Post 5th gen puzzle games. Pic related and Wetrix were the shit.
Baku Baku.
Sega released a 8-bit version on SMS and GG (and for some reason, this version was the one ported to Windows PC), but the Saturn version is the only one that's like the arcade.
Good game, can get pretty crazy.
Pic related.

What were they thinking of making HEAL the only healing consumable in-game? If only we could use cabins inside the dungeons...
>>4095317
You want to make a piss easy game even easier? Jesus christ this place sometimes.
>>4095324
This is not about making the game easy but faster. You have to agree NES version is as slow as you can ask for.
learn to pick your fights inside dungeons you cock smoking mongoloid
Would it be possible to romhack games to use the Playstation Mouse? It was only supported by a few games, and it would help a lot of FPS on the PS1 a lot to use it.
>>4094602
some games support lightgun so you're better off using that.
>>4094602
Pretty much anything is possible. Whether anyone would devote the time and effort is another story.
<3 the mouse
what are some decent emulators i can run/ games i can play on an hp 2000 notebook?
>>4094386
Pretty much anything pre n64 is a given. If it runs like a dog, you could learn linux. Lots of dead simple distros out there now that already have drivers for most laptops. Google lightweight Linux distros. Mint, puppy are a few.
>>4094397
how about ps2 level stuff?
>>4094401
unlikely
Anyone use pic related?
I've heard really great things from this brand in regards to making controller extensions. As my battlestation grows I find that I need extensions.
Also anyone know where I can get tomee brand extension for gamecube? They made them at one point but i haven't been able to find them anywhere now.
>>4094373
what input could you possibly be looking for
if it hooks the controller to the systme its going to work..why do you need to talk about this
>>4094381
some are much worse than others, some have shitty build quality and break quickly. This is a brand that i've heard is good and would like to know peoples opinions. Maybe big name third party controller extenders are the safer path to go.
Thank you
We sell Hyperkin shit at the store I work at, their stuff is a mixed bag. My girlfriend picked up the one in OPs pic and the wire started to split around the plug a little bit, but for $5 I'd say it's worth it so long as you don't wrap it too tightly around a controller or something.
This game is absolutely incredible and I'm incredibly disappointed in myself that I didn't really like it as much when I first played it.
Once I started my second playthrough and started getting good at finding structures and combos that would keep up my momentum, working out the best routes to take and which order to tag the spots in, chasing after those JET Ranks and trying to find the infinite grind spots in each section, I went from thinking it was a decent game but a bit clunky to realising it was a truly amazing game that rewarded those who would take the time to learn it with an incredible amount of freedom.
I don't think any video game will ever blow me away with such a simple thing as the moment I realised that the amount of grafffiti tags you can spray before the second wave of police turn up is the exact number of graffiti tags in the level that require you to stop and enter the inputs.
The game definitely had it's faults but the core design was absolutely impeccable.
This is truly an incredible game and I am miserable that in the unlikely event that Sega ever makes another Jet Set Radio game, it will most likely not be modelled after the first game and will probably be some empty open-world bullshit with nothing about the game that's worth playing more than once.
>I went from thinking it was a decent game but a bit clunky to realising it was a truly amazing game that rewarded those who would take the time to learn it
Sega games in a nutshell.

>the amount of grafffiti tags you can spray before the second wave of police turn up is the exact number of graffiti tags in the level that require you to stop and enter the inputs.
For real? Damn, that sounds cool. Also, I always thought it was cool how all the sub areas in the map have secret paths to each other to cut down on time.
I tried to like this game. I even played through it twice, once on DC and once on 360. It's just feels way too slow, and the graffiti mechanic is too stop-and-go for my liking. It's interesting, but I didn't find it all that fun.
What are your favourite roguelikes, /vr/?

For a short while the guy on the front box art looked like moot.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Exlporers of Sky, and Crypt of the Necrodancer
>>4093750
I don't see the resemblance.
I'm considering buying one of these.
Anyone on /vr/ have one?
What do you think of it?
My main concern is durability.
I've have bad experiences with repro systems before.
>>4093727
Just buy a top loader or wait for the SNES Mini.
Not to derail but anyone know if the Atari flashbacks are any good? If so which version? Only review I've seen is make sure to get wired controllers
>>4093809
The wireless controllers used in Flashbacks up through 7 use infrared so you have to aim them at the console.
The Flashback 8 models coming out later this year don't use infrared. (One comes with wired controllers; the other two models come with 2.4GHz RF wireless controllers.)

Behold, the only good original Master System games.
>inb4 Phantasy Star
Left out because turn-based JRPGs have aged like avocados.
>mentioning how a game didn't "age well"
>on /vr/ of all places
>>4093220
Are you implying all old games age poorly?
>>4093140
Phantasy Star actually aged quite well, especially dungeons.
What should I use as my retro gaming emulation machine - a Raspberry Pi, Nintendo Wii, or my Macbook laptop?
>>4092498
Wii is your best shot applefag but you wont be able to run 3d games.
odrioid
All of those are terrible choices if you want N64 emulation. Wii would probably be the best choice only for VC n64 games.
For everything else that's "retro", it doesn't really matter between Wii/Pi/Macbook. I prefer a modded wii with gamecube ports just to have access to Nintendont to play gamecube iso's and have a dedicated device always connected to a TV.
anyone still have the willingness to die 50 times to a boss to figure out the pattern and actually win, even if it feels hopeless the first couple tries?
pic related, went through that bitch pocky and rocky
NOT EASY FOLKS
>>4092443
Nice, contratulations bro.
>>4092443
yeah, it's a lot of fun. i just played this game for this first time a few weeks ago. I'd play a game or two a night, hit a wall, and come back the next day and get a little farther. I still can't figure out how to get past of the first phase of the vampire; he wreaks me every time unless I bomb bomb him. The game has a really good learning curve.
I have it for bosses that let me retry without replaying a bunch of stuff. It's much harder for me to beat games such as Castlevania that make me replay levels to fight bosses than games with a save right before the boss. For example I had no problem spending 2 straight hours learning how to beat Warmaster in Distorted Travesty 3, but even spending 30 minutes to beat a boss where I have to replay levels would kill my spirit. I'm glad lives are something that modern game designed has mostly phased out, but I accept it's just something to deal with un older games.
