Hatching a shiny Ralts as well. I keep a mini record of my progress and so far, I'm 465 eggs in. If I hatch one and get a female, I'll name her Kiko, but if it's a male, I still don't have any intention on making a Gallade and will call him Sarina.

I hatched a shiny Larvitar before at 645, and another one at around 750-800. Hoping something will come up soon.

1 box in on Arons. Not complaining, but the road is far ahead of me and I hope Masuda is kind to me.

Ugh I hate being so indecisive with my hunts. A few weeks ago I bred an adamant ralts because I wanted a gallade in ORAS and got a nice shiny, but with the reveal of its ability and the uncertainty in its stats has me back on the bike for a jolly ralts. Anyone else thinking jolly over adamant? A blurb about mega gallade mentions only att and speed increases.

SS is unreliable, and even with a bulky set it's hard to actually get off a boost with Arbok due to the lack of recovery, so the defensive boost won't matter that much unless you took very little damage prior to applying it. Intimidate is far better even with the presence of WoW and T-Wave, since getting bogged down with status effects isn't as damaging as not being able to use your Pokemon to do jack shit to begin with.

Balltism is hard to deal with, I've spent the last 20 mins flipping between to different ones. I didn't have balltism before /shw/ but now I can't help myself. So mega gallade, great ball or net ball? I chose net ball for my last shiny ralts. I'd have no problem choosing great ball if the horns on gallade weren't orange when shiny. What do you think /shw/?

It's the difference between spending 100 hours of frustration and 90 hours of frustration. It lets you get the IV side of things out of the way before you start focusing on the actual MMing of the pokemon.

The value in a shiny is still there to people because they still spent a shit-load of hours to get it, they just didn't spend the time to get the 6IV parent, which wouldn't have been directly related to the hunt anyway. If you gen, you don't spend a shit-load of hours.

It's really only a matter of where you want to draw the line. Some people gen, and for other people as long as they put in the time biking, that's OK, and good for them. For other people every step of the process needs to be legitimate, which is also OK for those people that feel that way.

I am currently going after shiny articuno

I recently bought ruby and sapphire and emerald online and will be going after groudon shiny in ultra ball and kyogre shiny in ruby and sapphire respectively after articuno.

After groudon and kyogre I am planning on going after what to me personally is the cream of the crop shiny I want far over anything else. Shiny rayquaza in a luxury ball. I'd go into this but this is a wall text already so i'll explain if anyone is interested

Sure!And congrats on your pinisir! I'm a big fan of blue shinies. So here is what i'll do to catch rayquaza

6 smeargles is the team i'll use to catch him

First smeargle- Imprison/Outrage/Extremespeed/Fly- This smeargle will use imprison and force rayquaza to use rest until it is out of PP. For the rest of the battle I will not have to worry about it healing

Then 3 other smeargles will be sent in carrying the move memento and put it to sleep to save rayquazas pp and use memento. Memento Kos the user and drops the attack and special attack by 2 stages on the foe. This will drop rayquaza to -6. Rayquazas stats are so high that smeargle can't survive for long against him normally. The less damage rayquaza does the less time I have to waste ball throw turns healing.

Theres going to be some careful play with the smeargles using the move skillswap to give rayquaza smeargles ability. This ability prevents you from becoming confused. Now his rest is gone AND he can't hurt himself from confusion with outrage, letting me drop him to 1 hp.

5 of the smeargles have Trick with a Leppa berry. A leppa berry gives back 10 pp. This will give rayquaza 50 more pp and on top of that I will get more turns for ball throws from sleep status on each of those extra moves I can get smeargle in on

There will be 1 smeargle designated on staying in forever outside of switching to use trick after this is all set up to keep putting rayquaza to sleep so I can keep throwing luxury balls

I got this little guy this week. Lure ball, right ability and 4 egg moves. I think I got him after 14 boxes, one of my shortest ride. I love his design and shiny pattern so much...

My next hunt will be Starly. I already have a HA female Starly with 5 ivs, right nature, 4 egg moves and Timer Ball. I wasn't really sure about timer ball but whatever.

If I don't have one now, I'll have one eventually. The only problem is that it's bold, since I'm doing a gimmicky all-flabebe-must-be-different thing. You'd most likely want it to be calm or modest, depending on what you want to prioritize. Also Flabebe's egg moves are a joke.

If you use two 6iv parents, the chances are very good. For beginners, I'd suggest tying something easy, like Honedge. Only one ability to worry about, and if you end up with a bad iv in something, it's base stats are so high, it won't matter too much. still kinda matters, though..

I don't, actually. I just use my boxes to keep count.

Whenever I hatch one, I drop it into the box. Then when I hatch another one, I put it in front of the previous one and release that one. Once I reach the bottom of the box and loop back to the top, I change the name of the box to "Box 1," "Box 2," etc. When I get a shiny, I can use the name of the box and the position of the last hatched Pokemon to count how many eggs I had to go through.

I honestly prefer hatching on Route 7. Tried taking a couple of boxloads to Lumiose once, and it didn't feel any faster to me. It's only so that you don't have to switch directions on the circle pad/D pad every couple of seconds.

Heyo folks, hows the hunting?

Finally have something worth posting, been hatching for ralts lately, after seeing mega Gallade figured i'd give it a go (despite the whole Inner Focus thing).
Anyway, been slow going since I've had a lot of personal stuff on, but got to box 3 today.
First batch of 6, hatched a male! Decided to finish the rest of the box before checking Ivs, and in the last but one batch hatched another shiny ralts, this time female!
Thankfully, the male is perfect. 5iv, missing Sp.Attack, Adamant. Still working out exactly what moves it will have, just finished leveling him up.

The female is no good though unfortunately. Adamant nature since I was going for a male, and her speed is only 4.
But still happy with double shinies!
Named the male Osman, and the female Buna, after the characters in the Croatian swords dance the "Moreška". Osman is the white king, who saves Buna from the black king.
(So he is probably going to be taught swords dance)

Filling up boxes was a terrible idea. I already have two of the shiny I want and still have to hatch 9 more boxes. :(
