Only with sailors.
Which retro JRPG has your favorite plot? Not necessarily characters (though obviously a factor) and certainly not gameplay/music/etc., but just the game whose story piques your interest the most
>>3819701
>inb4 not retro
FFX has a story that really captures me.
I love the prophecy, the pilgrimage, and all the twists and turns that take place along the way.
The ancient Machina, Sin, the Fayth, and all the summoners that didn't make it on their journey.
Mix in the factions intermingling affairs, from the Bevelle monks working with the Al-Bhed in their machina operations.

desu I don't care about plots in JRPGs unless they shove it into my face. I guess it's between Chrono Trigger (not presumptuous, not on your face, it's not necessarily dumb, it's lighthearted) or the Mother series (humorous) (>in b4 mother 3) (it's still humorous compared to 99.9% of jrpgs)

Suikoden 2, Live A Live, DQV
?!?!?!
god damn it
>level 22
Hey man, you got a varista while it's a good weapon. Be happy about that.
>>3819309
I don't see the problem here. Varista is useful on Hard mode.
The only problem I see is that shit UI mod you're using. Get rid of it this minute.
What's the best unlicensed console game, and why is it Crystal Mines?
>>3818936
I fucking love it!
Did you know it got a sequel on the Lynx?
>>3818938
I did, though I haven't played it.
Still, the original though.
>Decent graphics
>Legitimately fun gameplay
>Funkalicious music
I think it easily deserves a slot in the top 50 of the NES library, but few such lists are willing to even recognize unofficial game.

Tengu Tetris.
A better Tetris port than Nintendo's. Heck, It Is miles better than the licensed one!
Hi anons I'm looking for some retro dos anime games that will run on dosbox or win95 vm.

>>3817079
if you want retro anime games you need one of three things for good selection:
PC-8800
PC-9800
MSX/2
PC Engine (received alot of ports from the above)
>>3817837
oops forgot to edit the number after almost forgetting MSX

Games based on anime or games with an anime aesthetic?
If you're looking for aesthetic, Princess maker 2 is pretty good.
Optional actions you took that made you feel sad or guilty.
For example, letting a character die on fire emblem.
Killing someone that could be saved, it doesn't matter if you already did know that before or after you killed him/her.
Making choices you would regret later on.
Being obligated kill someone you don't want to (Pic Related ;_;)
Not completing an objective, leading to bad situations.
Or something you did to feel guilty.
Da... dad? Are you ok?
Fallout 1. Basically agreed to save a bunch of people, but once they gave me what I needed I just left them all to die.
Saving them would've been kind of a pain in the ass so I didn't.
Where the fuck do I get the English patch to play this game? Pls halp
Did someone patch the Saturn version?
The Windows port of the Saturn version has an official English release.
https://www.mangagamer.com/detail.php?goods_type=0&product_code=33
The Windows release is basically identical to the Saturn version, except for (a) using MIDI output for music and (b) they eliminated having to switch discs every time you switch characters.
>>3816762
There are many patches available on the internet but installing the wetware often takes a lot of time and effort and some systems simply aren't capable of handling it.
>>3816798
I dont think the saturn could 100% replicate the original PC-98 soundtrack either.
Was this thing irredeemable? Are there any enthusiasts here?
Say you had a team who really loved it and knew all of its insides & outs - What exactly was it capable of?
Also...If it's so bad, why the fuck is it like $100?
>>3816605
>If it's so bad, why the fuck is it like $100?
SAYYGAAH
It had superb ports of NBA Jam T.E., Virtua Racing, MK II, and a few good originals. It only ended up with 30 games or whatever though.
Hardware-wise, it was more or less half of a Saturn, shortly before the release of the Saturn, and required another system to even use. Do the math.
Bro your shit runs a little smoother it's like seven bucks stop being an idiot it's not expensive just get one and run a laggy game on it and decide whether or not you wasted a sick fiver
Where did it go wrong? Interplay was putting out some GOAT games in the 90s, and even had enough money to pay for VOs from star trek cast for their games
>>3816552
they had fallout and still went bankrupt
They were based in LA - an expensive state for anybody
You do the math.
>>3818171
Interplay still exists. To answer OPs question: bad management.
invent the genre
invent the genre
perfect the genre
Am I the only one who thinks that pic related looks like he has down syndrome or some shit?

Doom has a resolution of 320x200 which means it looks thinner ingame on a 4:3 screen.
You know... It's almost uncanny.
Anyone have a retard's guide how to do this?
The game manual tells me nothing and I can't for the life of me get the steering to work properly. It just ends up being digital i.e full lock with only a nudge on the controller.
Pic only partly related. I'm on real hardware but my camera is fucked and this is the only screen grab I could find on Google.
Anyone?
It's driving me crackers.
>>3816050
Works fine for me.
>>3817052
Okay.
When I enter that screen with A button, the background greys out and I get a slider I can move left and right by twisting the controller. This is centering right?
After that I press Start to proceed and get the full adjustment screen in the OP. I can still move the steering slider but no buttons will make anything stick. I also cannot manually adjust the steering centre, max, or margin values using the dpad. Acceleration and Braking work fine but steering is fucked.
What do?
Is Heart of the Alien worth playing and is it considered canon or is it not worth it?
It's like pottery.

Is there some online resource for reading through old strategy guides? I used to read them for fun a lot as a kid. I remember the Nintendo Power guide for Conker's BFD being one of the funniest things I had ever read (funnier than the actual game anyway) and I want to see if it holds up.
Emuparadise used to have a considerable amount of strategy guides in the magazines section.
>>3815630
>This guide is not for anyone under 17
>Nintendo
So basically the target audience was that 1 year window
>replaying Resident Evil 2 for the first time since I was a kid
>the police station music starts
>mfw the part of the tune where the music stops and you hear a SLAM
Oh god I had nightmares as a kid.
That's much more creepy then scarier then anything I seen From 7 yet (I got find the arm and meet at trailer) that slam made me jump few times over the years. I want replay it but as soon as I complete I know capcom will drop a trailer and release for later this year.
Post your fave RE rooms

this kind of stuff is a lost art.
no one cares enough to do it nowadays
