The PlayStation mystique and aesthetic was certainly very cool from 1995-1997. I will agree with that.

All contenders. My vote would be for the Dreamcast, especially if you got it with Soul Calibur. The cool kids who had that year long head start on the PS2 enjoyed an era of gaming only those few understand. When the PS2 finally came out the "cool kids" who already had a Dreamcast were unimpressed with launch games like DOA 2 Hardcore or SF EX 3. They were more excited for Shenmue.

Unfortunately, players these days don't have the patience required for a game like Thief 2. That's why Thief 3/4 didn't do so well, and tried to make the whole thing faster. This is why the Dishonoured series has done well. The stealth portions were sped up, the action portions were thrown in as much as possible.

Thrasher Skate and Destroy was a way more fun game in my opinion. It's made by Rockstar, it has a better soundtrack, it has a realistic vibe to it, and you get chased by the cops after every level!

Pic related, its my layout Im trying to use. I wouldnt mind just swapping roll and fire, but the fact that Im using the control modifier means when I try to change weapon or fire settings, the game tries to fire or roll, respectively. I could remap those two, but I like the orientation and was hoping for a fix thats intuitive to the scheme, like a mod or just changing some config file

Get flight stick, honestly. You can play this with a 360 or xboxone controller relatively well. No joy2key necessary.

I use a logitech 3d pro. it's $40 american but is a good balance between cheap and effectiveness/utility.

How are you able to calibrate the joysticks without corners? Otherwise get a cheap CH Flightstick and a Gameport-USB adapteror a Joystick with corners and use the keyboard for commands.

Because every fight in the game has you start so far away from the enemy however, he's still not better than any character raised as a Ninja or an Archer with a crossbow who can just aim outside of the displayed ranged and kite everything to death.

In fact, if you don't already have a bunch of ninjas/archers with crossbows/shortbows, good fucking luck ever saving that asshole in the first place.

The most broken character in TO is actually Canopus who can basically solo the game by flying around and throwing rocks (this is almost actually not an exaggeration).

Don't Crossbows lack the ability to shoot outside of the target area? I thought that was the main advantage bows/shortbows had over crossbows, since crossbows are so much lighter.

And yeah if you give Canopus a bow he's a very OP character in the early game, I prefer to keep him with a spear for that reason. By the time he learns the ranged magic that hawkmen learn his stats seem to balance out a bit, and by the mid game he doesn't seem that much stronger than the generic characters.

Even just an engine or kit to make the modding process easier, SMW and Earthbound have them, so why not this gem?

Crono Compendium had a couple of really interesting projects but sadly they never went anywhere.

Think of it like an artisanal game for the SNES. People want games on their favorite game console of all time and will pay. Like how Starfox 2 is best played on the SNES, this person wants a specific Gameboy game on thier favorite console.

The dc-x disc I made loads up fine, but then I can't load any games from it.

If burned discs work fine why not just burn an ntsc copy of vf and be done with it?
