>FF7 Remake is just a FF7 skin over FF15 gameplay
Whelp nothing to see here.
I can't stand turn-based combat so personally I'm on board with this.
I'll be amused if it turns out you can only control cloud at all times
what a shitfest
Trying to remember all the cool games I used to play on the pc as a kid in the 90's. What do you remember playing? I can only remember a few..Full throttle, Oddworld, Day of the Tentacle, the oregon trail, doom, and quake.
Fate of Atlantis, Monkey Island 2, Speed Racer, Strike Commander, Descent.

Toonstruck, screamer, lego island, descent, 3-D body adventure

>>ywn have a massive video game collection filled with thousands of titles from all generations and hundreds of consoles at your fingertips to play whenever you feel like it.
Why even live?
>>3810829
75% of games ever produced are absolute garbage
>>3810839
this and that seems like hell honestly. Like, I collect games, but I only get the ones I'll actually play / get cheap. Having all these options and nothing to want or work towards.
>>3810829
>implying i would honestly want that outside of scalping the collection
Just buy consoles and flashcart/mod them. It's the same experience with more convenience.
what the fuck were they thinking when the approved the art for this release? honestly looks like some middle school deviant art shit
they need to take a cue from Data Discs (or they should've had, at least)
It's a gag cover for a video game soundtrack, my man.
>>3810745
meh.
why would they want to make it a gag cover? releasing it with half way decent artwork wouldn't be taking yourself too seriously, I don't think.
pic related, as data discs always knocks it out of the park every time.

the same people, iam8bit, did the battletoads one and that one looks pretty awesome imo
>two SWAT teams
>two helicopters
>each member has their own uniform with no
>each armed with a unique set of weapon, including grenade launchers
>group photo shows them with assault rifles and shotguns
>Team has at least one rocket launcher
>Each member has their own unique specialty, from chemistry,
What in the flying hell did a small mid-western town need all this? This is the kind of team you'd use to take on cartels in south/central America.
Rule of cool.
Jill was also ex-Delta Force, although she's barely 25, and Delta Force doesn't accept women.
I want a game where we main as the dude kneeling in front of Forest. Dude is a random nobody who left the squad before the mansion incident. Lucky fucker, is what he is.

I'm really curious about games like Ys and I was wondering where to start. The NES games? Is there a better version that is easy to emulate?
What's with Ys in general?
Get a Wii
Soft Mod it
Get WiiMednafen
Download a PC Engine Copy of Ys Books 1 & 2
There's an image going around telling you what to play but I don't have it so I'll just tell you.
Definitely play:
>Ys 1&2 Chronicles+ (PC)
>Ys: Oath in Felghana (complete remake of Ys 3, plays nothing like Ys 3, often considered the best game in the series) (PC)
>Ys Origin (Ys 0 basically, my personal favorite) (PC)
>Ys Seven (PSP, there's a Chinese PC version but just emulate the PSP version)
Maybe play:
>Ys: Memories of Celceta (remake of 4: Dawn of Ys, but I haven't played it because I don't have a Vita, so I don't know much about it) (Vita)
>Ys 4: Dawn of Ys (decent game that might be worth playing even though it's been remade) (PCE)
>Ys 5 (first Ys game with an attack button, SNES exclusive for some reason, it's one of the most just okay games I've ever played) (SNES)
>Ys 6 (laid the foundation for Oath and Origin, but much worse than both, kind of a tedious game, you can fuck yourself over past a point of no return, you still might like it)

