>>25014164 Quit shilling dumbass. That how everyone decent found out about Reddit.
But no seriously you didn't even ask what OP dislike about it. Maybe he hate the lack of choice in designs. I seen Rom hacks that often give you a choice in which character you play as, many of them being male and many others being female.
>>25014173 women have a shit ton more options and clothes to pick from IRL, plus they like shopping more in general for some raisin. the games just reflected reality in this case except the part about wearing fedoras
>>25014204 Honestly, they should have gotten a bunch of fujoshis, /cgl/, and maybe /fa/ types to do the male clothing. There are good and unique clothing options for guys but none of it is affordable (at least not something the average guy is willing to pay for) or something to wear on a daily basis.
>>25014157 >>25014168 >>25014178 you guys are fucking retards. if you don't like that feature of the game don't use it jackass, it's not as if game freak is holding a gun to your head to play dress up.
I for one couldn't care less. it was a feature they either use it again or don't.
>>25014245 if OP doesn't want to be called a faggot maybe he shouldn't say that features he's not obligated to use should not return just because he doesn't like them It's a shit opinion and you y'wanna know we do to retards with shit opinions in my country? we tie'em up to a chair and tickle them to death
I didn't really mind the customization yet the styles were not the best yet idk why I always liked when your partner walked with you I'm proud to still own my original yellow game and my fat grey game boy
>>25014287 Gens 1 and 2 were pretty crappy too, we just didn't notice since we were all kids. Gen 3's translation was decent but not amazing, while the dialogue in Gen 4 is actually pretty good.
Then, well, I'm not sure what happened exactly, but B/W's translation was okay (though the plot dialogue was usually on par with Gen 4), but B/W2 and XY/ORAS have fucking garbage translation that borders on Engrish in parts.
>>25014310 I was wondering what it would be like if trainer battles were more of a traditional black out, but team villain and wild pokemon battles in some areas would be actual game overs that start from your last save. Then I realised they might change the way saving works to avoid too much save scumming and veteran players or collectors would hate it.
>>25014310 That is an absolutely wonderful way to get people into messes that they can't get out of. If you can't battle a trainer because you're broke, then you can purposefully bankrupt yourself at the pokemart and then just stroll through the next route without a single battle, if you play your cards right, and repeated enough times that is the best possible way to get your ass trapped in a location you can't get out of, surrounded by pokemon that destroy you in one swipe and story NPCs that you can't progress past. Add to that the fact that it would make it possible to skip a part of the game that is iconic by simply going ham on the potion rack and it's possibly the worst idea I've ever heard.
I think that Pokémon should have a painful version:
> Pokémons have now a hidden constitution stat > A roll against constitution would start when Pokémon fainted, affected by overkill damage: the stronger the last attack, the harder the effect > Little effect would result in a faint > Medium effect end with the Pokémon temporary out of commission, even with PC > Big effect result in the Pokémon being permanently crippled (losing stats points, possible movements) > A complete fail would result in death (Pokémon is deleted from party)
>>25014777 This is a fantastic way to make money. This concept, I mean. Just like that picture of non-gender-specific gingerbread people. Upscale the price to quintuple what normal human gingerbread people cost, and idiots will buy them because of their mental disease horseshit. It's fantastically lucrative.
If only those people had jobs or any disposable income at all.
>You go to get your first pokemon but the Professor is late >When you get to pick the monster you get the weakest one >You get into your first battle and your pokemon leaves you >You have to use rocks to lure out another pokemon >Your pokeballs are bargain bin and have a 50% chance of success >It is always raining >Trainers steal your money >You finally challenge your first gym leader but get beat so bad you get laughed out of the town >Your second pokemon dies >Bullies harass you >Gang grunts harass you >Cops harass you
>>25014157 What I don't want to see is adults riding on the nostalgia train and then subsequently complain about a game that wasn't made for persons of their age group, and that isn't meant to cater to their opinions.
What I'd like to see is a game, for kids, being enjoyed by kids without the whole "HURR BUT MUH IV'S GENDER NON BINARY BADGE PROGRESSION TM WAIFU FIRE FAIRY HEADCANNON MUSTARD MAYONAISSE UBER CANON LE LE LE LE LE WILL NOT BANG POTS AND PANS" that comes out with every new Pokemon game.
Pokemon is 20 years old now, meaning that the kind of people you are should be older than that, and learning to enjoy things meant for others, and not demand that it fits your own particular set of opinions, which are shit in the first place.
