What is the most accurate program to emulate Neo Geo titles? I've read that MAME isn't optimal. Also, this is likely a common question, but is there an inexpensive way to utilize any form of original hardware? Possibly an MVS flash cart or something?

I was hoping to use a 3DS because I was gonna buy a new one anyway and didn't want to waste extra money on this. Literally everything about it looks good for emulation though and I can play FFT: WotL on it. Win win.

okay, this might be hard to get an answer from the people I want to, but is there anyone who played Metroid 2 back when it came out? Without spoiler I mean?
What I want to know is, how did you react to the ending? Did you try to shoot the larva when it emerged? Did you understand what was going on?
Incidentally, did playing Metroid and Metroid 2 beforehand affect your experience of Super Metroid? Did it made its sacrifice more meaningful

Yes, and I thought it was really cool, one of my favorite game endings still. Don't remember if I tried shooting at it at first, but it's probable.

I didn't notice that until people complained about it online years later. Honestly, Metroid 1 doesn't have a lot going on in all that additional space. Might be interesting to compare the player sprite/screen ratio in the newer ones.

I'm an RPG newb, I played Final Fantasy 1 and Dragon Quest 1&2, now I wanted to play Final Fantasy 2 but wtf is this shit?
The leveling system that everyone hates aside, every character has a specific stat for each weapon, in the battle some characters are on the front and some on the back, those on the back can only attack with a bow, you can give a character two weapons, or two shields, or one weapon and one shield, or let them be barehanded (apparently some are better having nothing equipped?), and you don't know what's better
What were they thinking? Please tell me other Final Fantasy games are not like this

have only one character in the front so his evasion will go up faster
give magic to characters in the back row, and use bows to conserve MP
avoid heavy armor

thanks for the reply, I'd probably still use it to switch video even though it'd be highly inconvenient. That's just the kind of person I am. It would be pretty neat because I could hook up stuff like my n64 and vcr to the receiver. Then whenever I get around to buying some speakers I'll be totally set.

Yeah, just not as much. Last weekend I pulled an N64 with 6 good titles and 4 controllers for 20 bucks.
That's it though. Went to 20+ houses and it's all xb360 and DS shovelware.

Yes. There will always be jews and jerks, you just gotta shrug it off -- it's part of the hustle. You go to enough of these things and you will find a good deal. Not as many these days, but it's still possible.
That said, I don't personally do second hand sales anymore, I just buy the games I want on ebay or whatever. Going to flea markets or yard sales isn't really about the money "saved" anyways, it's about the thrill of the hunt.
