What is the best Wario Land game of all time?
Also, Wario General.
>VBWL in the center and bigger than the rest
you basically said it OP
I only like 2.Wario World and Wario Ware are better games than all of them
>>4015284
I've only played Wario World and even I can tell you that's some shit taste.
The Japanese version of Biohazard labels Chris and Jill's profiles with "easy" and "hard".
Jill is literally "easy mode".
>>4010935
Reminds me of those Gameboy Sailor Moon games where the game asks you if you're a boy or a girl and answering girl makes the game easier.
>>4010935
So Chris is hard and Jill is easy. What else is new?
What have you been playing recently? Recommend hidden gems. Discuss the genre that is coming back.
The genre is coming back in a bad way, all the modern point and clicks have terrible or non-existant puzzles.

I'm guybrush threepwood, mighty pirate!!
Anyone played Lost in Time back in the day?
I remember playing but never got to finish it. I recently found out that the ending wasit was all a dream, fade to black twist
I would like to revisit it if possible
It is time for some retro development love.
Post historical pictures or videos of retro game development. Share histories of times past
Let's also discuss hardware, tools and techniques used back then.
So let the games begin

>Sour grapes anti-PVM trolls BTFO
Every CRT thread there's some jerk saying that Nintendo developers worked with LCD screens and that BVM/PVMs aren't the way the games were originally intended to be viewed.
>>3954365
It seems that Fujitsu computers were the norm for Famicom development. The FW R-50 is everywhere in that video
Let's have a Spyro trilogy thread

3 is better than 2
I have started playing some PS2 games and to my surprise I have found out people have translated Jap only games and even went as far as to remove the English dub and add back the Japanese track in a lot of classic jrpgs. So it got me wondering
>What is your take on undubs?
>>4029310
Not retro.
>undubs
What the fuck is an "undubs"?
it sounds incredibly edgy, people that bitch about dubs while also not understanding japanese are huge faggots
It only appears to sound better because you can't understand how horrible the writing is.
>tfw you realize nothing like this game will ever be made again.
feels bad man
What game is that?
>>4028841
Suikoden 2
Didn't they make a bunch of Suikoden sequels on PS2 and they all sucked? Be careful what you wishe for.
ITT we list are top NES games
>BUUUUUTTT
You cannot list games that have a remake which is better than the original
For example Final Fantasy cannot be listed since Final Fantasy for the PS1 is better in almost every aspect
Super Mario Bros 3.
metroid. zero mission is shit
>>4028782
>it only took 3 posts for this thread to have a completely untrue post
It's not even an opinion anon. Zero Mission blows the original to smithereens. When a remake takes the original and keeps the same feel but fixing all the problems...that's a superior game. Just no getting around it.
Do they exist?
I recall Dreamcast had some online RPG games but they're probably dead now.
You mean Phantasy Star Online? It's not really an MMO more of a 4-man dungeon crawler with mass lobbies. There have been text based and even modestly graphical RPGs online supporting lots of players since the 70s believe it or not. In the 70s they mostly maybe exclusively existed on college mainframe computers called PLATO. In the 80s, they became more widespread and were known as MUDs, Multi-User Dungeons and similar acronyms There were some true MMOs that are /vr/ related. The first 2.5d one that was on-form for what we would eventually call MMOs was Meridian: 59 I actually beta tested that one. Ultima Online was 2D but generally considered an MMO despite being 2D, along with a game called Tibia. The most fully realized MMO that meets /vr/ standards though is Everquest. Check out Project 1999 if you want to experience it in its authentic 20th century glory.
Tibia went online in January 1997.
/vr/ used to have Tibia threads. I think they created a guild in Secura. Not sure if they're still active.
Well we had MUDs and MUSHes
Should I play Final Fantasy VII now if I never played it before or just wait for the remake?
>>4027963
The remake will be qte trash combat much like kingdom hearts.
The original is still the original.
translation is shit.
>>4027963
Remake is going to suck, play the original. Playstation, PC, or PSP.
Kazooie or Tooie?
>>4026159
I rather play banjo in diddy kong racing.
Kazooie on 64
Tooie on Rare Replay since it fixed the framerate issues
>>4026159
Tooie all the way, man
is this worth spending my summer on?
Generic animu JRPG, what do you think?
No not really
People praise its battle system but character positioning NEVER matters and despite being real time you can still pause right before each character command so it doesn't even have the time limit pressure of an ATB system. Also if you kill every enemy in each screen - WHICH IS NOT GRINDING - you'll be so overleveled the rest of the game will be a walk in the park. I don't see the appeal, personally.
Thoughts?
>>4025356
How did the game end up getting so expensive?
Was it released too late in the SNES lifespan for anyone to care about it, at the time?
meanwhile the playstation version sells for peanuts
>>4025367
It was released in 95, which was before the N64
I liked it better when it was called LUNAR.
>>4025010
is it any good?
>>4025014
As far as classic JRPGs go, yeah, sure. The real main attraction is the beautiful art and music, though.
holy shit! i'm playing this and the music is amazing! the game isn't bad too, but the fucking music, i'm shocked.

I love Super Mario Land. It's one of those games I revisit at least once a year.

This song is so happy. It always brings a smile to my face.
>>4024686
i'm loving it. a lot of enemies are new too.
