Evangelion vidya.
Did you play any?
>>3768131
I played the one on N64, it was okay if a little clunky.
>>3768160
That's also the only retro Eva game I've played, unless you count its appearances in SRWF and Alpha.
>>3768131
I played the strip mahjong games for Windows. Direct from Gainax, a crossover with a few of their franchises. I was amused with Asuka getting jealous that Nadia was pretty sexually aggressive with Shinji.
I also played on PC the first Iron Maiden Girlfriend visual novel. Story was nice featuring a new character named Kirishima Mana, who was also sexually aggressive with Ikari, but sadly she was portrayed by the typical Hayashibara energy. I didn't experience the newer version that was on PS2 which had new endings such as Kirishima having a one night stand with Shinji before running away or the one where they do it in a love hotel then both decide to leave Tokyo-3. I haven't played many visual novels, and they really aren't my thing, but this game was okay.
How did they get away with it and managed to sneak this in?
Video games that somehow got past censorship thread.
Are you retarded?
OP is literally 14 years old.

This is just bad translation.
You might have heard the GameBoy Color games Oracle of Seasons and Ages were originally planned to be a 3 part game. A world for each piece of the triforce and one of the goddesses.
The Oracle of Seasons, Din, is in the land of Holodrum. You use of Rod of Seasons to change the map and collect the 8 Essences of Nature.
The Oracle of Ages, Nayru, is in the land of Labrynna. You use the Harp of Ages to travel between time and collect the 8 Essences of Time.
The Oracle of Secrets, Farore, manages your passwords between games with her book of memory inside the Maku Tree.
If Oracle of Secrets had been a game, what would it's unique tool mechanic have been?
>>3767731
>If Oracle of Secrets had been a game, what would it's unique tool mechanic have been?
The truth behind this is actually known already.
The game would have featured Farore as its oracle, and was originally set to be centered around time travel and puzzles concerning the time of day. The puzzles were all to be focused on time, and some were unable to be solved outside of a specific time of day. Mystical Seed of Wisdom, which eventually became Oracle of Ages, originally had the theme of color, with each event and puzzle relating to color in some way. This was eventually scrapped and used for a bit of Link's Awakening DX instead, thus Oracle of Ages took on the previous Time based theme of the cancelled game.
>>3767731
Fun fact, the main reason for the cancellation was because they couldn't figure out how to make a 3 way password system work. The devs got tired of the debug process and just said "Fuck it, we're making 2 now."
>Oracle of Ages/Seasons are my favorite Zelda games!
Said no one ever.
>1995
>go down to local game store with dad
>browse through snes games
>see this box with a cool mech on it (don't even know what a mech is at the time)
>it's Metal Warriors
>buy it entirely based on the box
>we eat ice cream across the street before going home
>absolutely love the game
>1999
>huge RE fan
>played through RE1 and RE2 countless times
>was hyped for RE3
>Tell my dad to buy it for me on launch
>he seems reluctant but I pressure him
>get the game and enjoy it
>later find out he prioritized the game over rent and was behind
>felt so guilty that I promise to buy my own games afterwards.
>1993
>go to toys r us
>going to buy my first game ever with my own money
>nervous that I will fuck it up
>pick pic related by cover alone
Best decision by cover I've ever made. Still have my original copy CiB.
>Was 10 years old
>Actually a pokefag (I'm ashamed today)
>Saw a 4in1 Pokemon game for Famicom
>Be idiot kid that didn't know anything and thought it was legit
>Swapped Super Mario Bros 3. + $70 for the cartdridge
>I wanted it so badly I stole money to make the exchange
>Obviously it was 4 unlicensed platformer Pokemon games, broken as fuck
I guess I deserved it
There was actually a "bug" in the Pikachu game where you would pause the game and become invincible and go through walls

Your dad is a true hero.
Metal Warriors was one of my favorites for Super Nintendo. I used to play it for hours with my cousin.
>>3766561
What did he mean by this?
>>3766561
=D
are they really such a problem for retro gaming?
>>3765751
Dumb question gets dumb answer.
HURR NO
Yes. Increased supply isn't even reducing prices of games. It's cancer. Hope this helped.
>scalping
>for retro gaming
How does that even work?
The closest thing I could imagine to this would be if somebody bought out every copy of a game under a certain price to artificially decrease supply.
Good afternoon /vr/. I recently picked up a Raspberry Pi to use as an emulator. What drew me to it was the composite output so I could play games on a CRT. Are there any guides for configuring the emulators so they look as authentic as possible to the real thing?
Pic related, my retro station.
Step one is killing yourself

