So what game did you choose when you bought your PSX?
I picked FF7.
>PSX
Sure is hot outside.
I bought one so I could play FF7 when it came out.
Ridge Racer Revolution.
Coming from the Saturn and Daytona USA, Sega Rally, and Sega Touring Car, I know I needed to jump camps if I wanted more for my racing fix. Needless to say Ridge Racer Type 4 and Gran Turismo 2 satisfied that for a long time.
Not to mention other classic games on the system.
Still much love for the Saturn too <3
Which Capcom Dreamcast fighter was the best?
>>4075407
I got the most mileage from MvsC2 because of the huge roster to unlock, but they're extremely different games. It's kind of pointless to compare them.
It's a shame JoJo didn't include the awesome extras from the PS version though
I played Project Justice the most, but Alpha 3 was good too. I just wish Maki was in the DC version.
I always liked KOF99 a bunch
actual 99 not the 98 99.
Well I just found this at my local thrift shop
what am I in for?
52 Action packed games.
>>4074516
Shovelware of the highest quality.
reminder that input lag is real
>>4073947
Reminder that while it's real it's such a minor issue that anyone can easily adapt to it and only use it as an excuse for why they suck.
>>4073968
Except for lightgun games.
>>4073981
Ok that being a good exception but I don't even know how you'd get a setup where that becomes a problem without the gun just not working in general. Except for the Saturn port of House of the Dead there's actually a pretty horrendous lag that really screws with your aiming.
I beat Robocop vs Terminator yesterday. Did you beat a game lately? Why don't you go beat one right now?
im in the process of beating system shock again
>>4062506
>playing games instead of just complaining about them
Now why the hell would i do that?
I recently bear Chrono Trigger with a waifu-only party (Ayla, Marle, Lucca). They actually make a surprisingly strong group. Granted the game is piss-easy in general.
Hey all, so I've gotten a sudden urge to revisit Breath of Fire. Figure make a thread here for anyone else interested.
I haven't touched the games since my emulating days back in elementary school. I know I didn't finish BoF I, and I barely remember BoF II.
Which version(s) would you recommend? I heard that they remade both game for the GBA, but I also heard that there are fan translations of the game (guessing to make the story more comprehensible).
>>4058361
Honestly none of them are that great, but BoF II is probably the best one.
>>4058361
we don't make these kinds of threads here
4 and 5 are the best ones
Anyways you're about to find out why we don't have these threads often . Shame really.
Does /vr/ partake in the Final Fantasy V Four Job Fiesta?
I've done it four years now and this is the only way I play FF5. I revisit several Final Fantasy games annually but the Fiesta is my scheduled revisit to 5. I've gotten to know this game so well it's satisfying to form strategies around party compositions.
This will be the first year that I'll be playing it. Should I just run the default Normal/All Jobs/No Restrictions?
I've played FF5AC before so I'm not a complete scrub, but the other rules just sound boring.
>>4047650
I'd recommend going Normal for your first year, although even if you go with those special options there's a chance you might just get a pretty normal party. I don't imagine those special options add a whole lot besides the occasional zerk or double job.
>>4047638
Waiting for the days.
I dunno if Ill see my playthrough through, but who knows.
>>4080639
man that's nothing, just normal 90s american edge. you should read some of the Chinese or Korean shit
>>4080641
better than the oficial snk mythos

skyrim for nes
thoughts, /vr/?
Not retro.I'm just fucking with you. If they can port FF7 to the NES and Halo to the 2600, then why not?
I bet it's shit
pre-order it
Post annoying enemies that make you rage.
El Gado
>Final Fight
>arcade
-Stabs you while out of reach of your attacks
-Stabs you while you're getting up
-Stabs you after you do your desperation attack
-Flying stab move that's even be done from off the screen
-Sliding move that is sometimes instantaneous
hitting this fucker on the head without getting hurt is almost impossible unless you have a fire flower
>>4079434
You'd have to be legit bad at video games to think this guy was annoying
The original NES SMB1 Hammer Bros take the cake with the SMB3 Hammer Bros as a second
>Oh, you're a melee fighter?
>Let me just leisurely walk away at your exact same walking speed
>Also there's some friend's I'd like to introduce you to
Would anyone like to share their opinions on "PUNCH-OUT" for the NES ?
Personally, I think it's an astounding game, with very few possible glitches, and incredibly well-hidden hints for certain opponents, easy to get into, no overcomplicated controls, quick and responsive combat experience, and, best of all, there is no "Bullshit"; You can't die and blame it on the game design ; any fault is on you. Dodging Macho Man's tornado punch and without stopping and still get hit, you're dodging faster than his punch comes back. You ran out of blocks in the middle of Piston Honda's special, you should've blocked less and dodged more earlier into the match.
Also, the fucking character names are the BEST !!!
>>4078873
Best boxing game ever to this day. It's sequels aren't half bad either.
>>4080934
;^)
I played the game on Wii and 3DS a lot but having read up on latency in emulators since then I will never know if my weaknesses stem from my own reaction time or the lag between input. I have come to the conclusion that the only way to truly experience a game is on its original console.
For the record I've made it up to Macho Man.

They just restocked their cables if any of you guys are interested.

Nice, Deschannel Famicom-senpai.
I'm considering buying some.
Very cool, thanks! Hope you give a similar warning when the GDemu becomes available.
I knew they were going up from $40. Thought it was going to be $50, but now it is $53 per cable. I do not know if I'd want to double down with these, even though I already do the RGB thing with upscalers. I don't think I can afford these at the moment, so in a way I hope they sell out so the temptation is removed as I don't think I need them, yet they would give me more connectivity options for my old systems. Also I cannot think of an ethical way to get the kind of funds right now, so it was a more comforting knowing it is not an option available to me.
Why kill Tails? Sonic has nothing of value that would be worth in trade of Tails' life, so killing him seems unnecessary.
>>4078596
Because fuck that shotabait piece of shit.
>>4078596
>Why kill Tails?
He violated the NAP
HAND OVER THE EMERALDS SONIC.
Why does everyone treat Him like the big bad guy? All He wants is a humanity that follows His Will and doesn't fuck shit up, and to have His Name praised a little. Is that too much to ask?
>>4078434
It is. Fuck that guy.
>>4078434
Why is he so bald?

Maybe if you don't know how to miniturbo.
All 3 raceway tracks (Mario, Luigi, Royal) are top 3 just because they are designed the most for competitive play, and resemble real life go-kart circuits.
>Wario Stadium and Toad's Turnpike that low
>Banshee and Yoshi that high
I don't know, feels like it's all backwards. At least I agree with Mario Raceway being 1.

I spam miniturbos constantly regardless of the track. Doing it on a gentle oval shape is more boring than on a tight twisting course. I have Yoshi high because it's the hardest, mostly.
My opinions are mostly based on playing time trial though because none of my friends will play a 20-year-old game with me. So I don't know what's fun in multiplayer or not.
