the most, the combat music was just too stressful
the moon from majora's mask really let itself go
Why haven't you played this yet?
I tried, but I couldn't get past the second or third boss. I just can't wrangle the controls for some reason
>>3755654
>kid just discovered the game
>thinks it's obscure
lol
>>3755654
But I have, OP. No-miss even. I have to say it gets pretty easy once you learn how broken Counter Force and the zip dash are.
ITT: Games with extremely well designed first levels. I'll start.
SMB
Contra Hard Corps first level feels like you went straight to 100, fuck starting at 0
is this any good?
>>3755503
Yeah it's pretty good. Better with a mouse though.