>>25015483 They actually stopped doing that in FRLG and instead based payout on your highest levelled mon and however many badges you've earned up until that point.
Which is honestly one of the best ways to handle losing money because of the lack of any sort of bank system outside of GSC and HGSS, and it makes sense to scale it like that instead of a hard "always lose half your money"
>>25015472 why are you so reactionary? it's like the thought of somebody wearing clothes that doesn't conform to your strict idea of what they should wear offends you like a 3D model in a kid's video game wearing a skirt seriously hurts your masculinity?
For example, Mandibuzz is a 100% female species. There is NO REASON for them to not be refered to as she/her.
The only time I'm fine with the neutral it is when it's a genderless Pokemon. Because that makes sense. Male Pokemon are "he" and female are "she."
>inb4 goofags going "HER!!1!" If it's a male, it's a he you fucking faggots. You want a female snail dragon? Breed it and fuck off.
>inb4 tumblr mayonaisse gender No. I want it to say the Pokemon's gender because they should have done that backs in GSC when they introduced the mechanic. It's just annoying that my Hitmonlee is an "it" when he's a 100% male species. Inconsequential and not really a big deal in the game as a whole but annoying, like a hole in your sock.
>>25014173 I agree with this. If the idea is player customization (which has been the name of the game since Pokemon's inception), then a full range of options should be given. And if that's not going to happen, then at least give the males more options. Less than half of the stuff females get; fucking bullshit.
>>25016081 Pokemon has always been a player driven type of JRPG. You are the trainer, you make your team, you are the protagonist. You're not playing as a character because you are the character; it's always been a self-insert kind of thing and always will be.
>>25016081 >I like to play as the protagonist character themself and not more like a self insert kind of thing But that's what the protagonist of a Pokemon video game usually is - a self-insert. Notable exceptions may include Wes from Colosseum and Michael from GoD.
>>25014219 The protagonists in the video games are self-inserts, and they're meant for the player to project themselves on. Plus, next to percent of the male characters made a major appearance in the show.
>>25014863 That crowd has been proven to be unreliable as shit as a market segment. Fem Thor and Squirrel Girl's sales plummeted right after issue one, so it won't be a surprise if they get canned soon. There's really no point in trying to cater to them because not only will they not buy it, they'll stop promoting the game for the company through social media because they're too busy trying to find the next big thing to fuss over.
>>25014863 Nope. Wrong. These are welfare folks. Their opinion doesn't matter. They sure as hell have a lot to say about things they want to buy, but CAN they buy it? No. If they had money, they'd use it on hormones, surgery, makeup, and whatever the fuck else.
On topic, I could go without never seeing a Mega again. It's a cool concept and all, but maybe a cool for two games concept. I hope it's just one of those gimmicks they add in and remove come next gen.
I'd totally be okay with a challenging Pokemon game where you're actually the underdog clawing your way to victory.
I especially really like the whole "Your Pokemon leaves you at your first battle." thing and you actually have to capture one of the local Pokemon native to the area, and you DON'T start off with a super special one that could, with a bit of grinding, carry you through the entire game.
You start the game as some unknown loser that slowly gets better. I honestly wouldn't mind if the beginning of the game was really long as you work your way up to being able to challenge the gym leader who humiliated you.
As you go through the game it remains a challenge, you eventually have rematches against everyone who humiliated you in the beginning and make them see you for the true trainer you are, the general attitude the NPCs have toward you changes more and more the more badges you earn, and the final battle is actually against your rival, the one who picked the Pokemon who had a type advantage over yours.
The Pokemon who left you was caught by your rival and tries to join you when he or she loses, and you can either accept and keep it or say no and it stays with it's current trainer knowing it'll always be with the second best.
Alternatively this trainer never beats one of the first four gyms and gives up, and will challenge you in an attempt to make him/herself feel better.
It's like we're Gary Oak, but instead of being the jerk who loses in the end we're the underdog who claws our way to fame and glory.
Also if it's a 4chan made game add in obligatory in-depth dating segments and tons of other cool side things.
>>25016452 Amie would be better if I felt like it was actually reasonable to want to keep my Pokemon happy. As it stands, the way it's set up, you give them affection they want to play, you play they want food, and it just cycles around. I don't want Amie to feel like a grind but more like taking a reasonable amount of time over the course of my journey to give my pokemon attention and take care of them.
