>in-game FF7 Cloud and Tifa treated mostly like a couple, even having sex in the game
>Aeris was a friend with a crush on him
>games/movies after main game Cloud ignores Tifa and they try to retcon Cloud and Aeris being in love
Why the fuck did they do this?
I always found it weird in Kingdom Hearts Cloud was like; "Whatever Tifa...I'm looking for Aeris. She's my light."
>>3819480
I don't think the original dev team expected Aeris to be as popular as she was
later FF7 stuff is just catering to the fanbase
>>3819480
>even having sex in the game
???
>18 years
>you still can't emulate me properly
How does it feel? No matter how much you spend on your rig, I am undefeated.
implying I'd ever want to replay that horribly designed, bloated mess of a game
feels badman
>emulation being shit
this isn't a surprise.
When you come back to a game you have not played for a while and forgot most of the story.
Do you continue from where you left off, or restart the game ?
Just start over usually. Would be too hard to pick up the mechanics and story context. Unless I have like 70 hours already sunk into it.
>>3819087
Depends on the game. A lot of the time I can jog my memory just by pressing on. Grandia 2 is pretty straightforward and the characters pass out plot details more than they pass out pleasantries
Anyone else play this game? Maybe I'm weird, but I liked it
Is gaming on the original hardware a much more preferable than on an emulator?
>>3818679
Yes.
>>3818679
Depends really. I mean if you want to use an HDTV or don't have room for a CRT, may as well emulate.
>much
Depends how accurate the emulation is

Dadgamer: arcade Mario games
I don't understand, OP. I like nearly all Mario games; I can't categorize myself with just one.
>>3818468
Well pick your favorite then.
What if I like all of them, with a strong tie between SMB3 and World? A Patriplebian?

>>3818008
Really? I was playing it in a C64 romset I download a week ago
>>3818053
Pay no attention to OP image. It's just the first thing I found doing google search. It's the cancelled Nintendo 64 game Die Hard 64 developed by Bits Studios.
>>3818008
What the fuck. That's awesome.
Which is the better game, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, or Super Metroid?
SFII for VS, Super Metroid for single player and speedruns.
Next.
>>3817675
>not Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers
you made it easy
>>3817683
yeah, because new challengers sucks dick compared to SSF2T. he made it 2EZ.
Is this the best retro 4x game besides Master of Orion 2?
Are there any more worth playing besides these two and HoMM2?
>>3817242
Alpha Centauri is really good.
>>3817105
No. Pic fucking related.
Let's get this shit going.
The only rule to this: Legality is not an argument. Fuck the police, lol.
all of the NES nintendo re-releases from Wii on have had a shit dull fucking color palette.
thats all.
>>3817018
What the fuck is that supposed to tell us? Higan or Retroarch's NES cores don't screw with the color palette.
>>3817021
uh they All screw w the color palette. there were only 63 colors. Shoutouts to NESten's warm palette in them days. was the most accurate.
Why does this handheld have such a weak library? The original gameboy outshines it completely.
I always thought the gbc had a pretty solid library, though that might be because i'm including the black shell cartridges as well as exclusives
also, is there any ideal way to play gb/gba? You seem to either have to deal with fucking ghosting or lack of a backlight, so you can't see anything either way
>>3816573
because it came out in 1998
>>3816573
It had a lifespan of about 3 years.
The GB was around for 9 years before the GBC, and even after the GBC's release, many games were still made compatible with it.
Rabid fan. Ask me anything, from tactics, to plotholes, to generic questions. I'd like to think I paid enough attention to these games that I could answer any and all questions.
what are your opinions on the Compilation of FFVII?
>>3815879
Completely irrelevant trash that should've stayed in some fan girls fanfiction story.
Anything that happened beyond that games initial release I refuse to acknowledge as part of the franchise.
I dropped VIII around the 3rd disc a month ago, should I finish it? Plot got fucking boring and the gameplay is stagnant.
Ayyo those star wars games are pretty fun. Just one thing can you take out those awful on foot sections?
Say no more senpai
I grew up on the X-Wing & TIE-Fighter games, and compared to those I found Rogue Squadron to be quite disappointing.
>>3815374
i like both
>>3815374
Different styles of games. Only autists get upset about the popularity of one over the other. The X-Wing series focused on realism, it was more like a simulator, while Rogue Squadron is more arcade-styled (for instance, unless you hit an obstacle head-on, you'll glance off and take shield damage instead of blowing up).
This manga got me legit interested in fighting games.
What are some good retro fighters not named Street Fighter 2?
Actually SF2 could be a pretty damn good start because learning it will teach you the basis for pretty much any 2D fighter. Otherwise just try anything by Capcom or SNK.
Karnov's Revenge
Waku Waku 7
I want to get into Virtua Fighter series. My sole option is emulation on RetroArch. Where do I start? Tried VF2 with Saturn core, it was a slideshow. Same with MAME core, it works even worse.
Model 2 emulator
http://nebula.emulatronia.com/
VF2 is still pretty much perfect.
There was a PC port of VF2 released back in the 90s, not sure how good it is compared to Saturn (which goes at constant 60fps)
Buy a Saturn, cheap faggot.
3DS is now easy to hack and emulate older systems, so puts it on par as PSP. Which system is the better one for emulating 8-bit and 16-bit systems? Is the (N)3DS significantly more powerful?
>>3812565
N3DS has better GBA and SNES compatibility.
PSP has best PS1 compatibility.
Last I checked, 3DS can't emulate Sega CD (whereas PSP can).
PSP is a bit comfier to hold, but that may just be personal preference.
>>3812565
Xperia Play.
>Cheaper
>More portable
>Better screen
>Better emulation of all consoles, bar PS1 (PSP has it beat in that regard)
>>3812565
Side note, but when did PSP prices shoot up?
I was looking at getting one last year, and they were like $40, then I was looking again last month and all I can find are like $100.
