Spoiler free review of Sun/Moon without any bullshit.

I'm tired of these cancerous threads where everything is black or white regarding the quality of the game so here is an actual, straight to the point, review of the game for people who don't know if they'll buy it or are looking for a pokemon game to play. I'll judge the game from a casual and a competitive point of view.

TL;DR: Is the game fun? No (most of the time). Are the new mons fun? Yes. Overall: Undoubtedly a bad game in itself but a positive impact on everything else by bringing new mons.

Good points:
- New pokemon are really cool, interesting designs, fun abilities, a few buff and nerfs here and there to shake the meta. You encounter new mons regularly troughout the game.
- Some ingame battles are really fun and challenging.
- The new system replacing HMs is fun.
- Some musics are really good.
- Ultimately it is easier to get perfect IV/EV mons with the new system, however you'll still have to roll natures and use breeding for egg moves.
- It's fun to discover the various effects of Z-Moves by yourself.
- You get a bunch of weird items and mons easily.

I dunno about you, but i find Mudsdale so... Strong-looking. Like, in a non-gay way, of course. I look at its face and its beefy, strong legs, paired with the black and brown colors, and i can't not imagine it as a strong uncle that works everyday for more than 8 hours a day but still manages to be jolly and nice to be around and talk to. And no, it's not because it's a horse, because i find Rapidash a wimp. But, of course, i'm not saying this in a bara way, i'm not gay, i just think Mudsdale would make a good friend.

I'm fairly new to Pokemon(started playing competitively from gen 6) and here is my opinion on SM.

+Better visuals(although I think the animations were better and cuter in ORAS)
+Game is sometimes challenging
+Some cute characters

-No dex nav
-Very unstable framerate on O3DS
-TOO MANY SHITMONS. Pellipper, Dugtrio, Zubat is in almost every island and you will see them all the time.
-Shitty setup for egg hatching
-No Safari(It sucked but at least safari guaranteed 2 maxed IVS)
-main story is too short
-Cinematics everywhere. It's painful especially at the beginning
-Writing is bad
-Dumb trainer AIs and most of them only has 1~2 mons with them.
-No national dex
-There isn't much to do post game
-Very linear maps with not much to explore
-Hey bro follow the red flag
-Most of the New mon designs are shit
-Most trainer battle starts and ends with you doing a Z move.
-Lillie literally handholding you everywhere
-Rotomdex is annoying
-Taking photos of the mons has terrible framerate and is a shitty system

I think SM is the worst Pokemon I've played so far. It actually makes me think the people who are saying positive stuff about the game is NOA employees.

Are Ultra Beasts considered legendaries?

In regards to game design, legendaries have all been very pokemon, and none of them evolve or evolve from something. (Solgaleo and Luunala break this pattern. Are they legendaries, ultra beasts, both, or neither?) And legendaries are one-off Pokemon. You cannot find multiples in the same game. I've heard rumors that anons have found multiples of Ultra Beasts in the game. One anon said they'd caught 4 Pheromosa.

Legendaries are also often involved in the story and lore of Pokemon. They often have incredibly great power, and may be a guardian of some place or have some role or duty. Do Ultra Beasts do any of these things, by which they might be considered legendaries lorewise? Or are Ultra Beasts a separate group of Pokemon that, while unique, are not legendaries?

We finally have a list of which Pokemon will be allowed to be used this year.

And surprisingly enough, or maybe not, Ultra Beasts ARE ALLOWED.

How do you think this will affect the metagame? Have you thought of any cool strats for them now? Which ones will be viable and which ones will be shitmons?
