roost on mega pinsir wouldn't be broken, he's already frail, and wasting a turn to roost up is dangerous if your opponent has a electric/fire type attack coming your way, unless you predict a switch perfectly or something

To be honest, it almost seems fair - physical attackers are vulnerable to both burn and intimidate, but the same risks aren't there for special attackers.
Besides, it makes sense flavour-wise too; I imagine being poisoned makes it pretty hard to concentrate/do whatever it is that gives special attacks oomph.

I like the thought behind putting a punishment behind it, just use it when you're guaranteed not to be killed(when they setup), but reward would usually outweigh risk, it'd be more balanced if it killed self on use.

Honestly though even with all the defense coming from those tired of the physical attacker dominance special attackers have quite the many coverage options with rarely, if any, drawbacks in use beyond some frailty.

Mega Slowbro will bring the boosting bulky special attacker to the center stage imo.