Hello pal.
This is what I would do:
1. Order a PI2SCART
(http://arcadeforge.net/PiJamma/PI2SCART-Preorder::264.html?language=en)
2. Get a SCART M/M cable and a RCA M/M cable on Aliexpress
3. Breakout the SCART to Composite using a cheap chinese adaptor
This is the only way you could get 240p on composite, as the Raspberry Pi's firmware locks the composite output in 480i which upscales the picture and causes it to flicker.

Alternatively, hack your Wii then play NES emulators on it

Final Fight 3 > Streets of Rage 2 > Final Fight (Arcade) > Streets of Rage 3 > Final Fight 2 > Streets of Rage 1 > Final Fight 1 (SNES)
Agreed? Agreed
Final Fight (Arcade) > the miserable rest
>No Final Fight Sega CD
>3 enemies on screen limit
LOL, no
Is this a good game to play solo and unlock stuff or is it a waste of time and should be played competitively?
All fighting games are a waste of time when played vs the CPU.
Relevant link explaining the unlock system

It's weird.
>>3764840
A fun game is fun regardless, but like the anon above me said, fighting the cpu is never as fun as another person.
MMX series is probably one of the weakest ever. X1 is the only solid game in the series. X2-3 aren't very good. X4 onwards they get worse and worse.
So does this mean that the MMX games are the most overated series ever?
>>3764441
X2 is the best one M8.
I would rate them
2 > 1 > 4 > 3 > 5 > 6 > 8 > 7
Do you realize yours are just personal opinions and shouldn't take them as absolute true facts?
There're lots of things I don't like but I think "Hey, there must be a reason this is overrated, isn't it?"
MMX is legit good by its own merits not without a few obvious bad games.
>>3764445
I disagree, I consider X1 to be superior to X2. Please tell me why you think X2 is better. I concede Wheel Gator is probably the coolest Megaman enemy ever though.
> "Last spring, McCleskey sold three cartridges to a buyer in South Korea for forty-five thousand dollars"
FORTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARIDOOS
> This is not the stock market,” one Neo-Geo.com user wrote in a recent thread. “It’s plastic clutter lowlife and we’re all casualties of nostalgia
http://www.newyorker.com/tech/elements/the-unexpectedly-high-stakes-world-of-neo-geo-collecting
These articles are pure cancer. Most readers probably fall into either the "wow, what a bunch of losers" category or a "I don't give a shit about games, but them NeoGeo games sure seem like a good investment to add to my portfolio! Time to head to ebay."
>>3764004
NEO GEO AES autists are such wankers I mean at least sperg over the finer system such as the CP System II
It's funnier when you realize these cancerous loonies pay FORTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARIDOOS for fake carts like Aero Fighters 3. It is hysterical to think that these folks have blown annual salaries on fucking bootlegs made to separate those suckers from their cash.
Whats the best way to play Metal Gear Solid? Should i just pay the 50 ish dollars for a copy of it and a PSone?
>>3763659
Yes, if you're dumb and can't emulate
>>3763668
If i buy the game, i feel like i have a compulsion to finish it. When i emulate it, i don't feel anything. I rarely finish games i don't buy.

Ay, Repairman Maryo is back.
Why would a Gameboy cartridge suddenly stop working, other than being dirty? My first GBC cart, Mortal Kombat 4, stopped working years ago. I've cleaned it repeatedly (the contacts are pristine) and visually inspected the circuit board, but nothing looks off. When I try to boot it, I get stuck at the Game Boy logo, with the Nintendo logo corrupted. Is the cart a lost cause?

Ayyy lmao
Play a game from your backlog.

I guess I'll play Socks... nah!

Im on my third playthrough of SD3 in like a month. I'm being comprehensive about beating it.
Using Kevin, Lise, Carlie right now just to do all 3 final dungeons.
Game gets pretty damn boring 3 times in a row. It's also easy as heck. About to hit the subzero snowfield and see how it goes.
Im thinking of trying to do some autistic stuff next, like maxing out everything in Secret of Mana, or hitting level 99 in FF7.
