So now ZDoom forums carefully dance around Graf's terrible behaviour, like they're on a minefield, trying their best to avoid triggering him and MaxED'ing the GZD.
Are there more Tonemaps for GZDoom out there? Or are the ones it comes with just it? They're neat to fuck around with.
How long would it take to play and beat all games on the No Intro complete set?
Because i'm totes planning on doing that
I finished every game on the GB/GBC library and it took me 2 years of like one hour playing each day. So...
>>4144836
>your life when you hit a console with tons of JRPGs
>>4144836
that sounds like pure agony, even if you limited it to one machine
also, you'd need a win condition for endless games (unless your goal is to counterstop, in which case, good fucking luck)
Why did Konami never make a third Christopher Belmont Castlevania game?
>>4144507
because christopher is a beta name.
The Adventure Rebirth is literally a third Christopher game.
>>4144570
yeah, but the story is based on the first game
Ok lads, I'm moving back from Japan so creating a Super Famicom collection is now or never.
I'm thinking:
Super Fami Jr
Super Mario RPG
Starfox
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy games
Mario World
Yoshi's Island
Super Metroid
But I can speak Japanese so am looking for some more obscure titles.
Any recommendations?
>>4144407
does a modded Jr. really have a better image quality than even the 1Chip03 on the standard Super Famicom? I'm deciding which to buy and prefer the look of the older console
>>4144407
Wonder Project J
Power of the Hired
Tengai Makyou ZERO (will probably need clock battery replaced)
Lady Stalker
Madara 2
Aretha series
Fire Emblem series
Heracles series
Metal Max series

Shubibinman Zero

What the fuck were they thinking?
I can't think of anything more pathetic than the Mortal Kombat clones era
You call it pathetic, I call it lulzworthy, even after 20+ years.

When I was 16, I played this in 1999 at a friends house who had 3d0. We fucking loved it and the uncensored Samurai Shodown port. Even though it was fucking stupid, we loved the soundtrack. We had Tekken 3 and other much, much better games on playstation, but for some reason we loved this stupid ass game.
We also loved White Zombie, so that probably helped.
>>4144212
3DO has a samurai port?
How do you even play it?
I was on here yesterday and saw a Tekken 2 thread by an anon looking for shit but it was archived already so I couldn't respond. Anyway, I too am an anon whose favorite Tekken is Tekken 2. Here's a bunch of info that someone on here posted to me when I asked a while ago: https://pastebin.com/12H0V4F6
>>4143534
More like Tekken Too Slow.
Real men play 3.
>>4143534
How do you fighting game retards manage to read all that mental masturbation trash without falling asleep?
>>4145469
When you understand these games and how they work, reading details about them doesn't look like boring trash. If you had no musical talent or interest, reading a whole book about the tone scale would be like torture. But for a musician interested in that it could be thoroughly engaging and exciting.
I'm sure you find all sorts of things interesting that bore most others.
>Nepto Cave
>every enemy and boss is immune to debuffs and status effects
FUCKING KILL ME
FUCK THIS GAME
You're such a faggot, OP.
There are only two spots in FF3 that gave me trouble and I didn't cry over itThere's this cave you go to where there are dudes that split nonstop and I can't remember anymore, but basically I had to grind and get some ability to hurt them without them splitting.Right at the end game, I was underleveled and there was some kinda 4 boss boss-rush before the final boss and simply did not have the stats to finish that all up, so I grinded some levels and then was properly able to beat the game.
Btw, I played the famicom fan-translation.
FF3 is great, suck it up. It's a good game.
Debuffs have always been garbage in FF games.
>>4142907
Grind, my son. Grind.
After every major plot cut scene stay in the area and grind for a few hours. Then grind some more for good measure. This entry was too short for a FF game imo, and that made it difficult to half-ass grind and still be able to keep up with the game. There's no grinding sweet spot (y'know, that one spot later on in most games where you can grind away and catch up) so you gotta max out as much as possible while you can. And with the introduction of the job system, that increases the grinding time by a large margin.
Your reaction is EXACTLY why Squaresoft (pre-Squeenix) didn't release it wayyy back.
>N64 that I bought in 1996
still works like the first day
>Saturn that I bought in 1997
still works like the first day
>PS1 that I bought in 1996, before the other 2 systems
Stopped working a long time ago, not even the upside down trick works anymore
Are PS1 really that finicky, or I was just unlucky?
Stupid burgers don't know how to take care of their electronics, so it's probably a combination of poor manufacturing and neglect.
>>4142796
Me and a cousin both receive the first model for Christmas 1996, a year later his console had problem reading games meanwhile my console was perfectly fine, he had to use your pic related for games to read, around 2001 his mom sold it to buy a PS2, before that happen i remember that they have to change the laser at least two times, meanwhile my PS was still kicking like new until 2005 when it stopped reading and had to change the laser.
So yea maybe you are unlucky.
>>4142796
I don't know, my 1001 ps1 still works (I did a drive swap so that discs would work better) But a used Saturn I bought half a year ago stopped working months ago
I would love to play Road Rash in HD

