Blockbuster didn't exist in my country until much later, and they only carried N64 games (and sometimes SNES, but it was already past the SNES' time).
I remember renting on Blockbuster, but I have better memories of being even younger and going to local mom and pap video clubs and renting bootleg Famiclone stuff.

I use them only if I have to go do some shit and step away from the game. Like if I'm on a far level of Adventure Island but I have to go to the store then I'll save state where I was.

Another time I'll use them is if the game has a custom editor like Excite Bike, but no save feature.

Use it only at games that allow infinite continues, and save/load at the continue screens only. Also in save/load screens of RPGs.

At least those are my rules. Works for me.

Negcon is the gold standard for racers, it's the pad of choice for all the wipeout/ridge/rage racer wr times as the analogue twist allows you to really hold lines and in wipeouts case are able to steer independantly of nose pitch control with the dpad and air brakes with the shoulders.

This one is the only Looney Tunes game I remember playing, maybe I played other ones but I just don't recall which ones.

Anyway as the name implies it was made for co-op. I liked watching my brother and his friend play through it (watching your older brother play videogames was like an early 'let's play') but for some reason they never beat it. I remember the gameplay being good and it had a bunch of fun minigames.

It's not cheating. Random HP gain on level up is just bullshit. Pretty much every player saves and reloades when leveling up until they get a good roll. How is that different to a mod?

It does a good job at being massive because of the lack of artificial walls. Other than visiting new towns/dungeons there isn't much to do but that was more than enough back in the day.

Makes you think how we evolve in circles. Given the limitations of the 80s, you could perfectly call this game an Open World.

You could get surprisingly far at level 7 (with sleep spell). You can take on the green dragon and the axe knight with some lucky sleeps and nab Erdrick's Armor super early.

The only reason you have to wait to level 17 to finish the game is the healmore spell. It is easier to wait to level 18 as it relies on less blind luck to win.

If it got a level editor, then it could have been. As is, it's a little shortcoming.

I'm honestly impressed by the improvements to the PS4 version. Not just the extras, but also the animations and sprite coloring.
