If you're still playing the base game, pull up the gap map and cycle through the pages (A/D on keyboard, L/R on controller) to get to Yukari's house.

Beat up Ran and Yukari and then she'll unlock netplay for you.

I find it hard to imagine that many people are playing the vanilla netplay right now though.

2. Sound types resist nether and hit illusion for SE, so a strong fast sound type could sweep you

Also, in "this is terrifying" news, EMamizou gets an ability that removes the charge turn of moves that take 2 turns to execute. Basically it's power herb as an ability.

She learns the puppet equivalent of Shadow Force.

It's also on EMarisa, who gets not just Solarbeam, but also a chaos version of it.

I'm really curious about that extra ability. I don't know Japanese though.

Oh god, some puppets get more than 2 level 70 moves, so the dollpages thing got updated to include those. Example: Extra Ran gets SEVEN moves at level 70 (Wind God Protection, Waves of Earth, Diffusion Laser, Cross Change A Tempo, Concentrate Stance, and Astrology).

RaikoP didn't lose Brave Song after all, which combined with her getting Skanda opens the door for a double boosting moveset, RaikoA learns Will'o'Wisp without need for the skillcard, and RaikoE also learns Brave Song in case you want to try and make her actually do damage without Revolving Illusion.

Other things of note:

KogasaE learns Genbu. She also gets Curse Reversal (i.e. Pain Split) for pesudo recovery.

WakasagiE gets Local Downpour (i.e. whirlpool, who cares), Ruinous Voice (i.e. Perish Song), and... Power Spot... (i.e. WISH)

Ok, she gets reliable recovery on top of everything else she gets, I think it's safe to say that Hemo may have been drunk when making WakasagiE.

God, if her ability auto-induced Genbu as well, she would basically be a better Kyogre. Kyogre's speed is actually middling (90) and it doesn't get Trick Room for those ridiculous shenanigans, it doesn't get reliable recovery (let alone reliable recovery that can be passed to other team members), is about on par with her in physical bulk (100/90 v 120/70), only has one STAB vs fishy's 2, is worse defensively (weak to grass and electric with 4 resists vs double weak to poison with 2 double resists and 1 resist)...

While it's obvious that Kyogre is more overpowered, it's actually pretty close. Remember Kyogre has a BST of 670 while WakasagiE is BST 480.

I am seriously comparing a BST 480 to fucking Kyogre and it's actually pretty CLOSE.

S and P both got some pretty decent buffs, took out some stats from her lesser attack spat and gave a nice boost to her health in both styles and she has more moves to work with.

Too bad she's still horrendously crippled by both her styles having double weakness to an extremely common attack type.

Extra style is yet another mixed wall with terrible damage output but she's, as always, weak to two extremely common attack types so she's completely useless as a wall and that's all her extra style can do, unless the two untranslated new skills she gets end up being amazing.

MomijiE looks to be a pretty damn solid mixed wall that can put back out some decent damage output, albeit she's 4x weak to fire and 2x to fight and chaos so she's going to be heavily reliant on what's common in the meta to take her into netplay.

KonngaraE is kinda all over the place and has a lot of build variety. She can be turned into a straight forward bulky offense, a mixed wall with recoil moves and curse reversal or a setup sweeper with sharp wind and she has some amazing attacks in her kit.

I think she has some serious potential especially with the added bonus of the opponent not immediately knowing what her role is when she comes in.

Puppets sorted by speed tier.
Each base speed (e.g. base 110) has a "representative" so you'll have something to relate the number to*.

Each base speed has one puppet showing full PP investment and Green emblem, one example with full investment and a neutral emblem and one example with no investment.
You'll have to do multiplication (such as Good Belt/Choice Scarf and Mad Rush Stance) yourself, but this should still be helpful, for example to see if your Fairy Fance KogasaA needs a Green Emblem or not to outspeed that one threat.

I can include the speed stats for Genbu users (E- speed) if you want me to, and if there are any puppets with weird base Speed stats (or something with 25/15/5 base Speed) in YnK I'm not aware of.

* some choices are my favourites that are lesser known metagame-wise than other puppets with the same base speed, e.g. MarisaS instead of FutoS.
There are no good puppets with 25 base speed and none with 15 or 5, so that's left out entirely.

Why not run MaganP as an anti-Genbu team member? He's even slower than Wakasagi (base 20 speed vs base 35), has good bulk (80/105/105), is Poison type and thus has STAB on Wakasagi's one weakness, and can thus blow her to pieces and then take advantage of their own Genbu to tear a hole through the opponent's team, because base 20 speed is slower than everything outside of OrangeD and RenkoE anyways, neither of which can do anything back.

Shame he doesn't get Genbu himself, but I feel like the one thing in this entire game that resembles an actual Pokemon in appearance might be much more viable now.

Alright, so SukunaD still largely trivializes Remilia, as expected. Remi's levels are less "fuck you" now- if you've not been grinding you should be on par with her strongest puppet.

I'm a bit disappointed that they lowered the levels... but then again old Remi with the new AI would be pretty terrifying.

Speaking of the AI, the boss battles with nuclear fusion playing are the only ones who have used it so far. The AI makes you think and anticipate, but it's not perfect from what I've experienced so far (it didn't anticipate overtake strike).

It's a shame that it's relegated to only leader battles, as having to actually use you brain in an in-game fight is a wonderful change of pace. Ah well. I'm just hoping that the approaching midgame isn't as much of a stomp as the original.


Ah, and areas have been modified as well. The forest of magic has ledges added so that your path is more directed and less "where the fuck am I". I think the Scarlet Mansion basement is unchanged, however.

The lack of a translation makes it difficult to figure out how to use Sagume. Due to her nature I'm guessing she's rather gimmicky. I have no clue which form to aim for.


And for those who played the original hacks: it looks like YumekoP was reverted back to Steel/Dark.

Hard to say for certain while new abilities and moves remain ambiguous. But from what we have.

Go defense if you're boring and want a focus wall.

Power is the very definition of glass cannon and comes with great attacking STAB and fucking Starving Spirit (+critical nether earthquake)

Extra gives her dream typing, and if I'm remembering right her abilities give her a choice of free STAB combinations. Could be wrong on that. She has a solid offensive spread and learns sucker punch and pursuit as well.
