I think I read about it somewhere where a fucking hipster was bashing on "metroidvania" saying hurrr it should be zeldavania, what does not make any sense.

Metroidvania is always a 2D platformer with a specific item/exploration system, why the fuck would you add a top down 2D game like Zelda to the mix, it has some elements of it, but metroidvania is literary a subclass of 2d platformers, far from Zelda.

Heck, just call it a zelda clone, still better definition.

I think it was the first truly modern JRPG for that era. It was my first RPG as well. As far as vr ffs go i'd easily put it in the top 4.

People say I'm being contrarian but I think it's maybe the worst game in the series. 1-3 all had a lot of customization in how you approach it, 4 throws that almost totally out the window in favor of a more plot focused game, but the plot still isn't great.

Never got past the pirates level.
Also, sometimes the cowboy fatso in level 3 is invulnerable.

It looks professional enough, but the clutter and uniform grey makes it hard to see where you're supposed to be going. The light from the candles is unimpressive, almost Quake 3 tier.

Looks fine to me, seems like it controls 1:1 to the original. Probably a more faithful remake than Konami could ever do

This is pretty decent and has analog LR triggers.

Don't the PS3 controllers have analog shoulders? I know they work on the Wii+Nintendont at least, so I bet they work on Dolphin. If not then I bet you can just use any controller with 4 shoulder buttons and use the remaining shoulder button as a half-press, as in you hold L1 + R2 to shoot water while running. I beat Mario Sunshine that way with no problems.

You sure it's not just a configuration problem? Even the cheap ass $5 chink GC controllers I've tried do analog on the triggers.
At any rate, you do better to get an adapter. They're $10 and let you use original or 3rd party controllers and work with the Wii U. For what you paid you could have got one and a better chink controller.
Protip: Avoid things with "retro" in the name. They're often overpriced shit designed to milk hipsters.
