Could anyone definitively stop Mr. Domino?
Yeah, your mom.
(cuz she's so fat)

Another Mr. Domino.
No.
Metal Gear could not stop Mr. Domino.
Master Chef could not stop Mr. Domino.
Super Sonic with all 7 Choas Emeralds would not stop Mr. Domino.
Doom Guy aka Dumb Guy did not stop Mr. Domino.
What's a good vintage RPG with an expansive world with multiple towns and locations to explore? Preferably a Japanese RPG for PS1 or SNES.
Pic not related, Alundra was fun but I found the map tiny

I just spent 2 hours trying to find the money changer and I still can't find him. Fuck this game. How the hell did you find the money changer in 1989? I can't even do it now
>Money changers
Games were designed to be exceptionally difficult for two main reasons: To artificially prolong the experience so you ignore the fact that you just spend today's equivalent of $60 on a 2 hour game, and so you buy the strategy guides/subscribe to a gaming magazine.

you could also read the walkthrough at a big newstand. I used to go the the train-station main news stand and read the other mags as I could only afford to buy one or two per month.
Little Big Adventure/Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure Playstation port.
Actually there's two ports, the first, japanese one, that sucks, and the second, the Euro port, that features better graphics and some gameplay tweaks.

I spent forever looking for the PS1 version of the game just to eventually realize there was no American version. I tried to play the DOS version but got stuck and bored after a while.
I have the Playstation port of LBA as I'm in a PAL region and it's my favourite all time game. This came out in 1997 when the original is from 1994 (an amazing accomplishment for that year).
It fixes up a lot of the frustrations with the PC original like losing health when you run into walls and making it easier to change between attitudes.
There is a glitch with the CD audio when playing it on a PS3 though and I recommend turning off CD audio during certain parts of the game.
Pocket Fighter for Wonder Swan
SNES, PS1 or GBA?
Is this still not common knowledge? Or are you just trying to start a conversation?
PS is the best version, mostly because of the improvements on the battle system, extra content and better fan translation.
Don't touch the GBA version, it's a weird PS/SNES port mix that does everything wrong. It's slow, ugly, sounds terrible, and the translation may as well be worse than Dejap's version.

PC retro gamers, what is your favourite/memorable old CPU? Mine is 386DX, 40 Mhz, made for my first encounter with a PC and computer games. Also the fastest 386 processor.
IBM 486 SL/2 66. first processor that i played Wolfenstein 3D and Doom on.

Did Nintendo really invent all the things that Reggie says they did in the vid?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhTL41TPiAY
Claiming that Nintendo invented saving or made it mainstream is ridiculous.
Every damn computer game had saving because floppies allowed it.
A lot of hardware innovation was done in arcades for obvious reasons.
wtf i hate nintendo now
>>3767586
They did invent saving on a cartridge system with the battery internal to the cartridge. The FDS used a type of floppy that it could save with though
What was Jaguar's biggest downfall? Some serious untapped potential, but it was never given the chance because of favoritism.

It looks like a toilet and wasn't 64 bit.

I have a nice Jag collection and love Atari to death, but it is a legitimately bad system. The add-on should've been built into the thing in the first place. The controller is very comfortable, but the numpad is stupid. The bit-wars angle was a mistake. Western consoles always suffered a lack of Japanese support, and Japan was knocking everything out of the park in the 90s. The remakes of their arcade classics were okay, but hardly the kind of thing you wanted to drop full price on. Missile Command 3D came out the same year as Chrono Trigger. The presentation just wasn't there. And of course it was overpriced before being bargain-binned.
I think the Jaguar story starts and ends with the branding. Atari was legendary enough to guarantee some sales but also had left a bad taste in the mouths of consumers and had been notably absent from the console scene for two whole generations. Cartridges were also a mistake, one Nintendo ignored. In hindsight the best Atari could have done would have been to have consolized the ST and put that advertising budget they obviously had into marketing that, featuring tricked out new-school versions of their classic IPs. Amiga was also marketing a consolized CD based Amiga at the time and it didn't go so well for them but they didn't have Space Invaders, Tempest, Frogger etc. Maybe they could have even sucked David Crane's dick and got Activision as a 2nd party developer.
They still would have gotten the corporate curbstomp from Sony but it would have been better than Jaguar
For the older games without automaps, use software or map it out by hand?
>>3767501
Memorize it.
But if you want a good lightweight mapping tool then look here, you can even download it for offline use: http://www.oldgames.sk/dungeon-mapper/
So far I've used paper.

Looks indeed cool.
But where is the downloadlink for offline? Looks webonly for me.
Does anyone have any experience with the GDEMU drives for Dreamcast? I have a couple with bad GD drives and was thinking about buying one.

I too want one. On Io's page it seems like there may be a new small batch to be opened up for orders around February, and possibly a larger one around May. I am eagerly awaiting for them, even though my drives are still functional, but it seems nice to reduce the noise the console makes (it will still have the fan noise as that is required for the whole system to turn on.
I am also considering those 3D printed trays for these drive replacements. Since I do not have any 3D printers, and will likely have to rely on the 3D hubs printing service, has anyone used that for these trays? About how much do they cost shipped?
>>3767414
Someone I know of got a GDemu. He was the one to introduce me to the device/fan project. I get so jealous of the love he has for it. I am eagerly awaiting for the next availability window from Io.
>>3767414
I'm not a big fan of the Dreamcast so I wouldn't get one for 160$.
What I know is that the Serial Adapter is very laggy on every games.
I also know that DCIO is on the way (it is PSIO for the Dreamcast)
This one might be much cheaper.
I do have a Saturn Rhea and it works really fine.
I was looking up stuff done by Technosoft and came across Neorude which are some point and click style RPGs on Playstation. I really can't find much online about them, and they'res no translations of the games that I know of. It just seems interesting that they made an RPG series. Has anyone on /vr/ played these? Are they worth checking out?
Also Technosoft/Tecno Soft thread

Lookin for some classic action adventure games, similar to MG2; items and weapons to collect, bosses to defeat, neat story.
System Shock 1 and Super Metroid are my favs for this. Looking for lesser known titles, so no Zeldas.

Skip MG1 unless you are REALLY dead set on experiencing what little story there is first hand. It's not that it's bad necessarily, but if you have MG2 on hand, and can emulate Ghost Babel there's no point really.

Hello gentlemen, I am currently working on a Tetris Attack and I was looking for game's sprites.
I found on the net this link:
https://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/tetrisattack/
But I would prefer to have individual sprites instead of packs.
Thanks in advance if anyone knows a website with these delicious sprites or have them stored and be willing to share.

working on a what exactly
There's already passwords out there for every stage in the game. Just get any emulator that lets you turn off layers and capture the sprites yourself.
