What are you keyboard control settings?
You are indeed one of God's own prototypes. Too old to WASD, too master race to gamepad.

I actually have an iBUFFALO Classic USB gamepad and a Logitech F310.
Can someone give me a reasonable price for these games? I want to buy them but every one in Winnipeg overcharges
>Kirby's Adventure
>Kid Icarus
>Donkey Kong Classics
>NES Zapper
Any help is appreciated
About three-fifty
>>3874351
>Can someone give me a reasonable price for these games?
USD$5 (or less) at a yard sale. eBay / craigslist reseller scum isn't going to give you a fair deal. You're better off hunting bargains at local yard sales or pawn shops.
>>3874362
Agree. Shipping to and from Canada is outrageous. There was a Canadian seller with a JooJoo tablet cheap I really wanted but we just couldn't get the shipping down low enough. Likewise, in the early 2000s I used to sell DSS H cards on eBay and most buyers would tell me just to keep the hardware and just mail the cards in an envelope - and delivery confirmation even for an envelope was still outrageous.
>original game is 1-player only and goes for $5
>sequel has multiplayer but is $200
>GAME
>GAME: SUPERIOR EDITION
>superior edition costs less than the original even though it's improved in every single aspect

When I found out how expensive Power Stone 2 is I was baffled
It's a great game, but jesus
>>3874196
>game comes out in limited release stateside
>jack the fuck up those prices
>jew store brings it back
>keeps the prices elevated
>gets sequel
>ships a cargo ship full of copies this time
>first game drops to where it should of been entire time
>that moment when u get hyped over rare game, then its own market crashes itself.
>mtw when u saved yourself from spending $100+
What the fuck? Why is this so hard? You nudge an enemy and all your life bar is gone... Whatever happened to being temporarily invincible upon being hit?

Welcome to the European Extreme mode.
>>3874094
I used to play this game all the time as a kid but i must have used a trainer or something because i don't remember dying so much
>>3874078
It gets easier once you know where all the secret weapon cashes and extra lives are.
Also the scrolling is a bitch. Since your Turrican sprite is off center relative to where you are going, reacting to things coming at you is simply impossible sometimes. Occasionally stopping and going slower will save your ass more times than dying once or twice to the damn clock.
Is it worth getting? What other games should I get? The only 2+ player games I own are Bomberman II and Super Spike V-Ball (which isn't fun honestly)

2 second google search shows us:
Games
These games are compatible with the NES Four Score, for more than two concurrent players.
Anticipation

Danny Sullivan's Indy Heat

Super Spike V'Ball
Swords and Serpents
Top Players' Tennis
__________________________
At a quick glance I'd suggest Bomberman II, Gauntlet II, R.C. Pro-AM II, Smash TV, Super Off Road, Super Spike V'Ball, Tennis. Maybe Swords and serpents
Played only a few, but with 4 players you will want competitive games. Smash TV and Bomberman are probably your best bet.
Doesn't the fourscore only cost like 2$ ? Not much of an investment
>>3873897
Four Scores are about $30 or $40 nowadays
Gauntlet II looks cheap and cool, I'll pick it up, thanks.
>>3873925
where do you live? I looked both on american and european ebay and they are under 15 dollars, in europe even for 6 Euros. If you auction one you could even get it half price
it may be dumb and antiquated to some but having to leave the console on cause you had to go to school or some shit but weren't about to lose your progress was the mark of a great game and a fond memory of mine.
Ones that stick out to me:
megaman 2, I was at wily's castle and had to go to church on christmas eve so I left that shit on til I got back
metroid prime 2, was mid chykka boss fight before school and that shit was hard so there was no way I was about to lose my progress. Left that shit on

