What PSP model is the best for handheld emulation? I know Playstation games are already natively supported, but what about systems like the Sega CD, or even MAME if that's possible? Also, do you have to use an adapter to get more space on it, or is there a large enough memory card?

Anyone actually still care about this game?

I know a while back people were talking about it and 8Bit Music Power. And a cool anon mentioned heading over to Japan to rip the game a while back.

I actually have the 2013 book too, as well as the rom. So I was wondering if anyone else wanted it.

Any of you guys run arcade hardware? I just picked up this 545 in 1 emulated multi-board and it's actually pretty great. I also have a pac-man, and naomi 1 netboot setup currently running MVC2.

If you're going to emulate, just get a Raspberry Pi. Jesus.

When I first got my ps1, I didn't get any games with it because I couldn't afford them, so I played the demo disc it came with and any others I got with magazines for a couple of years. I ended up liking most of the games on them and would end up grabbing a lot of the full games in the future. Sometimes the demo levels were way more fun than the full games though. Two that come to mind are Crime Killer and G-Police. What are your favourites or examples where the demos were better?

Why did Nintendo decide to ignore that CRT TVs were 4:3 for their Snes games, /vr/?

Some studios took this into account, but Nintendo itself which designed the console and knew how it worked, made this mistake in many 1st party games.
13 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
The mistake is using non-square pixels. If Nintendo had wanted a 4:3 output they would have designed the console to output such resolutions.

Don't really see a problem with it unless I zone off and modern playing practices of overcontrolling the view start creeping in. And never saw a problem with it back then as it was a new thing and there was no real frame of reference for me as a mostly console gamer

Actually, I remember being impressed by how sophisticated the automated motions and placement of the camera were, without the disappearing walls and flat orbits of Tomb Raider's and the like. It really felt as Lakitu was actually following you around and had to avoid obstacles and whatnot.

I don't actually, never played any, but I saw his series on it. I mean, I think every franchise with direct sequels hits a certain point if it lasts too long, where the quality begins to decline, but Ultima seemed to get some kind of super triple dose.

I mean, I can't remember but it seems like they may have been trying to be inclusive to new players but, after a certain point, if you start that far down the line in the series, you should just be expected to know you won't know shit.

Either way, I feel sorry for Ultima fans, rough way to kill the gaem.

I had planned on using an old Sony KV1515 for my MAME cabinet, but there is severe ghosting and I can't get it to focus. I have a couple of 19" LCD monitors, an old Pelican Real Arcade stick, and some old computer speakers. I've ordered a Control Block to go with my Raspberry Pi. I have 11 buttons and 1 bat stick from the Pelican. I'll need to buy another bat stick and some more buttons if I go the 2 player route. If anyone knows the golden angles for monitor and controls, this would be helpful in building the cabinet.

tldr: Help me decide
1) Arcade or Barcade
2) Horizontal or Vertical
3) 1 player or 2 player

Quick question about FFT's PSP port. Does it give true wide screen, does it stretch or does it crop? It looks kinda cramped. I think it's 4:3, but the top and bottom are cropped to make it widescreen.

This romhack promises to unstretch the graphics, which confuses me.

It's stretched. Look bad on hardware, looks worse stretched to 1080p on an emulator. Use the patch.
>>
>>3948980

Can I get before/after images? Because I look at screenshots and like, it doesn't look stretched at all.
