Meanwhile FF gets 6 gorzillion of sequels.
>>4229545
it got 2 sequels u ungrateful shit
>uhhh they aren't real sequels
are FF's real sequels?
>>4229545
When the DS version was released and sold (very) poorly, Squeenix's suits figured "oh. maybe this isn't a popular IP after all". The retards have neglected it ever since.
>>4229545
Does it really need sequels? The Matrix got sequels and we know how that turned out...it's probably better that it only had the one game, because it was the best game.
Curious... So whats everyone fav MOTORCYCLE ARCADE games?
>>4229528
Super Hang On, though it's the only one I've really played
>>4229528
What game is that?
Road Rash; Jail Break
What gives you ASMR feels?
>the sound of N64 controller buttons
>>4229516
Nothing. ASMR is for faggots.
>>4229525
This. Its a really gay thing to do to be quite honest. How mentally ill do you have to be to enjoy it?
>>4229516
>kachang kachang
Anyone remember the ClayFighter series?
My nostalgia goggles may be firmly affixed to my face but goddamn Bad Frosty was one scary motherfucker.
They really pulled a bait and switch for the Nintendo 64 version while not even releasing the psx version.
>>4229249
Crappy 3d backgrounds instead of superior prerendered gamesgrounds and less characters than promised until the blockbuster version came out
The original Clayfighter's combos were so broken that almost every character had at least one combo that could take the entire lifebar out:

What game started rocket jumping?
Quake or powerslave?
Team Fortress
Zelda II
Rise of the Triad.
So...did they just forget about that portal that could have taken them to Mysidia instantly?
The Mysidians locked the door. This is explained by like the first NPC in Baron town and mentioned when you go through it from Mysidia
>>4229117
Didn't they lock the door after that fiasco? They still could have used it, took the loot, and left.
>>4229124
You can't fit a fleet of intimidating airships through a jar. The only reason Mysidia surrendered the Crystal was that the Red Baron fleet would have bombed the place to smithereens.
Best game ever
Not even best 2d Zelda, Awakening and The oracles are way better
>>4228912
One of the best, but DOOM is better. 2.5D games are top-tier.
>this is the only game that i have ever played
Who's /vr/'s favorite Castlevania protagonist?
[apply holy water to enemy hitbox]
I love this meme.
>he goes into exile
Iga storyline shittery mean fuck and all
Assuming it's not dead, what would you like to see in the RE2 remake?
I think Code Veronica style would work well, with modern-quality 3D.
I wouldn't want to see an RE2 remake, for one
>>4228739
And if it had to be made, a combination of Hideki Kamiya and Shinji Mikami overseeing it
>>4228739
No faith that they won't fuck it up?
What games considered good would turn into shit if you removed the music?
>>4228639
Castlevania games.
The Ultimate Doom. (Don't get me wrong Doom is a great game)
Every Sonic game that's considered good.
Local game store is selling a complete Kirby 64 for $70. Should I get it?
It's a fucking steal, no.
>"But it's retro, it's a collectable!"
Nah.
>>4228624
Ebay is selling them for about $150
>>4228624
This post makes little to no sense, anon
Do you like to keep old save files whenever you buy a new mem card, or a game that saves it's own progress.
Personally for me, I try to keep them unless I really need the space.
I like looking back at the old files and wondering what type of person might have played/sold their game/card.
Once I sold my Pokémon Blue version. It had all 151 Pokémons. Also all the storage boxes were full and there was around 100 different Pokémons at lvl 100.
This was one of the first ways I realized how pleb most gamers are
>>4228343
I would buy used wrestling games. The custom characters would be all sorts of things I'm assuming pertained to the other kid's life, e.g. hot female wrestler probably named after girl he liked.
Games that ride the line between cute and rad successfully. Note: the game itself doesn't have to be good. We're just talking about style.
>>4228291
Fortunately BOB is also great to play.
>>4228291
Mo'fuckin' Rocket Knight Adventures, what could be more cute/rad than an opossum knight with a rocket pack and sword? And the game is awesome as hell.
I loved this game to death as a kid, but when I got this it literally doubled the fun factor.
>>4228143
They really should have made a mode where you start with it. Even with the jewel sword or my preferred method which is using Axe Armor for it's fast walking speed and farming the big money bag in inverted catacombs (or wherever) it takes freaking forever.
It's so worth it though. Tons of fun with a Meal Ticket to watch an endless stream of crazy food fly out of you.
Also killing everything by summoning masses of bats and skeletons.
>>4228157
Agreed. Should have been unlockable as a mode after earning it, but you should have still had to go through the effort of buying it at least once.
This plus two Heaven Swords or two Rune Swords was some of the most fun I ever had in the game.
>>4228168
I agree. Once is good, but after that it should be available for all your playthroughs.
I love the heaven/rune/chakram weapons too. That game has so many neat little things in it.
What are the best plug n play consoles? Which are best avoided?
I'm curious in particular about the flashback series, since there are 7 or so atari ones and they blend together. Also the coleco and intellivision flashbacks, are they any good?
Some of the Flashback, Intellivision and Atari joystick units are just console-on-a-chip. The ROMs are being forced to run on fake NES hardware, basically. I believe the Intellivision plug-and-play actually involved rewriting the games as hacked up NES ROMs.
The AtGames units are horrendous when it comes to Genesis / MD compatibility. The units will almost always have off-pitch or heavily distorted music. The only Sonic plug-and-play unit that does seem to reproduce the games accurately is the one that includes Sonic 2, Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Sonic Spinball. This is the one: http://info.sonicretro.org/Super_Sonic_Gold
AtGame SMS / GG units are generally fine. There may be minor PSG sound distortion, but nothing too noticeable. Examples of these include the PlayPal / FunPlay 20-in-1: http://info.sonicretro.org/FunPlay_20-in-1
I can vouch for the FunPlay, as I owned one for a while. They just don't look too good on modern television sets due to poor (or only partial) scaling.
Regarding the Flashbacks again - I recommend reading up on the Wikipedia article, as it gives a blow-by-blow description of each model's strengths and weaknesses: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_Flashback
>>4228119
The Flashback 2 is the only one worth getting. It's literally a mini-2600 board designed from scratch. It even has markings on the board to add a cart slot if you're so inclined. Pretty much all the others are trash, though I have a soft spot for Famiclones.
The Ms Pac-Man one at the top is worth having.