>>4142698
MGS1/TS and MGS4 should get the treatment 2/3/PW got last gen.
okay let's be honest, at the time, it probably couldn't have lived up to the hype, but, based on the available footage and screenshots can we now say if it was actually released, it would have been the best n64 game?
I feel like it could have aged better then any other n64 game, better then majoras mask even (which I consider to be the best n64 game) if the story was as mature as what I've read to believe, it coulda really been the best game from that era. also, earthbound 64 thread, I guess.
>>4142646
>if the story was as mature as what I've read to believe
If the story is so mature, why is it written in a script for pre-schoolers?
>aged
>>4142653
>based on Agota Kirstof's novels
>pre-schoolers
>>4142668
>meme meme
Holy shit, this thread.
>>4142775
Hiragana are based on Chinese letters and predate Agota Kirstof' by several centuries.
Why do so many people in /vr/ hate the N64? Is it because it didn't have that many JRPGs? Or you were poor at the time to afford one and its games? Maybe you didn't have friends to experience couch multiplayer? Or is it just jealously?
And please don't come with "the n64 only has 5 good games hurr durr" because it just shows how much you don't know about the console.
>>4142621
I had one and it was a shitty console with no games that run them all on 20-15fps
Also that shitty controller
It ok if you have n64 and ps1.
But if you have only n64,it nightmare in 90'
>>4142621
small library
virtually no 2d games
the majority of 3d games on the system are untextured & all look the same as a result
early 3d has aged horribly in general
shitty controller
I know about pic related and Return To Dinosaur Land. Which hacks would you universally recommend?
The hacks should not be retardedly hard, I am just an average player who thinks that the original's difficulty is just right.
great pic man, been wanting to find something like this
>>4143131
Not OP but I have this if it interests you. Not related to SMW hacks or platformers in general but still a nice pic
>>4142606
Super Demo World.
What is Jack Frost's favourite JRPG?Rudra no HEE-HO!
>>4142558
What?
If Dracula's son was mentally challenged, he'd have been named "Alutard"
What is CARLOS' favorite JRPG?Salsa Frontier
The original Spyro is far superior to its sequels, and I resent the direction Insomniac took with them. In addition to making Spyro move much slower, giving the speaking characters a paragraph of dialogue each while never letting Spyro banter with them makes the interactions drag on painfully, and the objectives that the player has to accomplish to get orbs from the side characters make the game feel more like doing a laundry list of chores than going on a fun adventure. It's almost like Insomniac felt pressured to make Spyro more "kid-friendly" than he already was after the original's success.Elora is cute, though, and some of Spyro 2's side characters aren't that bad. Haven't got far enough in Spyro 3 to comment on that game much.
>>4142480
Pretty good blog.
I agree. Kinda miss how surreal and dreamlike the atmosphere was in the first one. Felt very barren like a lot of early 3d titles, but in the good way.
>>4142480
I link this every time Spyro comes up.

>The original Spyro is far superior to its sequels, and I resent the direction Insomniac took with them.
I'm of the opposite opinion desu, but one thing I think is pretty consistent around all three was the pretty good art direction.
Soundblaster or General Midi for System Shock?
Midi in this game and literally every other game.
>>4142417
Apple got the best quality music of this game sadly.
