What's your favorite belt scroller, /vr/?
like a conveyor belt?
>>3782961
This is one of those memes that I didn't even notice disappeared.
Did Double Dragon IV end up being good?
Out of every belt scroller I've played, Shadow over Mystara is the one I've felt has the most complexity without being a long game. Love the combat and how close each character is to their D&D class. I really need to unseal my PS3 copy.

I recently bought an NES and 30 games bundled together for90 dollars. While I was looking through the games, I decided to check up on the value of some of them through pricecharting. I was surprised to see Donkey Kong has risen in price so much. Any reason why? I would never think to hunt down a copy of DK in a million years on the NES.
Retro games bubble
It'll burst in the next five years like every other period of overvaluation in market history.
>>3782431
was curious and decided to look up price and good lord!
That's worse then smb being sold for over $2.50
>>3782437
I assume you are right. I hope it bursts and only actually rare games fetch a high price.
>>3782440
My thoughts exactly. Over 30 dollars for Donkey Kong on the NES? Seems extremely silly.
>Bubble Bobble
>Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2
>Bubble Bobble Part 2
>Bubble Bobble II
>>3781968
The developer took the same contract with the Devil as Gaben did.
What the fuck is with those names
>>3781968
>I just listened to Retrocucks
i know its not a rare game, bought it for $5 on a store.
should i open it? :p
>>3781720
yes, and post pictures of you doing it on some place like NintendoAge so they get all butthurt about it
are you going toplay it?
>>3781726
of course, if i open it.
So I'd like to make a home emulation station to hook up to my TV, but I'm trying to pick the right kinda machine.
Intially thought of getting a Raspberry Pi and running Retropie on it, but would that be able to handle a PS1 game like Policenauts?
Would I be better off with a small custom built PC?
Mostly I wanna use it for PC Engine, 8-16 bit stuff, and maybe some Dreamcast stuff.
Dreamcast, realistically, should be on a more powerful platform.
However, RPI3 does up to PS1 near-flawlessly on Recalbox.
I love mine.
>>3781558
A friend of mine just wanted DC emulation just for Jojo, but shouldn't MAME handle that fine?
>>3781578
MAME would handle it better than DC
Do you consider the PC Engine/TruborGrafx 16 a 3rd gen system or a 4th gen system?
>>3781354
It was dank as fuck that's all which matters
>>3781354
3.5 gen.
I consider it the first generation of NEC's home consoles.
I opened my original DMG Gameboy to prepare a backlight mod, and when I wanted to screw the LCD back together, like a blind idiot I screwed into that hole that clearly states that it is not for a screw. (see photo) Now my LCD has a black mark because of it! What should I do?
>>3781195
Kek what a dumbass. Just buy a new one and don't mod it, you're obviously not qualified
Either build a time machine or buy a new screen.
Buy a new screen.
In other words, can a DOS machine run any emulators worth bothering with?
What about a Windows 98 and Pentium III build?
What about a Win2K and Athlon single core build?
What about a pre-OSX PPC mac?
What about an OSX era PPC mac?
Discuss what level of emulation quality you can get from different types of 'toaster' PC.
Which consoles, handhelds, 80s PCs, and arcade cabinets can each platform reliably handle?
Nesticle and Stella. There are probably MAME builds too. I played around with the idea of making cheap little arcade cabs out of old laptops but these days I'd probably use Raspberry Pi.
Am I missing something here? Why would you EMULATE on an actual old PC?
>>3781098
Why wouldn't u?
That's how I played all my nes games back then
Can stealth game ever be this good again?
>>3780752
Amnesia and Outlast did first person stealth quite well.
>>3780752
This game definitely has god-tier missions, but fuck, you can't defend the two missions which rehash already existing maps, it sucks too much. It almost ruins the game completely for me, even though it's 2 out of 13 missions. Also Trail of Blood is out of place when compared to the other missions.
>>3780752
I think Thief 1 was better. Also the Splinter Cell series up to Chaos Theory is very clearly inspired by Thief and I would argue they're on par with the first two Thief games.
Man, FUCK THIS GAME
CV is truly the worst classic RE
Shoulda saved some explosive bolts.
This guy didn't give me too much trouble but I've been stuck on the final boss with only the handgun, knife and 1 green herb for months.
CV has too many points of no return that will completely fuck you over. Why they messed with the item-boxes I'll never know.
>>3780284
If I recall, Tyrant is on both HP and a timer to prevent an unwinnable situation, knife notwithstanding. I saw something to this effect during a run on Twitch.
But yeah that's a hard fight and CV is the weakest classic RE.
>>3780284
>dat Tyrant ass
Yo i got this game a little while ago and i really dont understand the display cover function, I moved one of my mercs. Into an area that was green (it was kind of out in the open but I assumed it was ok because it's green) and she got smack by a 12 gauge.
Also whats some similar games to this? I love it. Is xcom similar? I was thinking of trying it based just on that assumption.
>>3780259
>i really dont understand the display cover function
it's basically field of vision of enemies
green/no color - unseen
yellow - unseen if crouched or prone
orange - unseen if prone
red - seen
but note that the cover display shows what is seen only by enemies that you currently see. if you don't see an enemy, you won't see his vision
vanilla JA2 has 360' FOV's iirc, but the 1.13 mod adds tunnel vision so you can actually sneak up behind enemies
>>3780259
x-com is like Jagged Alliance but IMO gives you more room to fuck around since soldiers are expendable as fuck. And once you get used to the base game there are mods which add JA2-tier amounts of weaponry to have fun with. I love x-com.
>>3780259
I am more focused more on what my mercs can see, as opposed to how they can be seen, so I hit the END key much more than I hit the DELETE key
Being prone helps not getting hit
My fucking ass this is why he won't release it. He just wants to be a little faggot jew and get Euro from people.
>>3779735
>>3779735
What is this exactly?
>>3779757
A thrird-party BIOS for NeoGeo.
>we have accurate Gamecube emulation
>we have accurate Wii emulation
>we are on our way to accurate WiiU emulation
>Nintendo 64 emulation is still a mess
What went so fucking wrong?
N64 is too powerful for PC to handle
>>3779695
Newer consoles are just glorified butchered PCs.
>>3779695
>>we have accurate Gamecube emulation
>>we have accurate Wii emulation
>>we are on our way to accurate WiiU emulation
It's not "accurate" if you have to rely on DirectX and OpenGL to make assloads of approximations.
What was the Jaguar truly capable of?
I'm particularly intrigued by its 3D capabilities.
In theory, could it have produced anything close to the "proper" 5th Generation consoles?
"Skyhammer" looks kind of impressive.
>>3779542
The Atari Jaguar is about as powerful as the Playstation, so it could have done pretty well with 3D games. The problem was is that the console was hell to develop on, so not many games took full potential of the hardware. If it didn't have so many problems regarding game development, its could've been a good competitor the PS1
>>3779562
>The Atari Jaguar is about as powerful as the Playstation,
It's nowhere near as strong. Maybe a fifth as powerful at best.
>>3779542
say what you want to, but i don't recall seeing no repurposed virtual boys hanging next to the operating table as i drift into a medically induced coma...also, did anyone actually ever see one of these dental units in use?
