So i have this machine, and i want to find some kind of controller (no bluetooth if possible). What do you recommend anon? I'm happy with cheap stuff.
>>3901409
I'll hijack OPs thread and ask a similar question.
Just started using retroarch on my phone and it's comfy as fuck. Are there any android compatible bluetooth gamepads worth picking up?
Preferably one that comes with a mount for the phone.
>>3901417
The best bluetooth controller is pic related.
>>3901409
Can't speak for iOS, but I use a Cirka brand Super Famicon usb controller on a Galaxy tablet and I have no troubles with any retroarch cores.
Is 1997's Blade Runner game good?
its good, try the gog version
>>3901253
It's very good and a perfect companion to the movie. The little details and nods to the plot of the movie that takes place during the span of the game are great. Definitely a labor of love.
>>3901253
One of the best p and c adventure games ever made m8. I love it.
McCoy is kind of lame though... But the game is aware of that too. Its deliberate.
I want to get seriously spooked. What are some non-RE spooky games?
>>3901041
Sweet Home, but its kinda RE.
Ghosts N Goblins/Ghouls N Ghosts
Castlevania
Shadowgate (recommended)
do you want to get SPOOKT or do you just want a game with monsters or something?
dino crisis and silent hill are pretty spooky
like this hack.
>>3900914
link?
I wanna be roll
Zynk, stop shilling your own stuff.
Not that I'm not guilty of the same but at least I use the romhacking thread.
Also wait to see my own hacks. I'm working on brining Protoman, the way he looks and plays in MM9/10 to MM5. Once I'm done doing the same for MM4 shouldn't be too hard and then I'll try for MM6.
We have a ROM hacking general nigga
Woah, this is way more high quality than on the Playstation. What gives?
this from ePSXe?
>>3900737
The PC versions have higher res backgrounds.
Also the PC re-release by Sourcenext has uncompressed FMV.
PC versions also offer both western an Jap difficulty and have 2 extra costumes, and make for easy 'cheating' (like starting with any weapon you like etc)
See for instance the Dino Crisis poster here in the background. It was hardly possible to make out what it was in the PS1 version.
What are some fun side/scrolling/shooting/etc. games?
To give an example I'm looking for something like:
UN squadron
Vectorman
Megaman X
>>3900548
Sturmwind on Dreamcast.
>>3901770
looks cool
>>3900548
Megaman X2.
Aesthetically speaking, what's your favourite handheld?
I personally have to go with the nice sleek slate that is the Gameboy Pocket.
This, hands down (pun intended).
Runners up:
Game Boy MicroGBA SP
DS Lite
PSP Go
Honestly, while I love them dearly, as evidenced here, I don't think there's much to be said for the wholeretrogame boy family. That said, there's no doubt that of the four, the pocket is the best of the lot.
That said, there weren't very many aesthetically pleasing older handhelds; the game gear, nomad, & ngpc all look like shitty walkmen/radios (esp. the nomad). The lynx was an abomination.
Some of the original nintendo Game & Watches are very nice; I'm partial to the multi-screen series (e.g. pinball, safebuster). Don't know if you were just referring to consoles, though...
The microvision is cool, especially w/ pinball inserted.
PC engine LT (LapTop) is a really fantastic looking hybrid handheld/console. But perhaps not technically a handheld because it required an external power source? Definitely designed to be held... :/ I think it's pretty, but not nearly as much as other pc engine designs.
PC engine GT looks like a bee stung it.
Sega megajet pretty, but almost definitely not within the standard definition of handheld.
The supervision is a joke.
The game*com is the unfortunate final entry in what passes for "retro" handhelds.
So in all, not a lot of great options. GB pocket is definitely among the best.
>>3900551
Wouldn't you like own them if you loved them dearly? Or you like some kids sad "collection" dearly?
What retro strategy games do you guys like? RTS, turn-based, grand strategy, PC, console, whatever.
I'm thinking about filling my library with more of these since they have so much replay value. I'd be curious which ones you guys like most.

Heroes of Might and Magic
How are the Koei games on the NES? Bandit Kings of China, Genghis Khan, Nobunaga's Ambition, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which is best?
>>3900516
Okay, I suppose, but playing them on the NES feels much clunkier than their ports/sequels on DOS.
Discuss your personal grudges and little issues with classic FPS.
I'll start: why the fuck did these guys never drop their rifles in Doom? I'd gladly go for an M16-type weapon over the shitty starting pistol.
>bump
Maybe they got their blood on em and Doomguy was like "euughh..."
>>3900149
Doom bro had no time to be dragging along their shitty rifle when the ammo fits his pistol just fine
This game so bad.
It's one of the most expensive find tho
>>3900018
Redpill me on this shit
Why should I play it?
Thanks god Game Grumps sucked at it so the price didn't shoot up right as I was shopping for my copy.
ITT: worst Castlemania ever...
>>3899941
>not a pic of bloodlines
>Not SotN
CastleMania or WestleVania?
Are there some good puzzle games with old Resident Evil style puzzles? I love that shit, but most puzzle games are Puzzle & Dragons mobile dogshit.
Fuck I'd even take Boxes World over that.
>want RE puzzles
>post example of one of the worst
this shit was almost as bad as that fucking weird pipe connecting shit from dino crisis
>talking shit on PAD when it's objectively the best puzzle game ever made
No accounting for shit taste OP, play Myst.
>>3899789
I actually also like this puzzle and I really like block pushing puzzles and whatnot too.
Have you played Myst? What about Tecmo's Deception?
Name a harder game
I still cant believe I beat this game as a kid. Honestly, if you die and lose your power ups in that level where you're in some bar/mansion it's literally game over at the boss.
Super Star Wars has more difficult platforming, less powerups and items, no unique abilities and fuck the lava beast Jawakeno.
>calling an industry standard db9 plug a sega genesis connector
can you use db9 controllers on a genesis/atari/sms if you swap the pins around (on the controller )?
>>3899534
Megadrive/SMS uses multiplexing, the Atari standard is just plain electric where you ground a certain pin.
>>3899534
I had to add a capacitor to the swapped pins to use a genesis controller on my commodore 64
vidya cities/buildings
preferably night when you can see all those cute little lights on in the rooms
