>the culprit is whatever dark, ghost or poison type you met most recently
Just solved every case in Detective Pikachu
this, there's no need for stereotyping
>Scrafty is Detective Pikachu's informant for word on the street about the local Dark types
Irrelevant! Equal rights now!
>Poison Types will never stop being the villainous type
GHOSTS ARE THE "FUCK YOU, I DO WHAT I WANT" TYPE AND DARK IS THE "NOBLE YET MISUNDERSTOOD" TYPE
Only Absol and Darkrai are "noble and misunderstood".
They might not be "evil", but most Dark-types are dicks who use unfair and dishonorable tactics.
It would be interesting if they made Ditto the culprit in one of the cases. It can change into any Pokemon, right? If they stick to game mechanics rather than switch to anime mechanics for some strange reason then it'll be indistinguishable from the Pokemon it's copying. It'd be perfect for setting another Pokemon up and putting its ass in jail.
That'd be the case if it were Chunsoft writing it, except the one case where they totally surprise you by making the cutesy one you think is a victim the real villian and the big scary Pokemon the good guy
>Detective Pikachu by Uchikoshi
>your love interest is the culprit
>but she did it to save the city
>save it from you, who are unknowingly the real culprit
>because you're really a different consciousness inside a Pikachu's body, which is why you're able to speak and you've lost your memory of the switch
They probably wouldn't make some sort of gang who are selling those herbal medicine items "illegally" or something either. I guess there's always robberies/kidnappings/time and space altering mischief/stuff like that.
But they said this game is going to be "risky", right? Surely Pikachu talking isn't the only thing they're talking about since personally, I wouldn't consider that to be risky. It's just a spinoff game after all. But I suppose they wouldn't try and fit some adult themes into the game so the Pokemon franchise can continue being kid-friendly. We'll just have to wait and see what they do.
Depends on the rating I would say to what they can get away with.
Xenoblade X was rated T and they spouted damn and hell and shit every other chapter, plus there were sidequests revolving around manipulating/cultists, cold blooded murder and suicide and even a fucking alien landing from a tall building in front of you that looked like suicide at first but was actually murder.
As long as there's no blood, there's probably a very fuzzy limit of what sort of things they can do.
I'd actually love to see something like more adult themes in the game; if Pokemon existed in the world, wouldn't you use them to fuck up people if you could? It'd retroactively also legitimize all the villain teams from the games because for the most part they seemed like shitlords but when you think about it, a bunch of criminals wielding giant bat creatures and goop monsters is actually kind of terrifying.
>you are now imagining how glorious it would be if matt berry was cast to voice detectivechu
He reminds me of that one time...
>quick cut to unrelated obscure pop culture reference
>wacky voice and obnoxious laughter
>awkward pause to pad time
I agree that American Dad is the superior macfarlane show and will agree that he gets just as much undeserved flak as the undeserved praise he gets but i would absolutely hate to hear his obnoxious attempt at a detective pikachu
>I write mystery novels
>Poison, Ghost and Dark are my favourite types
Are we up to something?
that or just really dangerous
