You used to be able to deposit a pokemon, change boxes, and turn the power of when it said not to. The pokemon would both be in your party and in the box. It would also clone held items in GS. Multiple saves wouldn't affect this.

So if I'm reading this correctly you can have either option 1 with the standard saving feature that you use within the game, but opt out of the VC menu, or option 2 where you opt out of the standard saving feature, but use the VC menu.
I think a better way to go about it would be just combine both saves into the same one, so if you had a save from the standard way, and then used the VC it would overwrite it.
Also how does this stop people who opt for the VC option when changing boxes and trading both trigger saving?
This just raises more questions to speculate on until the game drops I suppose.

I was impressed the other day when I found out that the DS only had 4mb of RAM, and now it doesn't surprise me that the original gameboy only had 8kb. Either Nintendo's programmers were geniuses and used a lot of clever hacks, or gameboy games were dead simple. I'm inclined to believe it's the former, since I was reading on all of the programming wizardry they pulled off to make NES games run as well as they did. It's a shame that games are written as sloppy as they are these days because the end user's computational power is mostly considered unlimited.
