The sprites.

No matter how detailed and fluid 3d models become they will never look like they've had the painstaking hours of detail poured into it that sprites do. I understand that technically there could be more work done to the 3d models, but they just don't look man made, they all look like their base is automatically generated instead of each character starting from scratch. This may not be the case, but it's what they look like to me.

I don't even like these games and I'll say that the 2D art in the Marvel Vs Capcom games has always been some of the most impressive visuals I've ever seen, but then I look at the 3D games and I think "Well now it just looks like every other 3D fighting game ever"

No. There IS some consistent (and lots of inconsistent) iconography from game to game that some people notoriously including the authors of Hyrule Historia have tried to organize into a grand epic but I'm sure the original devs just did it superficially.

We should have a thread where we attempt to create the most ridiculous possible version of these for prolific game series like Point Blank or something.

Maybe. The 2nd game is not really as good as the first, they added a lot more stuff but it lost a lot of the platforming charm.
The 3D game was just terrible and killed the series, they should have done like Rayman instead.

Seasons might be the best GBC game. Ricky's the man.

Thought they were both pretty weak and boring, but they weren't bad by any measure. It really felt to me like they were just trying to push out new Zelda games for anything quickly to print more cash.

I'll always be resentful with the Adventure series because it reminds me of the time Sega went down, went third party and Sonic went to Nintendo.
When pic related came out I was so infuriated.
A few years ago I bought a Gamecube and loved SA2B and all the other Sega games on it, I stopped being a console war baby, but it still hurt back then.

The Contemporary hotel still has a small arcade with ski-ball and a few games

During the golden age, Disney had the best arcades
