>23 people picked Surf
>23 people were too young to remember the Surfing Pikachu game
I, for one, enjoyed playing Excitebike in Pokemon.
And the winners are all correct, except music. Not fond of design, either, but not the worst pick.
That's just how the voting went, but if we went by individual numbers, it won Best Gameplay and Best Plot/Lore, came in second for best Post Game, and third for best Music.
Overall, it was a pretty solid generation.
That was my runner up choice. I voted 5.
5 > 2 > 4 > 1 > 6 > 3
I can only think ORAS is changing people's opinion on Gen 3 retroactively.
I still like Gen 1 solely for glitchmons but it's been outdone in every single other area by another game at this point.
>mfw you filter out the tards and /vp/ actually has great taste
2 is easily the worst gen
it improves upon Gen I, but it doesn't add enough to really stand on its own as anything other than an expansion for I
Gen I is pretty simplistic, but its not a bad game and everything holds together
>Gen 5 won
Anyways, pic related OP. Good work.
>Gen 5 won
Could it be? Does /vp/ actually have good taste?
Because Gen 4 was also a very solid generation. Disregarding the horrible battle speed, the games brought a lot of new and interesting stuff. Four Runner Up and one Winner is a good proof that it had quality.
I'm glad to finally see some real taste in a poll without it being rigged, especially since now with this Gen 2 loudmouthers will finally shut up.
OP was not a faggot today, you better screencap the OP, OP.
>Best pokémon design
>Gen 3 aka the beginning of overdesign
>Better "gameplay" than 6
>Best postgame content
>Not gen 5
>gen 1 and 2 are almost always dead last
With this results we can confirm /vp/ are a bunch of reverse-nostalgia fags.
My only complaint is Gen 5 coming above gen 4 for Lore, Sinnoh had mythology and creation coming out of its ears, Black and White just had some vague reference to some random dragon that split into three
Lore AND plot.Gen IV had best lore but plot was not as good as B/W, even though Team Galactic was okay.I feel that gen V had the best music too if only thanks to PWT battle themes but can't win them all I guess
BEST POKEMON DESIGN:
6 > 1 > 5 > 3 > 2 > 4
6 > 5 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 1
BEST POST GAME CONTENT:
5 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 6 > 1
5 > 3 > 4 > 6 > 1 > 2
6 > 5 > 3 > 4 > 2 > 1
BEST PLOT AND LORE:
5 > 6 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 1
5 > 6 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 1
Mewtwo is a mutant Mew, it's legendary status is debatable.
Meanwhile the jet twins look almost robotic.
Ray/Kyo/Groud also look very unnatural with thick yellow/black/red patterns and bright colors.
The regi trio look alienlike thanks to the wierd "face".
>Winner: Generation 3
>Runner Up: 4
What the fuck
Perhaps it's time to admit that there is nothing exceptional about gen 2 that makes it stand out?
>My shock comes from how high Gen 4 was ranked in everything
>doesn't understand how gen 4 got runner up for best plot and lore
>doesn't understand how it ranked first for best post game
>doesn't understand how it rank 3rd in best gameplay
C'mon son, did you even play Platinum?
Anon, if you actually sit down and think for a moment, look at Johto. Look at how small and boring and shitty it is. Now imagine a game where you just had to go through that. It would've fucking sucked. Johto is such a boring ass region and gives Kalos a run for its money. Without Kanto its nothing, you hear me. NOTHING.
>Best Pokemon design / music: Gen III
Holy shit what? Anyways...
Best Pokemon design:
1 > 6 > 2 > 3 > 4 = 5
6 > 5 >4 > 3 > 2 > 1, this is a fact
Best post-game content:
5 > 2 > 4 > 6 > 3 > 1
1 = 2 > 6 > 4 > 5 > 3
6 > 4 > 5 > 3 > 2 > 1
Best plot and lore:
6 > 1 = 2 = 5 > 3 = 4
>MUH EDGE RIVAL, fuck buddy friendship kiddy shit
>Holy shit what? Anyways
>then goes and rank gen 6 music that high
Holy fuck, my sides.
Some people do change their opinion when they replay them. For example, when Twilight Princess was released people expected it to be absolutely flawless (which it wasn't). So lots of people hated it at first because it never reached their impossibly high expectations. But after they cooled down and tried it again, they saw that it had solid dungeons and boss battles.
Gen 2 should be second in post-game and music, gen 6 should be top for gameplay. Other than those and the overall rankings, I can't really argue with the first and second place winners.
black city / white forest, PWT, "achievements" you can actually see in game... you might as well do the film making thingie but the fact they force a 10 years old child to make one prevented me from trying...
if your argument for saying gen 4 did not suck is "look at platinium" well, try black2, the only one pokemon game with a hard mode (still easy as fuck but it's a pokemon game...)
but... the simple fact that so few were right about the bonus question, even though you only needed to play HGSS to get the answer may explain one thing or two...
>The biggest flaw is the pokemon design
Not even, it really should have been second place at least, but instead it's fucking genwun. Gen 2 is way too high as well, seriously? Mass-marketing and childhood nostalgia are powerful forces, I guess.
Ah well, good taste overall.
>>objectively best pokemon design
all the new pokemon were godawful, they felt like rejected first gen designs, like fuck how many of you have fond memories of Stantler and the other shitmons
cant even remember the music at this point tbh, its was more or less the same as the first game with a few new additions
>>two regions, 16 gyms
all awful, Johto was a tiny piece of shit and none of the gyms are memorable at all, nor are the gym leaders, the two regions together are barely even a fraction of the content Hoenn offered in the next game, and neither is as interesting, honestly I prefer Gen1 over 2 just because at least it was origional and can get a little slack, Gentooo was just lazy and felt like a cheap expansion pack more than a full new game
>>the perfect blend of multiple-region pokemon
more like just the original 150 again with a handful of new shitmons thrown in as well that were tbh rarely used
the love for Gentoooo is worse than Genwon imo because while it is also nothing but nostalgia, at least the first game has the excuse of being the First, while G/S is just a mess of unfinished ideas
compared to Unova which itself is a sort of reboot it doesn't compare in any aspect at all
>The biggest flaw is the pokemon design.
really? the pokemon design isn't bat at all, its more toned down from GenIV and it seems people focus on one or two evolution lines and ignore the other 150 pokemon they added
more than that some of the hate they get is really unreasonable and seems more like distaste for anything new or that people feel these new pokemon are 'stealing' something from their genwon babies
>Does 16 gyms and 2 regions mean nothing?
Absolutely love Gen 6. It's like a mini Pokemon Stadium without the obvious features. The sprites are great, the music IS BANGING (c'mon seriously, even if you hate everything about ORAS, the music in it is too good). I love me some Gen 2 and 4 as well, but these remakes are fine by me. Glad to see every generation getting a little love one way or another. That's why they're all special.