thanks man, I'll try to get them on steam soon
So I'm going to load more games onto my mini NES. I'm not doing that 'entire nes library' bullshit. So let's do a list thread.
List 30 NES games you would/have/will add to an NES. Again, this is to add to the library, not replace. Here's my 30:
Batman
Battletoads & Double Dragon
Battletoads
Blaster Master
Bomberman 1,2
Castlevania III
Contra
Crystalis
Duck Tales
Guardian Legend
Gun.Smoke
Little Mermaid
Little Samson
Mega Man 1,3,4,5,6
Metal Gear
Metal Storm
Mickey Mousecapade
New Ghostbusters II
Rad Racer
Sesame Street 123
Startropics 2
TNMT 1,2,3
Alien Syndrome
A few were requests from my wife, and a few for my kids. About half of these I played in my childhood, and the other half I have played and liked since then.
So, /vr/ what 30 NES games would you add to yours?
>>3815729
Bionic Commando and Solar Jetman are two games that I would definitely add.
>>3815729
Won't list 30 because fuck you
Earthbound for NES is actually good once you get the hang of it
Shatterhand
Dragon Quest 3/4
Renegade
Mighty Final Fight
For the rest see pic

Which buildings should I search the dumpsters of to find retro hardware?
What kind of businesses or institutions have e-waste recycling bins?
What phrases should I use to social engineer these normies so they give the hardware to me instead of sending it to be "recycled" (sent to Africa on container ships where niggers smash them with rocks for their copper content and then throw them into the river)?
Would prefer not to have to pay money.
>>3818937
>Would prefer not to have to pay money.
don't be a jew and don't screw people out of their shit.
Go to a goodwill or other thrift stores and look around.
>>3818937
what i want is a tower with all sorts of heritage inputs, disc drives and flash card ports but i want it to run something better than the shit my middle school library
>>3818937
Aren't we past the point where people are throwing away retro computers? Most computers people are trying to get rid of have windows XP or vista on it.
"Hey, that's pretty damn good." Edition.
I'll start out.

I actually bought a 3DS a few years ago, back when they first did the whole video thing and were pushing those as adverts for everyone. I bought that soundtrack afterwards when they finished it.
Really good shit.
>>3818887
I liked that, actually. I never got into Ninja Gaiden as much as I probably should have, but the soundtracks were never bad, in my opinion.
Is there a two player smb hack? Running nestopia on my old thinkpad. I have two nes controllers and I thought it would be fun to do. If not what is the earliest Super Mario game that has two player?
the arcade game mario bros. If you want a two player side scroller, the "new super mario" games do that.
>>3817807
gg thank you
>>3817794
I believe the earliest version of SMB1 that could conceivably be played with two players simultaneously would be supertux.
However, it seems to have some limited elements of SMB 3 or 4 mixed in.
Is there actually ANY emulator NOT gaying up the music of this game? The music for the first level starts to play out nicely but then it some point it just goes SCRATCH SCRATCH BZZZ on top of the actual music and is quite annoying. It's part of the song and also goes away again but it also comes back. I've tried different emulators and haven't found a single one without this flaw.
Don't have an answer, but the genesis ultimate collection has the same problem. It's annoying
>>3817519
Is that the thing for Steam? So I am not the only person who is suffering from this sound glitch?
Real hardware wins again.
This is a great game. Sure, it's not SoM but I don't really get the bitching about this one. If you want more SoM go play Seiken Densetsu 3 but stop whining about this underrated gem.
Show this game some support!
I tried to play Secret of Mana but the way the camera is positioned is really annoying, you will only know that there's an enemy ahead when you already got hit by them.
Legend of Mana is good.
>>3817254
Personally I enjoy SoE even more than SoM, it has a better replay value today. SoM is still a classic but i find it hasn't aged to well, there isn't enough substance to get me to play through the whole game nowadays...
Not running to play Soe either, but if I had to choose right with a gun to my head now I'd go for SoE, the cheesy plot and the doggy make the game
>>3817278
>you will only know that there's an enemy ahead when you already got hit by them.
Sounds like someone needs to git gud
ITT: The level that made you quit.
This game is already bullshit enough and I'm not playing it on ice.
Play the japanese version, it's less retarded.
Fuck this shit. Those crouching bird creatures murdered me hundreds of times.
