The main series games are first and foremost a JRPG where the stated goal is collecting things. Competition must exist because it's a huge part of the setting, but not everything can or should be balanced, especially with 700+ species to choose from. Some are strong to justify their role in the story, and some are weak to make early-game battles more forgiving.
Imagine a Final Fantasy game where every monster from every game in the franchise was playable. Some of them would be game-breaking by design, even at equalized level.

The gold tassel things and the mandible jaws are kinda neat. That eyeliner stuff looks a bit silly, though. They coulda done a better job, but it's not too awful. They could have covered it in spikes. That wouldn't look too good at all.

Friendly reminder that MegaFug is broken in Singles but Doubles has to deal with Primal Groudon which will always fall under the radar thanks to MegaFug's bullshit no-Megastone gimmick.

The only way i use mega Rayquaza in doubles is with skill swap contrary. Free defences & special attack for everyone (Contrary Dragon ascent & contrary draco meteor) + something with heal pulse
