I usually lead with meowstic + machomp whenever I see those 2 in team preview

There have been lots VGC tournaments through this year (Excluding the Pokemon Day), all of them organized by 'Play!'. If I recall correctly, there were Nats a couple of months ago. but the prize for the 1st place was only a medal, a trophy and some plushie, literally anything but a Worlds Invite, which sucks, there are a lot of excellent players here.

I'm guessing but I think it was because of 1) it's not common and surprise factor matters, 2) it fits perfectly on his team, 3) fits the current metagame
and 4) makes people cheer for him, which coupled with the harsh time limit makes his opponents choke in crucial moments.

Granted that my experience playing on Battle Spot doubles obviously can't be compared to Worlds, but I found Pachi to be somewhat useful even once the "gimmick" of it is up due to the usefulness of redirection. Its electric typing is really nice since it takes neutrally/resists Talonflame, which is generally used as an Amoongus counter. Electric typing is also really good defensively since it's only weak to Ground and EQ is only ever really seen on Garchomp this year (who has plenty of counters). In addition, Follow Me works on Grass types and Pokemon using Safety Goggles, so it has some additional advantages over Rage Powder due to that.

Overall, I can't say for sure that Pachirisu is as good as Amoongus, however it is very good against most common Amoongus counters.

I'll also say that one of my favorite double battles moments was when my opponent tried to Guard Split his Shuckle onto his Chansey, only for my Pachi to redirect it to him.

That Charizard spread won't do you much good to be honest. Garchomps in particular get an easy time to OHKO it with an easy Rock Slide despite you being max speed. Toxic stall isn't that common at all either in VGC, so I would suggest you to use Wide Guard on Aegislash instead, so it can serve as just alittle support.

Why you put Ice Shard on Mamoswine when it already has a Scarf, and Surf on Greninja when everything you have gets hit by it, I don't understand.

I kinda like what valve did with the dota2 invitational or whatever it was called - charge the spectators, not the players. It's the same thing other events like musicians and sports do, so why not do it for "esports" as well?

2) Marowak was barely a top 50 mon and in vgc that generally means it's going to be overlooked. Sejun used it because of the lightning rod support and being pretty slow.

So at least know that these Pokemon were basically called shitmons before Sejun touched them.

I do agree about Magmar but Marowak has always been Rhydon Lite. I wouldn't call him a shitmon no one knew about before Sejun.
