Can we get a GCCX thread going?
>>4000146
Whatcha' wanna talk about in specific, most non-heinous bro of mine?
>>4000147
Why not? I actually bought that English DVD boxset to support Arino
>>4000156
But GCCX threads have been here since 2013
So i found a nice 27: Trinitron for dirt cheap on my local Craigslist, it looks beautifull but theres a slight purple hue on the right edge of the screen, is this cheap and or easy to fix?
Also, this thing has Svideo and Component inputs, im gon na play Nes Snes N64 and Gcube on this so, should i get one of those Multiout to Svideo cables? I could mod my Snes for Component if it meant better image than what i could get on Svideo.

>slight purple hue on the right edge of the screen
It was probably stored on its side for a while. It should correct itself after a few days.
It's just gausing probably from being moved around it'll go away on its own over time or you can degause it manually.
How's the Steam version? I read that it doesn't have battle lag, plus I imagine it's free from PSX wobble. Definitive version?
It's the best version, go play it.
>>4076728
The definitive version is CRT + original hardware. The steam version makes the characters too smooth for the background, which is unplayable to whoever
>>4076747
>go play it
Why so pushy? Perhaps because you're trolling OP, who's a baby who can't even use google to find comparison videos and needs /vr/'s consesus to do anything
>>4076728
The ios version of this game is really good. It looks beautiful on that screen. Being that it's a turn based rpg the touch screen controls areent bothersome.
Who had a gameboy printer or camera back in the day? What kind of crazy stuff did you print out or take pictures of?
I took pictures of my pens.
I used one in Toys R Us to take pictures of games. That was it.
>>4076503
I did this
I've been trying to find for months in the android games section a game I used to play when I was 10 ('94).
We called it "Sliding Puzzle", but that's not the kind of puzzle you find everywhere (pic attached)
It's one where no tile is missing and you got an extra piece to move the others.
Does any of you remember this one, or got any link?
this one?
it's same of a rubik cube on 2D, I used to play.. then I switched to the cube
maybe this?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=g501.sliderpuzzle.basic
What do they mean by (sigma)?
>>4076293
He's one of the JEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWS.
Seriously now; It's a text notation method sometimes used in Japanese media to denote some manner of importance. Like JoJo does with 「STANDS」 and the Liarsoft VNs do with <<Metacreatures>>. I can't really put it into words without autism but think of it as a means of highlighting specific parts of the text.
I remember answering the same question here, a few months back.
Like the poster above said, brackets are used in place of quotes in japanese. I looked into the japanese opening, and it says 「シグマ」in there. So a translation would be just "Sigma".
Now get out.
Because his proper name is literally the greek symbol Σ. To spell it out in English is technically incorrect, and the brackets let you know that.
I feel like playing Chrono Trigger again, which retranslation project is the best? I heard the DS version has best translation overall but I want to play it on a SNES for nostalgia reasons.
>>4075823
Why don't you want to play the SNES translation?
>>4075834
I read that the official translation censored a bunch of stuff like religious references and alcohol or changed a lot of names and added confusing dialogue (from what I can remember from the top of my mind is Melchior's line: "Someone close to you is in grave danger, find that person, fast.") Also Frog's annoying manner of speaking that never existed in the japanese version.

https://www.romhacking.net/translations/1258/
Here are two of the more known fantranslations of it. The first is by Chrono Compendium, the main chrono series fansite. The second is a reworking of the CC fantranslation.
Honestly though I say just go with the ds version. The bonus content added to it is kind of weak but its still nice and the translation is good.
>>4075834
Not him but while fairly decent there are some really weird inconsistencies. Things like Frog being the only one in his time period to have the "ye old English" style if speaking being one of the bigger ones.
>>4075848
It isn't terrible, it's no Breath of Fire II, but it does have weird lines. That one line "Someone close to you is in grave danger, find that person, fast." is pretty infamous for how many insane theories it caused, that single line has entire articles on it.
This may be an odd question, but just to settle a dispute: can anyone think of any licensed (or not) video games based on children's books/comics/cartoons etc. that pre-dated the Popeye Game and Watch in 1981? Was it the first?
>>4075557
I recall Atari having a licensed game of Batman. It was 1978 or 1979 maybe?

I want to buy a Super Famicom to replace my 2-chip PAL SNES.
Is there a more reliable site than eBay for buying one that will be in good condition?
Will it require any modding to play an SD2SNES?
>>4075082
Get one from a local retro gameshop and have them test it infront of you.
>>4075082
Also get a Super Everdrive China Version. The additional game support (you can count them on two hands) is bot worth the extra $150.
And no, modding is not neccessary to use a flash cart.
Should I get a Super Famicom Jr for it's supposedly better RGB output?
Hi, ive been searching this stupid game since hours ago and all i get is broken links, no sound versions and Nintendo64 emulator.
If somebody can help me to find this game (the pc version), it will be in my heart forever :*

>>4074718
does this work on xp? and does it really work on 7? last i heard this game was still fucked on pc..
Why is Minesweeper such a bitch?
This has happened to me multiple times it's ridiculous
It's a very easy game. You can't lose it if you have more than 80 IQ.
>>4074394
It's impossible to know where the mines are in those games I played, though. You have to guess.
Do you believe Sonic Adventure is a good game or a bad game?
I still enjoy it, I play it like once a year or so. Emerald Coast gives me chills to this day.
>>4073878
It's my favourite sonic game. Main reason is that the athmosphere for most of it is fantastic. It has a few bugs, but once you figure them out it plays very good.
>>4073878
It's a mediocre game that aged horribly bad.
Let's talk about Age of Wonders
Post your:
>favorite race
>favorite unit
>favorite hero
currently playing this even though I am taking a little hiatus after burning out a little on a fuckhuge map (the one where you gotta help the dwarves, took me forever to finish). But I really love this game, the music and the graphics and just the little things like how the battlemap changes depending on the territory on the world map or the decisions you can make throughout the campaign.
I've had it sitting in my GoG account for years now and I've never actually played it.
Should I? What's it like?
Halflings
Halfling Pony
I honestly don't remember, I just really like Halflings
>>4073801
>Should I? What's it like?
Fantasy Civilisation with a bigger emphasis on combat, combat is like a tactical RPG.
can anyone please fucking tell me how this was allowed?
i mean is it not fucking obvious character development is important in rpgs, and you fucking decide to do this?
how the fuck did this decision go through? its comically disgusting
also its a shit game and if you think its good ur just getting off on contrarianism
>>4072510
It is good though. It may get retarded near the end and supposedly kills off Trigger's characters in an offensive way but the game as a whole is better than most games on the PS.
>>4072510
The important characters get development tho. You can ignore 95% of those.
Personally I like having a lot of characters to play around with. It's fun. Do you like fun, OP?
Not enough playable characters. I'm coming off a Suikoden high.
