Why do people hate on this game? Travelling to a bunch of different worlds made it so much better than the first one.
From what I've seen it's just one guy who hates the game because he's too retarded to read the manual or use common sense.
According to him the entire game takes place in the sewers.
I don't think the different setting is what made it better.
It's the overall polishing with improved graphics, more alternate options.
On the downside it couldn't possibly be as innovative as the first one.
Anyone ever play this? You like it? I thought it was fantastic and it did, in fact, teach me a lot on this period and area of history.Once I lost so bad I learned the Native NPCs got their own special ending article in the Colonial Gazette if every single player is eliminated from the game.

so a mix of civ and simcity, with a tbs combat at some moments?
too bad its looks like some EGA game, but its newer than sc2000
What games are you getting? Any recommendations? I already picked up in the last bundle:
-Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
-Streets of Rage 2
-Toejam and Earl
-Sonic 2
Doesn't look like the latter 2 are being offered this time.

I'm fairly certain you can get all 58 games in a bundle for under $10 a few times a year. Not sure why anyone would pick and choose. Just get everything when you can on sale as a bundle.
Sega Genesis is good console and all but I'm tired of seeing these games being rereleased over and over.
Is asking for Saturn, Dreamcast and even Xbox/Game Cube titles too much for Sega?
>>4048472
Yes because that would require effort on their part.
I need your help. Is this a "good" hack /vr/?
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3473/
You could just play the japanese version, my dude, it's not like text is important in this game.
>>4048391
This is a fucking pointless hack.
>>4048391
Whoever made this obviously has too much free time and mild autism.
What do you guys think about /vr/ remakes? Whether it be merely an updated port or a full-blown remake. I'm personally thankful we get these from time to time. It makes me happy that the the memories of older games is so strong that the developers decide to invest in a new rendition and potentially introduce a new generation of people to a game.
Currently playing pic related. Really enjoying it. The lack of awakening-era bells and whistles reminds me fondly of when FE7 first came out in the US. Sorry to dingle your berries if this thread isn't seen as /vr/.
>>4048029
I like remakes, if they are bad you will always have the original. If they are good you have a new awesome game to play.
>>4048029
I like remakes, but sometimes I feel like they don't change the games enough because they're scared about pissing off purist fags.
Also I feel like good games get remade too often, when remakes are probably the best chance to give less popular games a second chance by fixing their mistakes.
Did Ocarina of Time really need a new coat of paint? Zelda 2 on the other hand could have used a massive visual overhaul, a refined battle system, better dialogue, and a fucking check point system so you don't go back to the beginning of the game upon a game over. Throw in a few extra goodies to make travel a little more fun and suddenly Zelda 2 goes from a 5/10 to a 9/10
>>4048285
Wasn't Ocarina 3D just a port with a few minimal shit changed?
What's your favourite game developed by Novotrade, /vr/? I can't decide between Chakan the Forever Man and Castlevania for Amiga.

(Not exactly Novotrade) but Cold Dreams

Was a failure. One of the worse ports ever made

Ecco the dolphin of course
anyone play the Enhanced Edition of BG1, BG2 and Icewind Dale? Theres a lot of old RPGs I missed out on in my childhood and I've been looking forward to playing these, but I heard the Enhanced Edition adds a lot of stupid characters and story changes that I'd really rather avoid, if true.
General GOG summer sale too maybe? Any other old games you're looking into getting? Was thinking of Gothic 2, Grim Fandango, Planescape Torment and Arcanum also. Is Gothic 1 as good as Gothic 2? Why the fuck isn't Morrowind on sale?!
>>4047980
BG 1 EE adds BG 2 style gameplay and classes. Also adds a few new NPCs who are easily ignored.
BG 2 EE has the new NPCs, who are slightly more in your face.
IWD EE adds BG 2 style combat and classes.
Siege of Dragonspear has your typical modern RPG features, such as sodomites and trannies shoveled down your throat. In terms of actual gameplay its ok. It is infinity engine, after all. Much better than, say, Pillars of Eternity. I'd play it again, which is more than I can say for any other RPG made in the last 15 years.
>>4047980
I think it's probably a better idea to just hunt down the original versions and use mods. The EE's change/add way too many things in BG1 for the purist in me to not get annoyed, and I don't think the minor interface alterations are that great.
Also not retro but UnderRail is 50% off in that gog sale and that's a damn fine RPG.

I don't know exactly what it is about the Sonic Jam OST, but it has this otherworldly retro feel. It's like being stuck in the past and the future simultaneously. Some might call that the present... but we don't. We call it
SONIC JAM.
But seriously, what was it about this soundtrack that made you just stare at the screen for a half-hour, sucking in the ambiance? "Game Manual" made game manuals fun again. And that synth at the beginning of "Intro Movie" (after the Sonic Team bit) is such a great pad sound, man.
The songs are kinda simple compared to many other Sonic games, but the lossy compression is just right and the arrangements are just complex enough to keep you interested.
How did they do it?

Is there any adapter available that would allow me to connect a modern fight stick to a sega saturn?
>>4046301
mc cthulu
If you're talking about a USB only stick, it's going to be a pain in the ass. If it's PS2/1 compatible, there's a cheap adapter and there's also a pretty decent Sega brand arcade stick still available brand new for cheap they were so overproduced.
Don't mind me. I'm just here to fuck up your control groups.
>use arbiters all the time
>never have problems with my groups
What are you on about OP?
We sense a soul in search of answers.

No, seriously OP, what are you on about? Is it a glitch? INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW MOTHERFUCKER!
digimon world 1 > monster rancher > pokemon
King of sukadic
DQM>Pokemon>Monster Rancher>Robopon>Digimon

Monster Rancher is superior to all if only for the fact that I don't have to deal with poop
The first Stronghold uses different map shapes for the mission intros depending on the localization.
People who play the English version sees a map of England, and people who play the official Portuguese or Spanish versions see the map of the Iberian Peninsula instead.
I grew up on PC. Carmageddon, Motocross Madness, Monster Truck Madness, Big Red Racing, GTA, Skunny Kart, Wacky Wheels, NFS SE and a few others were staples of my PC experience.
What racing console games on PlayStation and N64 are must plays?
Beetle Adventure Racing
Crash Team Racing
Gran Turismo
>>4044945
Pretty much the top selling ones. GT2, Ridge Racer, Wipeout, CTR, etc. Only game that doesn't get talked about is Sledstorm. Really great game and soundtrack.
Real Racing Roots '99 In...
BRIGHTEST NIGHT
Definitely one of my favorite tracks.
Did anyone else stick to drift cars all the time? I couldn't figure out how to use grip cars.
>>4044295
Grip cars are kinda like being more realistic cars. You don't rely on drifts so when you let go of the gas to turn you don't have as much oversteer from drifting so you can go without pressing the gas again for a little while. but imo ridge racer is all about the drifts so I don't drive those cars that often. what's your favourite track then?
