Emerald is a lot of things, but bland is not one of them.

Haven't played Gates but Super is alright, doesn't hold up to Explorers though.

Super brings some good while also getting rid of some of the good. Mechanics-wise it's more or less the same, but the biggest thing I think a lot of people are upset about is the new recruit system. You have a limited amount of recruits and once you recruited them all that's it. With that also is the "availability of pokemon" where you can't just keep using your favorites because they take breaks which forces you to use different pokemon but it's super aggravating none-the-less.

On the plus side, the dungeons are cool and legendary fights are a lot of fun. They also bring back characters from previous games like Wigglytuff, Grovyle, Rampardos and Cincinno (but it's mostly just for flavor since it doesn't add anything in particular).

I personally recommend Super overall if you enjoyed the other entries.

It's still around, it's just nintendo has been enforcing its "no outside software" rule lately. So if you're using any DS updated since fall that has homebrew on it 2018 Nintendo has right to ban you for breaking TOS. That's ANY homebrew, BTW. People have been banned for custom themes and backup tools like the offline "pokebank" clone.

This is why smart injectors use two DS systems. One not updated (old TOS) with the software on it and one updated (new TOS) with no homebrew on it.

Because the anime makers are retards who have no idea what they're doing. They seem to think that putting gen 1 nostalgia-bait shit in will attract attention, but they don't seem to get why it would attract attention or that it would be from old adult fans who want to see everything gen 1, but they know the target audience of little kids wouldn't actually care and so they stuck the usual characters-of-the-day and current gen mythical in there. It's a mess that appeals to no one except animefags who would watch it no matter what.