>had to go to church on christmas eve
>had to

I was too young man, I wasn't strong enough
>Miyamoto: Back when Super Mario Bros. 3 came out, everyone was stressed because they couldn't save, with some even saying they played it through without ever turning off the power! (laughs)
Came across a banged up Jaguar and the guy only wanted 50 bucks for it. He said it didn't work. Took it home, got it booted up (waiting on an RGB cable for it) and it works fine. He just wasn't putting a cartridge in.
What are the top games for this thing? The top 10 lists are all fucked. I know Doom, Rayman, AVP, and Iron Soldier.
Also, why is the D-Pad such a piece of shit? It feels like brittle plastic and is really shallow.
>>3873764
>What are the top games for this thing?
Uh... Tempest 2000.
And that's about it.
>>3873764
>What are the top games for this thing? The top 10 lists are all fucked. I know Doom, Rayman, AVP, and Iron Soldier.
Welp, that's it, that's the top games. Oh and Tempest 2000. The Wolfenstein port is also pretty neat.
>>3873764
Atari Karts. But it's like 200 dollars.
And Wolfenstein 3D.
What would a be a reasonable subtitle for Super Mario 64 if wasn't the "64 bits" thing that nintendo was propagating at the time?
Like: Super Mario [insert]
Castle
I've been looking for some old PC games, but they are not on GoG/Steam and I'm not interested in physical purchases.
What's a good site to download old PC games without worrying about malware? The games I'm searching:
whitchaven 1-2
wheel of time
hexen's 2 expansion
heretic 2
exhumed (powerslave)
kiss: psycho circus: the nightmare child
no one lives forever 1-2
I have yet to encounter malware with downloads from My Abandonware and The Iso Zone though I haven't tried those partiular games. Just run any executable and dll files you download through virustotal to be safe.
As far as Exhumed/Powerslave is concerned, be careful what you download.
Beta versions and bad rips (without music) are very common on "abandonware" sites.
It's recommended that you get the retail version of Exhumed, because it's the most up to date (for instance in the retail version of Powerslave there is a small glitch musics).
Anyway for Exhumed the date of the exe should be March 19 1997 and for Powerslave September 24 1996. That's how you'll know you're not using a beta version (which is particularly fucked, but which has plagued pirate versions of this game ever since release).
As for bad rips, well, you should an iso of the CD, and you should have music playing.
>>3873206
>NOLF
http://nolfrevivalDOTtk/
That is NOLF 1 and 2 with a fanmade patch to get it working on modern systems. Also includes all official patches. It was made after Nightdive failed to get the rights to do a HD re-release so some fans took it upon themselves to do it.
>Exhumed
Powerslave EX is a thing. I unfortunately don't have a link, but I was lucky enough to have some kind anon on /v/ give me a media fire download link.
It's also rumored that Powerslave/Exhumed might be getting an official HD remaster soon.
>Hexen 2
Portal of Pravus was actually surprisingly difficult to find but with a bit of googling and searching random torrent sites and allowing for low seed amounts and a few days to download. You can get it.

i love digimon kaiser
>>3875267
Digimon always had such a good plot.
Why is the music in this game so good?
>>3872710
because everything in that game is good
the sequel even has better music
it's also because of the law of ancient ruins in videogames which states:
>If a videogame has an ancient ruins level, then that level will have good music, there are no exceptions to this.
>Corollary: if a game is made up of nothing but ancient ruins, then the entire game will have good music.
>>3872716
That's interesting. I prefer everything in Zwei but the music.
>>3872710
>Sega
because that
Why is it hard for so many great developers to revive their careers?
Over the past few years we've seen a return of some amazing talent whose games we grew up with thanks to crowdsourcing.
Sadly, the promise of their return has been more satisfying than the actual game they've returned with.
Why is it so hard for these devs to come back when so many great indie games are being made on shoe string budgets?
Look at the wasted talent:
Tim Schafer - a rock star in adventure games who has pissed away all his good will.
Al Lowe - wasted his time remaking a game rather than producing anything new.
Frederick Raynal - the Twinsen's Odyssey/Alone in the Dark guy. Getting mediocre reviews on Metacritic for a game that has been completely overshadowed by its DRM.
Peter Molyneux - lol
Keiji Inafune - Has no idea what he was doing.
Doug TenNapel - his claymation art style was wasted on a truly dull game.
What the fuck is going on? I don't want these people to fail. Why can't the veterans get it together?
Has an old school designer actually delivered?
>>3872687
Because that was 20 years ago when they actually had to work. They're lazy old farts now that just want to make money off fans and hire a bunch of chinese interns to pump out their shitty kickstarter iphone game.
>>3872687

because in the first place they were just the name in the magazine, they never did the real work
does /vr/ like the deception games?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVoQTpD_1sg
Deception is weird as shit but I liked it then Kagero seemed like maybe it was more accessible but I didn't get into it. They both make sweet monsters in Monster Rancher.
it's a pretty novel idea.
i like how grim all the games are.
>>3872593
I'm a rather big fan of the second title Kagero: Deception 2.
1 and 3 are great, but nothing gets me going like 2. Probably because it was the first one I played, but the whole experience for me is 9/10
I'll say the first one is the least enjoyable for me. The first person aspect seemed off. Glad they switched to third
Does anyone know what this is?
It's a dirty old Super Scope receiver with a sticker on it.
>>3872375
nice Saint Seiya sticker anon.
>>3872375
A self-sealing stembolt
generally regarded as the best final fantasy ever?
getting a retropie next week and looking forward to playing it.
By 5th Gen plebs that have only played PS1 and don't like FF7 because it's too mainstream for them? Yes
Generally? No, it's rather underrated in the grand scheme of FF fandom. But true connoisseurs of the series who know better will always have it in the top 3.
>>3872223
it's the default choice of hipsters who don't want to be seen as normies for liking FFVII and can't bother to play the older ones because they're massive faggots who can't handle 2D gaming
everything about this game (except audiovisuals) is so mediocre... I've always felt like I was playing a different game when discussing it with people who loved it
Now that I think of it, people who love FFIX also love Legend of Dragoon. That explains it everything
