I got tired of the high prices on SNES items in Europe and North America, and decided to buy Super Famicon from Japan. Games are much cheaper, and I could also buy the game system without paying customs. Is there any negatives about buying Super Famicom except the language and having to buy an unoriginal power supply? Most of the games I want to play doesn't require me to understand what people are saying.

Man, I bought Final Fantasy IV, V, VI and Chrono Trigger for about twenty bucks. This kind of feels like cheating.
>>
>>4109097
the biggest issue is that playing whatever US SNES games you want (eg, if you want to play games where language is an actual barrier to entry) is a pain because of the slot shape
it's loads easier to convert a US SNES to play SFC cartridges rather than vice-versa

that's all I can think of though
>>

>language is an actual barrier to entry

I could probably play the jRPGs I've played sleeping. At least I'm going to try. Looking most forward to Donkey Kong games though.

Component cables are back in Stock at HDretrovision. Com. Get em before they're gone full fuckers.

Forgot to add .. for the SNES and Genesis

I take it these would be a pointless purchase if I already use RGB scart cables with my Framemeister?
>>
>>4108935
These are for HD CRT televisions with YUV component input.

If your LCD television has YUV component inputs, it might work (has compatibility issues with some TVs), but the quality would probably be shit like 99% of consumer LCDs that accept analog signals. Framemeister is much better for that kind of thing.

one of the first consoles to incorporate a pause button kiddo
>>
>>4108431
Doesn't mean anything if they didn't implement it right - just like the Jaguar being the first "64 bit" system
>>
>>4108437
the difference is that a pause button is much more insignificant than, say, the entire structure and framework of your console's hardware.

your image alone is the size of an NES game. that being said, notice that all the games are really simple, no SMB3. That means they were prolly pushing the memory density of the magnetic tape.

There are no worthwhile Neo Geo CD games, only subpar fighters with dated mechanics.

I was always interested in neo geo CD but never bought one because of the insane loading times. I wonder if anyone will ever make an sd card loader or any sort of enhancement to the slow ass cd drive

I've seen you tubers use this for 240p, but the manual only specified as low as 480i. Also, it doesn't appear o output 1080 or 720p, so is it only useful for certain types of LCD displays and not consumer tvs?

In what way?

My experience with the board was from a few years back when I use to run a videogame arcade. Ordered one to use with a LCD monitor since I couldn't afford a new Wells-Gardner CRT for a DDR Ultramax cab.

It worked surprisingly well for being a chear $25 crap board from china. Not sure if there is later reversions that change this, but when I was adjusting the single I had to "wrap around" on the H-Sync and V-Sync adjustments. Going from the lowest setting, looping back around to the highest, then actually dropping it to the correct frequency. Shit even told you to do that in the manual... Despite all this, it worked really well with a time sensitive game like DDR.

Recommend the thing, but keep in mind, its going to take a bit of playing with to get it dialed in.
>>
>>4108418

The same way a framemeister would be used to upscale retro video games, I was hoping that this would be a decent alternative.

>>4108424

Do, this thing is made for use with LCD monitors rather than LCD TVs?

What are your favorite Golf games?
For some reason, a lot of them are fun as fuck.
Probably my favorite ones are Neo Turf Masters and the Camelot developed Golf games (Mario Golf and Hotshots on playstatrion), but I also have a soft spot for the original Golf on Game Boy, played it for hours on end.

Who's genius idea was it to have a creature so cool like the Tentacle not show up in levels early where it can be useful, and instead bring it out later when it gets dwarfed by so many other creatures?
9 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
I've played this game a thousand times but never beaten the whole thing even though I love it so much, I just kind of get distracted by other things every time. One day I was reading the manual and found out about the supposed tentacles and almost died of shock, to this day I haven't seen them in action and I don't even know what they look like.
>>
probably peter molyneux
>>
They're rare as fuck, I can only remember seeing them a handful of times out of thousands of levels.

I don't think they can spawn on many maps; only watery maps from what I remember. I know you are supposed to put lairs near water to get passive XP boosts but lairs near water might be a spawn trigger.

so why does everyone think gamefreak is a bunch of smart people for making an inferior version of this over and over again? why is it ok for them to rip off enix?
