Why do Misty fans always place Dawn second behind Misty? I work under the theory that its because May "replaced Misty" that they can't ever accept her, so they accept Dawn because she didn't directly come after Misty.

I still have the feeling we are gonna get shitload of dull fillers before ash manages reach to kalos league

So I was rewatching the New Year Special and realized something interesting.

Note how the entire special is focused around summarizing relevant shit only. They recap episode 1 and 9 of XY&Z nearly in their entirety, showing all the important Squishy/Flare bits, but skip over not-too-important shit like Sycamore meeting Squishy and starting to research it. They show the key parts of Greninja's story, but skip all the ninja village legend stuff since it's all mostly fluff. Olympia gets a quick intro just to frame shit. Likewise, they give Shota a quick introduction seemingly just as framework for how the group learns about Terminus Cave.

However... while them spending a lot of time going over Alan's backstory makes sense due to his part in the story, a LOT of time is seemingly unnecessarily spent on detailing Steven's role in all this. This could have easily been cut around, as the only really important parts of Act 2 and 3 is that Lysandre ended up with the megalith, as well as the flashback detailing his history with Alan, and Steven doesn't play much of a role in Act 4.
Instead they spent a lot of time detailing who Steven is, what he did and what he knows. It all heavily suggests Steven is going to play a major role in XY&Z and the Zygarde story.

We've seen a clip of the next Tripokalon in the New Year Special. Tripokalons Serena takes part in never take place in anime-original filler towns, meaning that's the Snowbelle Tripokalon. Ash's gym battles are always next to Tripokalons in towns with gyms.

They're not doing it like the games where TF ends between gyms 7 and 8. Heck, they've started TF after gym 7 and with the Terminus Cave and Couriway behind, they're already well after the point where their plot ends in the games. Wulfric in the OP is obviously footage that will be replaced by something else later on with the same OP still going, so no 52-episode gap after which the OP would get replaced entirely. Most importantly, there's the point about Serena's Snowbelle Tripokalon already being seen. TF will last after the eighth gym, the gang will go back to Lumiose, the climax will take place and then the league happens in September/October.
