Guess game
Killing Time
What do I win?
>grab a cart of pokemon gold
>saves fine
>take it out to play something else
>pop it back in later
>save's gone.
tried it a few times and it seems to only delete when shaken or removed. the guys i bought it from say they replaced all the batteries when they take a new copy so it sounds like it may be loose?
anyone else had this plroblem before?
gonna hit up the shop again later and see if they'll let me use their tools to take a peak. i don't mind much though. i like messing with stuff like this.
>>4084906
If it was installed with electrical tape, smack the person at the desk.
>anon gets pokemons opened
>turns out it's a cheap repro with globtop
>tries to get refund
>people at store he bought it from laugh and say he's trying to scam them with a fake he bought online
>now has pokemon he can never remove from GB without losing save
Either this or they mucked up the solder points replacing the battery.

i've known these guys for a while so i think it's the latter.
easy fix at least.
Anyone else love the early steps at online gaming? I think it's really interesting watching it evolve.

>Anyone else love the early steps at online gaming?
No I don't enjoy remembering that nightmare. Especially SEGA Channel. Some of the keyboards are neat though.
Wasn't till 6thgen that you actually had games made for online.
Knew a kid in elementary school who's family had Sega Channel. I pretty much lived at their house for a summer staying up all night playing that shit, and fucking around on AOL chatrooms trying to get girls to send us pics.
The games did take a while to download, maybe ten minutes? But playing through Gunstar Heroes two player was awesome. First played Vectorman on Sega Channel. I think MK3 was split into two or three parts with a few characters in each part probably to save on the download time. Still some good ass shit though.
You know what time it is. It's time for the daily Trog thread.

so they had this totally unrelated game everybody hated and salvaged it by turning it into a cross between pac-man and a belt scroller
I'll never forget seeing my character get their flesh torn from his bones by one of those fuckers. Rattled my little five year old self.
If anyone remembers The Realm Online there is a newer free private server available. https://discord.gg/FrEkt49 is their discord and website is https://mistwalkers.co
Oh I used to love this game!
Seems they've made quite a few changes to the original game. Pretty cool stuff!
Never played this, care to introduce it the fellow that cant access youtube inside the job?
Post your favorite screw ups and bootlegs.
So nowadays there are plenty of non English games that got an English patch out now. Think of Mother 1 for Famicom which got a fan translation (and an official Nintendo release years later). So could you please name games that have gotten a fan translation by now that I should check out? I am open for anything.
>>4081907
Mother had an official localization many years before the fan-translation for the GBA version; but the english localization was only officially released for the first time on the Wii U. You can just go to romhacking.net and search by console, genre, language, and completion status to find games you're interested in.
Here's my top 10, in no particular order:
Metal Max Returns
Breath of Fire 2 (retranslation)
Radia Senki: Reimeihen
Live-A-Live
Seiken Densetsu 3
Treasure of the Rudras
For the Frog the Bell Tolls
Live-A-Live
Gunman's Proof
Monster World IV

Seconding Metal Max Returns. What a great game. It's got a tiny bit of a learning curve, and the encounter rate can be annoying sometimes, but ultimately it is a kickass game and a great treat for any retro JRPG fan.
Share with us your first gaming memory.
>my cousin home, 1991 circa, i guess
>confusing memory of him playing a game on the NES
>some guy in a space suit (?) with a slingshot. I don't even know if this game really exist.
pic unrelated

I was too young to remember it. I just remember playing games on SNES, but can't remember which ones. All I remember is the day it broke. But I still have the super mario world cartridge somewhere.
The first actual memory of me playing videogames was when I got a PS1 and played Crash Bandicoot 3. We didn't get a memory card for over a month and me and my dad just kept replaying CB3 every day or two and eventually I didn't want to shut down the PlayStation just so we can progress a bit further tomorrow.
Seeing Tron in the theater, playing Pac-Man with my mom at the grocery store or playing Dig-Dug with my dad at the bar. All early-early 3 or 4 year old memories so hard to say the order.
I have clear memories of playing marios 1-3 and mario bros on different occasions but I can't say which came first. Probably 1/3 > bros > 2.
Citadel Station + Cyberspace
or
UNN character creation / tutorial + Von Braun + Rickenbacker + Body of The Many + reality-warping SS1 throwback
?
The latter, although the Rickenbacker and everything after it are fairly weak.

System Shock. It's far superior to its shit sequel.
how well versed is /vr/ in russian point and click games? has anyone here played pilot brothers? im looking for a specific game that may have only come out in russia, it was a 2d pc point and click released sometime between 95 and 2005 about Sinbad. It doesn't look like sinbad pc games are documented anywhere but the graphics looked very Sierra ish. The game had a screen with a tiger where you had to get his eye gem or something. Also a big desert segment with a bone skull of an animal out in the open i think it had a snake inside if you checked it. I remember it had a cave area with many doors or something.
Anyone got a registration key for this ancient program called "X-Wing Editor Pro 1.52"? Or better yet, anyone know of a better pilot editor I can use in DOSBox (Win 7 host)? I just wanna cheese some shit in X-Wing.
pic related
OP here. I managed to find PFE210, which let me cheese my way through Imperial Pursuit. Now I just need something that'll do the same for B-Wing. Anyone know of a program that does this? Or a reg key for X-Wing Editor Pro?
OP again. Well I'm an idiot. I forgot I had the TOPACE5 pilot, which basically lets me do what I was wanting anyway. So, nevermind. Sorry for wasting /vr/'s space on an unnecessary thread.
Is there a physical version of this?
Can't get any info on it.
Just get the PSX versions (Llylgamyn Saga)
No. It was a pure Nintendo Power release.
/vr/, what's your opinion on War Wind? I always wanted to play it as a kid but never had the money.
WHY NO MULTIPLAYER! FUCK YOU SSI!
>>4077881
Constant crashes when I tried it on Windows 7.
>>4077881
I played it as a kid but didn't understand it at all.
Maybe I should give it another try now that I know how games work.
At the end of next week, I'm visiting my sister. Since I have moved to another country, I don't get to see her that often, so I would love to bond with her and maybe play some Famicom games. What games would /vr/ recommend? Rare games, hacks and homebrews are fine, just as long as they don't use weird mappers the Everdrive N8 doesn't support.
Playing through the american cup (or world cup, if you're more ambitious) in Super Spike V'ball is a fun 2-player coop experience. The game plays smooth, looks great and has a sweet soundtrack. B is jump though, which takes some getting used to, other than that, it's a engaging coop experience.
Also you can play as grills with a game genie code: https://tcrf.net/Super_Spike_V%27Ball
Play Moero Twinbee 2. Fun multiplayer sidescrolling shmup that's cute, charming and will make you smile while still being challenging.

You posted this same thread a bunch of times. I bet you dont even have a sister
>this ENTIRE quest
how could you have done this without a guide?
