Pokémon World is Earth.

I thought that was obvious. In gen 1 the world was much more transparently presented as our world with a bunch of pokemon thrown in.

And real animals (Indian Elephant) are mentioned in the pokedex and a few lines of dialogue in every other mainline game.

It's never been a secret that it was our world with a slight twist. I don't know why people act like it is.

Earth just means ground. Lots of people name their planet Earth or some synonym. It's the obvious name when you don't know of other inhabited planets to distinguish it from.
