The problem I had with x/y was that there were no indications that what lysandre said was true. Most npcs were actually very nice to the player and most seemed to be hard-working.

In order for lysandre to be tangible and corporeal, we need to see why he thinks kalos is corrupt and dirty, and we need to see actual interactions between npcs and him.

Ghetsis was effective because we saw people actively saying that he might be right or he might be crazy, we saw him interact with many different people, and he was vicious.

Well the anime has the advantage of coming out 2nd and an episodic release schedule.
GF rarely gets it right the first time; they have to remake their old games and even their current games. That's what's truely embarrassing.
