I used to play the hell out of the original arcade version when I was a kid. I don't know why but I loved it. That and pinball were the bane of the change in my mother's purse.

As a bonus, 65c816 is backwards compatible with 6502, so you already have the knowledge to program basic games.

Atari 2600 is probably the only console that doesnt benefit from playing on the original hardware. Also the games are so primitive, theres no reason to buy them in the first place. Why did you bought them anon?

I have it on the PS4. The Dualshock's touchpad is a lot easier to use on games like Centipede and Pong than the standard D-pad or analog stick.

It's a bit of a catch-22.

The fanmade translation patch for the GBA version is far better and more faithful to the original script than the official translation, and also has a lot more offbeat Earthbound-style humor, whereas the official version is very dry.

The downside is, the GBA version's sound quality is godawful compared to the NES original. It sucks that there's no way to patch the superior fan translation onto the NES ROM.

Yeah dude, it's a game like no other. I haven't played anything that comes close to the level of realism the characters in that game had. The dialogue and voice acting alone push it into one of my favourite PS1 games of all time, despite only finding it about a year ago. I weep for what could have been, Shadowhearts was tresh

I like the voice acting and how fluid the characters seem in cutscenes

i love it.
the setting and atmosphere was tops, the voice acting was that type of good acting you could only get at the time, and the story is really great weird horror.
the gameplay is the only real problem, and you can really fuck yourself over, but it's manageable.

Modding I'd guess, the Famicoms controllers are deteachable from the inside of the console, maybe someone made a connector that allows it to be inserted on anything that uses the NES controller port

Well you could splice real ones into NES controller extension cables but Hudson and Sansui both made knock off Famicom controllers that also got imported with NES plugs on them. These used to be $3 junk controllers just like 3 years ago but now thanks to people like you they seem to all be listed at $40.

Few games grabbed me like OoT did the first time I played it. Granted, I played it when I was 11, and everything seems cooler when you're a kid, but I had played MM, LA, and the Oracle games before OoT, so I didn't love it just because it was my first Zelda or anything like that.

OoT gets weaker every time I replay it though, while MM gets stronger, to the point that I now think that MM is Nintendo's true masterpiece. Now *that's* a game that they'll never be able to top. I can't see them ever taking a risk like that again.
