I want to play Beneath A Steel Sky, the classic 1994 cyberpunk point 'n' click game, but the Linux version is all fucked up.
Should I just watch a playthrough on youtube now, or should I wait for approx. 5 months until I have access to a Windows PC?
I mainly want to play it for the story.

Any significant difference between sega saturn model 1 and model 2? I'm kind of curious why the model 1 is generally more expensive, is it just a rarer model? Or is it actual function, or easier to pirate on, something real?
>>4007632
Rarer and something to do with modchips.
>>4007632
allegedly higher build quality. there are some nice little touches like a labels for buttons. after the model 1 they had to cut costs to drop the price.
>>4007632
Model 1 is also bigger, some people say it outputs better video quality than Model 2.
I prefer overall M2, its more compact, has a better laser unit and overall you can see it's easier to mod and mess around with.

You have one now. What do you wanna play?
One time a friend brought over this Genesis game to my house. It was about robots or cyborgs or some shit. I think it was a sidescroller but I'm not sure. One really neat thing about the game was that you could pull off other robot's parts. Like take off another robot's arm (and maybe attach it to yourself and start using it - this part I'm not so sure of). It had neat sound effects, too. When you'd pull an arm off there'd be this weird sound, kinda like a video game plunger.
It was a really cool game to my ten year old brain, have no idea what it was. The art style was kinda dark (not as in dark edgy, I mean literally dark, lots of blacks and blues). For the love of god somebody tell me what this game was.
You can post your own queries too.
Cyborg Justice
It's okay, but not great. A weird mix of brawler and fighting game. Tough, slow, and repetitive but pretty.
i'm looking for a very japanese action-platformer-puzzle-shooter. you played as this little pink and putple witch, who was split evenly doen the middle with a different color on each side. because of this, and because it was 2d, you would be a different color depending on which way you were facing. you shot bullets that were the same color as whatever side of the character was facing the screen. this lead to puzzles where enemies were only susceptible to one color of bullet, so you had to position yourself correctly. there were FMV anime cutscenes and I'm pretty sure it was on the PS1
>>4006359
yeah I found it right after making this thead kek. should have googled first but at least there's conversation eh?
didn't recognise it so much first but when the robot did that animation where he pulls off the other robot's arm it had to be it because that's exactly what I remembered. I literally only played this game once in my life than somehow never saw it again
Oh cool! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Alright! Kick ass! I get to play as any of the four turtles!
Oh, so Donatello is the only one who isn't absolute shit. Okay.
What a stupid opinion. Don has range, but his attack is kinda slow. Leo or Mike or go home.
whats the best version of this game
>>4006314
Don has range and damages, he is absolutely god tiers.
>New EQ prog server
>Comes out next Wednesday
>New expansion unlocked every 12 weeks
>Caps at Planes of Power
Any other old school EQ players around? This was my first MMO, I've checked out the other prog servers but always came in a little bit too late to start fresh
>>4006176
I've always wanted a high end Ench but god damn they seem to be so popular now
Also thinking about druid or shaman for that sweet sweet sow and port. Also, never played them
>>4006176
I still play EQ from time to time, I have not done progression servers though, desu I have never hit level cap in the game. I'll play for a few days, then put it down for a few months.
My first graphical MMO was called The Realm, I then moved on to a MMO called Xenimus which was fun for it's time, but when EQ came out, oh what a magnificent game it was.
I think the highest level I made it to was level 30, as I was not a devoted player, and once WoW came out I switched over. It is funny, I actually enjoy playing EQ now more than wow.
Have fun dude.
>>4006297
30 back in the day was pretty hard to get to
Thanks friend
According to the jap who posted it on twitter, most were 1-chip.
which dismissive meme is going to come first
The PCBs have clearly been recycled.Analogue 1chips when?
What happened?
I'll be honest, I like repros and the idea of it, but who would buy this instead of the original? This is a waste of a romhack. FF6 Advance's OST sounds way better than the SNES version's.
>who would buy this instead of the original?
The same kind of people who would pay $200 for Earthbound. Hipsters and bandwagoners who never bothered to gain any knowledge on retro games besides 'I like pixels lol such a geek'.
>>4004916
>FF6 Advance's OST sounds way better than the SNES version's.
Are you trolling? Did you play the GBA version first or something? The ultra shitty sound is one of the main flaws in that port. Are you seriously saying you think it actually sounds better??

Just listen to this versus the SNES version - SNES version sounds worse.
I had the AVS, but got rid of it because I'm juts not in the market for HDMI NES right now. I have an HDMI Modded N64, and HDMI modded Gamecube.
I am in the market for HDMI SNES and HDMI Genesis.
Why can't I find one?
The N64 requires modification even to get RGB and the Gamecube requires a fairly expensive external digital encoder. The Genesis and SNES just output RGB natively from their multi-out ports so you can just plug them into a quality upscaler and get HDMI without any modification. Now is the time to buy an XRGB before they go out of production or make the decision to wait and see if a 4K version comes out that's as good or better
>>4004279
I am not doing converters anymore. They're a bunch of bullshit. I want straight HDMI.
>>4004286
With the exception of the HDMI NES all of the HDMI modded consoles are going to be comverting analog RGB to digital HDMI. If you want to have a lot of consoles hooked up via HDMI it will be more economical to buy a single high quality upscaler. I assure you, Framemeisters are not bullshit.
What are your feelings on this particular X game?
>>4003974
Best one
OP here
>challenging
>gold armor is fun and the head chip eliminates farming to refill sub tanks
>music is decent but instrumentation could be better. Blizzard Buffalo hurts to listen to.
>weak enemy variety, seems like devs ran out of time
>needing a specific ride armor to use the others is just shitty programming
>>4003974
Terrible. Horrible bosses, horrible upgrades outside of the Z Saber, bland level design, Zero isn't even around enough for his playability to matter, the soundtrack uses horrible instruments even though the compositions are great. It's a huge step down from X1 and X2 in every way.
Found some old stuff closeted away for a decade or two. Is any of it worth anything these days?
>GBC Blue
>GBC Yellow
>Pokemon Red
>Pokemon Silver
>Pokemon Crystal
>WarioLand II
>Link's Awakening DX
>Toy Story Racer
>Mario Bros Deluxe
>Bionicle
>peripheral Light Max 2
Tried playing a bit and the Gameboys and games all work perfectly.
>>4003426
Retro shops commonly sale GBC games for like $10-20 bucks.
Really the only thing(s) of value would be those Pokemon games, probably get $20 for each depending on who you sell to.
>>4003446
Dang. Hardly even worth the effort for me then, I guess I'll give it away as a gift some day. Thanks.
>>4003426
All that stuff goes way up with box and manual, though; that Pokemon Red with box and manual goes for about $50-60.
ITT: Games you want to love but have aged like milk.
Pic related. I always wanted to play it as a kid and finally have a chance to so many years later. While I love the setting, characters, and music, the battles are excrutiating. I've played plenty of RPGs from the SNES and PS eras, and while games like FFIX and Chrono Cross were slow, I was able to adjust to them. For whatever reason I just can't get used to battles in SoA. Magic animations in normal battles take far too long, even though you can skip the super move animations. And the ship battles are like pulling teeth, I can't fucking stand them. You input your command and watch the ships fly around for at least a full minute for each command. It's horrible. Ship battles take 20-30 minutes when they could easily take half that, if not less, if you didn't have to watch the fucking ships do absolutely nothing for minutes on end.
Anyone else feel this way about this game? Or other games?
Played this for the first time about 4 years ago when I was 24 and thought it was awesome actually. Played the GC version though
Games don't age, kiddo
